NASA Langley Celebrates "Hidden Figures"

The book and film "Hidden Figures" tell the story of NASA Langley's Katherine Johnson, Dorothy Vaughan, Mary Jackson and other African-American women who were key to the success of early spaceflight. Their achievements were celebrated Dec. 1 with an education broadcast and a private screening of the film, attended by actress Octavia Spencer (who plays Vaughan), NASA Administrator Charlie Bolden, Johnson, Jackson and Vaughan family members, and fellow "human computer" Christine Richie.
