Dave obviously struggled during the performance. I guess for a song he didn’t want added to the 1984 album and basically didn’t want a video recorded for the song to be played on MTV, he performed it too the best of his ability.
Eddie is still the real deal. No guitar hero video game wannabe...just a man, a guitar and real-life calloused fingers on two of the greatest hands ever to touch a guitar. Can't wait for the new album and tour!
I would have to say that it's pretty damn good for being 30 years out of their prime. Most of the people leaving bad comments couldn't pay their famliy members to come watch them. Give them a break.
Spare a thought for us poor VH fans in Australia. They never once bothered to come out here with Roth or Hagar. They came in '98 with Cherone & that is what most australians think VH is. Crazy huh? Mikey was very generous with the time he gave us fans & i find it insane that he's not in the band anymore... I don't expect VH to come out here, love 'em as i might.....
Now have a Merry Christmas & Happy New Year. My Christmas has come early since VH are back. And 2008 & beyond look a hell of a lot better than the last couple of years!!!
Dave's never been much of a singer live. This was his best vocal work since the 70's, and they sounded GREAT. Yeah, Eddie was still drinking on the first leg of the tour, but they sounded a good as ever. Someone should have told Wolfie that it is lame to wear your own band's shirt on stage. Leave that cheesy move to Maiden.
In fact VH were just a trio from 1986-96, all VH mattered then was Eddie, Alex & Mike. You see, Dave sparkles like diamond, a Star, he's the toast master, master of all ceremony's, the one vocalist equal to Edward Van Halen's wizardry's!! Both Eddie & Dave are meant for each other, like a Bic Mac with Fries!! Sam tried but is forever in Dave's shadow!! That is why Sam can't get a tan, he's forever in Diamond Dave's shadow!!! A VH FACT!!!!!!!
its actually a new one that ed taped and painted. i think he made one for every show, and then autographed it afterwards. from there it was sold on ebay. I'm not sure if it was for a charity or what though.

Cox was a better show than Staples. The band is much more at ease and alot happier in San Diego. Smaller venue? You gotta hand it to these guy's, they sound great, look great, making million's and in their 50's. RIGHT ON!!!
I heard VH II album is creeping up to 10 million sales. Plus Fair Warning is getting up to 8 million sales. Someone I know that works at Warner Bro informed me of that. So I guess VH will have 3 or 4 Diamond Awards in the next couple of years, and all from the Dave era Van Halen. Something to ponder all you Sammy lovers!! Hearts broken?

I read that Eddie can't get the tone he wants using a wireless. Don't know how much truth there is to that...But if you watch Live Without a net he's using a wireless. And that was 21 years ago.
This is what happens when a man from a band put himself in front of all others. I could agree, that this is more Van Halen than ever - three Van Halens and Dave..their first and somewhat best vocal they had..but..since I have watched 1986 New Heaven and after that all other concerts with Sammy...this clip I could say is just a crap. 1986-1995 - that is why VH becames my favorite band..and now..this - it is a shame :(
You're right he sounds kinda bad here. But, it sounds really different when you're actually there. I went one of the shows and Dave sounded alot better than I thought he would.

I respect you opinion. maybe is the recording sound or maybe not, I see Van Halen in Puerto Rico couple year a go, with Sammy Hagar, The performance of entire band is not bad this ocation, and remember, for this years Eddie have much problems with alcohol and drugs. Any way, I agree with you, Wolfy is not a singer, he need learn a little more about prensence and performance. The band need the voice and experience of Michael Anthony. This is the truth.

In my opinion, this is the worse tour in Van Halen history. The sound, guitar solos and background vocal are bad. They need Michael Antony back. Dave work pretty good, like old time, but Eddie play now like a amateur, he loss the power, the strong of Van Halen.

When DLR sings in his natural range he sounds great. I had 7th row on this tour. It was a great show. Seeing DLR with VH was a dream come true for me.
Vintage VH 78-85! No band during those years had more kick ass tunes!

i think during his solo his volume knob wasn't up all the way or something was wrong with the chord but man that was still awesome
