The cage has a pretty simple reason for being there, it's there to hide her face. She is what is called a utaite (Which really just means Singer in Japanese, but it's become more of a culture in recent years to be called this), which is a person who is known and gets popular simply off their voice, and not off what they look like or what they might be seen as. Ado has never shown her face in the around 5 years she's been doing this, and I don't know if she ever will on a later date. I honestly think it's impressive in itself that she has quite a bit of stage presence while still not showing her face and is basically just a shadow.
Io sincera, Ado ho avuto la possibilità di ascoltarla dal vivo a Bruxelles, ed è stata fantastica. Spero di aver una futura possibilità di vederla dal vivo un’altra volta perché in live è (mia opinione) molto più brava rispetto che in studio. Anche se ogni tanto viene odiata in live per “urlare”, io lo trovo un modo differente di cantare e lo rispetto perché cerca di differenziarsi dagli altri cantanti, anche perché cantare 20/25 canzoni a concerto, tutte di fila, tutte con espressività. ceh fire 🔥

She is the closest to a stage musical performer. Usually, the studio version of Ado's songs are much more 'refined' and 'contained' while her live versions are way more intense, emotional and overall 'unhinged'. Please watch the song with lyrics and translation. All of the highs, lows and screams in her vocals are all placed in areas fitting to the lyrics and the story, its insane. You can feel the story without the lyrics, but you'll live through the story when you know the lyrics as well. Ado as usual, storytelling with genius voice play.
