This is elite level painting... of course, being an illustrator, Mezgike understands light and its properties as well as colours, paints and layering. But transferring it to 3D... that's a whole different animal. Amazing work!
This is only my 5TH video watching you. I am disabled with a brain injury but love war hammer as great therapy. I am no where in painting as you but then I have not seen many who are. Thanks for inspiration.
@@Mezgike I've recently taken interest in painting again after almost 10 years pause, and damn, you've already taught me a lot. Both old things I finally wrapped my head around now and radically new things I'd've never ever thought of - water colour and color pencils, man. The hobby sure has evolved while I was away.
Abel Babel I just like to try new things. You should too, just experiment. Some things work and some don’t. Each experiment teaches you something, though, and that makes you that much better at painting :)
That was spellbinding. I will never possess the eloquence to describe how profoundly beautiful your work is. Not only in this instance of course. But for me, what you have created in that base is nothing short of an artistic miracle. You have literally opened a portal to another world. I could gaze upon that and forever be intrigued and mesmerized by its depth.
Adam Nutter what a beautiful comment to wake up to. Thanks so much Adam, I’m glad you appreciate my work. I hope you enjoy the new content I have been working on.
You haven't posted in awhile, but I just wanted to say thank you for your videos. They have been the best painting tutorials I have followed by far. I was brand new to mini painting and I was depressed with how bad I was, but following your methods has allowed me to paint pieces that look like someone who has been doing it for years. Thank you so much for the education.
You’re welcome my friend. Sorry for the delay with new content. It just takes a long time for me to make them. Also I’ve been working on something cool which will be out soon. Keep painting, keep pushing yourself and keep learning. Remember if it’s easy, try harder! Mez
This is easily one of if not the best miniature painting channels on TH-cam. I WISH there were like 100 videos of you doing this. Thank you for taking the time for us to be able to watch and learn. Youre incredible!
Ok. So I knew you were good. Then you did the base. My guy, you are an unbelievably skilled artist. If every single model you paint gets the treatment you give to your vid models, you have to own the most beautifully painted models in the world. Keep up the Amazing work!
Unbelievable that you've only got ten videos. I've watched every single one of them. This is some really high grade painting right there. Keep it coming, I'm a huge fan of of your work.
I have not painted for years since I actually never really played, just enjoyed painting for my then current boyfriend. By watching your awesome content, which I stumbled on somehow, I really miss those long, happy hours spent with a tiny model and lots of paints. Thank you!
This is insane. He spends two and a half hours for a masterpiece. I need that time for his "blocking in" result and with half the details. Wow. Awesome painting skills.
seriously dude get outta here, this is just mind blowing to watch, absolutely mesmerizing, i cant even comprehend the skill I'm witnessing, so beautiful man!
You are still my number one mini painter of all time - still using this method now on my new star wars shtterpoint mins - waiting for your next release - your content delivery is just right and you go at the right pace teaching along the way - just superb - evening from here on the south coast UK - o7
I think these are the best series of painting tutorials out there. The reason being is the effort put into the before (preparation of the mini/splitting of the sub-sections) and the after (prepping cool base ideas), as well as the general commentary throughout the video. The first time around I watch them, then I have them running in the background almost like a podcast while I am painting. Focusing on the words spoken it is surprising how much you take in whilst doing your own work. I'm keen to see the video about your setup and to see what you are going to paint next. Good work!
Dang Man you hit me hard with the feels there in the middle. I have my own appreciation for a good whetstone and also for missing a granddad. You have a great way of remembering there.
One of the things I love about your work is that you’re not afraid to depart from the “official “ colour schemes in order to create something as amazing as this. Also love your mods.
Thanks for the feedback! I usually have a very specific idea in my mind of how the model should look. I also try to achieve new things that people haven’t necessarily seen before.
Thanks, I used to have a patreon, but decided to switch to TH-cam so I could spend more time with my family and make painting videos in a more relaxed way.
.....seriously this in phenomenal, your style in particular has really stood out to me, ive watched a lot of vids of painters, and some incredible ones at that, but imo your def one of the top, , thank u for the content, im learning a ton
Fantastic video! Very informative information for both newbies and veterans. Love some of your tips, and very well spoken/described, an arsenal of techniques taught in a single vid! Thank you :)
I really enjoy your videos, especially the commentary and talking! Please keep going, in my opinion you have the best miniature painting channel on youtube!
I`m showing your vids to my dadk, 77 years old (he created and painted a full diorama for his marklin trains)... the coolest guy. he loved them and said that you are really talented. He also said (after some lore summary on 40k mostly) that if we ever buy Warhammer (it`s insanely expensive here in Argentina) it will be alpha legion since he enjoyed the Alpharion stuff the most (I`m more of an Angron fan).
Greeting from Ukraine! Your videos inspired me to start painting. Today me and my girlfriend paint our first models. That was two stormcast eternal sequitors and that was awesome experience for both of us. Waiting for your next works!
That’s so awesome for you and your girlfriend, I’m happy for you! Keep painting and you will get better and better each time. I will be back with more videos soon
You sir, are unbelievably talented! Explaining how you came up with the idea while dreaming was cool too. Thank you very much for sharing these detailed videos, they're very interesting and fun to watch!
I'm nowhere near your level of skill but I feel you with the eyes mate. I tend to just paint the whites and while I try to be neat as I can I've stopped caring too much about going outside the lines. After the whites are done I just go back to tidy up with whatever flesh colour I've used for the rest of the head. I find it much easier to paint the outside of the eye than trying to get the white paint neatly into the socket. But yeah, one of the trickiest things to do in my limited experience. Wish someone would invent a tool to do them right first time! I've just found your channel with this video, love the video and your style. Lots of great painting wisdom in there, subbed and notifications on.
awesome video and a fantastic paintjob man! Something I learned from my ventures into scale modelling, regarding clear plastic and resin repair and polish. next time, rather than gloss coating the resin (which btw you can still do afterwards) Try wet sanding the resin in gradually increasing the grain count. So, for example, start wet sanding at 800/1000 grit, then go finer to a 4k/6k grit so on and so forth, until you get to 12k and you will end up with a completely clear and smooth resin finish.
I am really pleased to have found a Mini Painting channel by a Fellow Aussie :D Great stuff oh and thanks for doing real-time tutorials WITHOUT distracting background music and just offering helpful narration. +1 Subscriber. Just after submitting this comment I hear the dreaded BACKGROUND MUSIC, well your other painting tutorial video I watched didn't have music..... 😥
Dude this is absolutely beautiful. I think this scheme like this would look great on regular Eldar too with a couple of tweaks. Possibly my inspiration for an eldar army I’ve been wanting to build for a while!
