1) Word out of the program is mild oblique strain, if this Saturday was OU or Georgia he'd play. 2) Arch is crazy talented and has the physical traits, but he's not at the mental level and feel of the game that Ewers is as a 3rd year starter. Ewers took whatever Wink and those first few round picks on Michigan's Defense had and tore it up. Arch is still processing too slow and lacks feel and anticipation in the pocket against top end defenses. He'll get there with experience, probably by next season.
I personally prefer Manning due to his athleticism, arm strength, and quickness making decisions on tucking and running. But, if Ewers is healthy, he needs to start. The guy knows the offense better and has big-game experience on very high levels. It’s his team.
Manning is great and can't wait for his time, yes we will need and use him throughout the season. Quinn and manning are both great qbs, the true difference is 2 thing experience and playbook knowledge which quinn has arch 2 to 1 right now

Quinn Ewers needs to be the guy. Quint is leaving after this season no matter what. If Arch happens to remain the starter over Quinn, Arch will leave for the NFL the after next season. If Quinn remains the starter we have Arch for two more years after Quinn leaves.
Disaster proof? You haven't researched OU games where they put bounties on Texas QBs and RBs. It's NUTHIN' for them to knock out two QBs a game. NUTHIN'. Georgia hurts opposition QBs, too. And back to back? Uh... that means Texas could be down to QB-4? With 5 in wings, hoping for the new few games. And remember the first renewal game against the ags. You’re trying to reduce his value by making a subjective, inexact point that can neither be proven 100% true nor false. Your specific point is to attempt to downplay Arch. @@cameronmiller7980 I don’t know how in the world you came up with I’m trying to downplay him from those six words of my original post. I said the exact same thing about Jeremiah Smith after his first game at Ohio State. Yes, he had a great game, but I told everybody to take a deep breath and give it some time before they proclaim him the next Marvin Harrison Jr. That’s it man, that’s all I was trying to say.
@@fredericklockard3854 you’re looking at one game, I’ve seen him play in more than one game, including his HS tape too. I coach football and if you know what you’re looking at you can understand the plays, what his reads are, and his pocket and his throwing mechanics are all very very good. Dude was literally trained up by his family, it’s to be expected that he’s good at those things, but the fact is he’s also physically gifted to go with it, including a more than serviceable athleticism and speed, clearly. It’s not as simple as it’s just UTSA. If you know how to break down tape and plays, you can clearly see he is making it look easy and he’s actually good af. He’s the real deal. Ewers may be out more than a couple games, there’s a good chance one way or another we see him during a game against a real team when the game isn’t out of hand this year.
Why are we even talking about Texas beating utsa. My 7 yr old can play qb for texas and beat them. Just stop JD. When have you seen arch play against a defense?
He tore up the Texas defense in the spring game....who clearly is good against the pass now. More importantly, why doesnt your 7 yo suit up for any of these teams and do it then? I see most the country have starting QBs struggling vs similar competition this year and every year. I get that you want to downplay it but the fact is he consistently comes in and makes plays happen....every game hes played in he's made a nice play. We'll find out soon enough when he probably gets to play some SEC competition this year and he'll be doing the same shit and you'll have more excuses trying to deny his abilities again. Guarantee it.
Of course his last name was why he was recruited out of high school. That doesn’t mean he didn’t turn out to be talented. George Clooney, Jamie Lee Curtis, Robert Downey Jr, Gwyneth Paltrow - all got a start because of who their families were. No one would say they aren’t talented in their own right.
Chrissy Simms was JUST AS HERALDED - #1 overall recruit HIS year, too, There were constant chants to kick Applewhite off the field and put in wunderkind. Major had to salvage a few wins while Laughing Boy had fun on the bench, but he couldn't save 'em all.

As long as Sark's O-Line won't or can't protect QBs, they'll get hurt - they have EVERY YEAR Sark's been here. That's proven. That's fact.
HUH?
It was UTSA everyone……calm down.
you dont see other starting QBs doing that against lesser opponents. Lets not act like it's literally nothing and you could step in and do that.
@@cameronmiller7980 I wasn’t aware I was saying I could do that, I didn’t literally say it was nothing, and yes backups do come in and play great games all the time. I think you extrapolated a whole lot more than what I actually said, which was; calm down it was a very minor opponent.
@@fredericklockard3854 I’m clearly exaggerating just as you are, but also making a point because your attempt at making a point is ridiculous. You act like he’s running against air. Clearly their opponent wasn’t top notch, but neither has it been for anyone else this year and you don’t see other QBs doing what he’s doing against even worse opponents. You’re trying to reduce his value by making a subjective, inexact point that can neither be proven 100% true nor false. Your specific point is to attempt to downplay Arch. Perhaps you may even be right but you’re certainly biased, and it’s more than likely you’re wrong.
@@cameronmiller7980 I don’t know how in the world you came up with I’m trying to downplay him from those six words of my original post. If you want facts the facts are, they played a very weak opponent and he had a great game. He most definitely looks like a star in the making to me, I’m just merely trying to say this one game against UTSA doesn’t mean he’s arrived.
@@cameronmiller7980 like i said UTSA
