Huntingdon station is unrecognisable from when in 1950 my pals and I would cycle from Cambridge, spend the day on the platform and cycle home in the evening because Route availability prevented the Pacifics from visiting Cambridge except for one running-in stopping turn in the early morning. We were 12! Happy times.
My local station in the 50's was St James Street Walthamstow on the Liverpool St to Chingford branch.N2 0-6-2 tank engines...They were happy times..I don't think 12 year olds would cycle very far today.
