    Assume you have:
    10 units of physical discomfort,
    10 units of emotional discomfort,
    10 units of disconcerting imagery,
    and 10 units of negative talk
    With mindfulness, you can keep them all separate:
    10+10+10+10=40 units.
    If they get tangled, it’s 10x10x10x10=10000 units.

    When I did this my body started kind of jerking and I started to get a headache.

      Yeah these things happen. Maybe you overdid it a little. But body movements are not uncommon at all. If it's not too bad, just keep going. But like Shinzen says: be smart about it, know your limits.

    I fear I'm getting goal-driven I want to record my longest sits in strong determination daily so that I can then make some cool graphics and run some time series analysis on my data. is this okay? is it advisable to record daily meditation timings?

      Don't question what you're doing. If you're happiest doing that, do it. Forget others advice and opinions, the path is walked alone.

      its good to push the enveloppe but what u want to do will really strenghten the ego .your spiritual ego will get a good boost and will be more difficult to break through. But i know the feeling, just been sitting for 1.30u and a feel like bragging about it, and its not even that long :D

      @@trissuper1 There is no need to sit to practice "NON-ATTACHMENT" Zen is a technique to separate SELF from MIND. Do not be disturbed by MIND ! Mind will start to behave and offer you much... You can't see the donkey when you're riding it ! Just watch ! Best Wishes Folks !

    Whats your honest thoughts when seeing mr. Sitting and smiling? He sure dosnt seem sane at all. And he sitts like crazy. For years. Im so diapointed to hear him talk, i thought. Well sitting will be the awnser. Nope. It did nothing. I give up.
