Yes a tag line on the other side would be a good idea. I take it’s a guyed tower Rhon 25 ? I have a free standing HDBX Rohn 98 foot one how much concrete in your base ? I have 10 yards they say will take. 95 MHP wind with a inch of ice on it and not fail lots of welded rebar in that thing I added a aluminum ladder to one side made from aluminum U channel and 1 inch aluminum tubing wide enough for climbing and a platform at the near top to stand one to work on stuff. .
I was holding my breath the whole time knowing that when that tower finally got close to vertical it would fall into vertical and see some pretty strong forces. A cable on the opposite side would have been a good idea to help it ease into vertical position gently. In any case, nothing broke, so that’s a good thing. Congratulations, and thanks for sharing the experience.
Yes it has a washer on it. This was just a test to make sure the rigging was going to work as I designed it. And also there will be some really big antennas and beams on it once it is finished.

@375Cheytac you are absolutely right. I am not trying to hide from anyone. With enough effort you can find anyone. Is it easier to find me? Maybe/probably. But if some one wants to put the effort into coming to my house to spread ill will and hate and discontent, they will find out they need better training. I'm not scared. As far as being able to see the tower, it is not visible from any farther than 100 yards from any direction from how the property sits. Even with the tower being close to 100 feet tall.
Nice fellas, I had always wanted a tall tower. I only could manage 25 feet. What's going on top, 6 & 2 meter? Are you hanging any HF on it. A 20 meter beam would be the cats meow....
If that's for SHTF, who are you calling and who's calling you? Because if I can see an antenna sticking up above the trees, I'm at least going there for temporary shelter. Fringe benefits too. If I need long range out of my 5 watt beyond what the long whip gets, I'll throw some commo wire up in a tree branch and be ready to move towards where the signal gets stronger. Besides, no one is going to be worth talking to at that point. They just might be worth listening to though.
Until SHTF comes (months, years a decade?) he's going to be able to hear Ukraine and Russia when he gets set up! I think it's awesome and I'm not even a HAM guy!
