I see that many reviewers don’t understand why there is an EV mode. My explanation is, it’s for driving indoors, fx. drive thru stores and backing into garage.
I personally own a 2017 hybrid limited and no regrets buying it. Also I'm only 20 btw so that says something hopefully. I haul 1500 lbs on it no problem and gas mileage is averaging 28mpg with my foot in the pedal or 80% of time on sport mode.
I like the hybrid RAV4, it's easily the best in class for fuel consumption. Either model with radar cruise gets great mileage when drafting on the highway, I have gotten 40+ MPG on the highway when drafting behind a truck at about 105 KPH/65MPH.
Merci.
Great review. I was considering the gas version but now wondering if the hybrid might be better for me. Most of my driving is City driving for very short trips to work and back (10 minute each way). Would this be a useful case for a hybrid or is it too short of trips to charge, etc.? Thanks.
Thanks for the quick response. There is a normal amount. I only travel about 8 miles each way and it is not highways. So, normal amount of lights, stop signs, etc. Aside from work travel, I'm in a fairly congested area so traffic can be bad but normally I don't have to deal with that too much. I only travel about 10K miles per year.

I agree - Toyota should really remove that EV button on anything that doesn't have a plug-in capability; it is akin to false marketing.

I need more info about hybrid version, does it worth to buy? I am not fan of changing the car yearly...
What are your needs when it comes to a SUV? Space? Fuel consumption? Performance? AWD?

I presume there is a lot of stop and go on the way to work?

I am buying the gas version only reason was the monthly payments was coming $150 more on hybrid.
it depends if you drive a lot in the city. Hybrid makes a lot different.
I do 50 50 highway city driving? Which is better gas or hybrid?
Hybrid is not very useful on the highway, it's gonna be even longer until you roll enough K's to save on fuel Vs the hybrid price.
Merci pour votre reponse rapide!

Rav 4 ibrid😂
Why is the UK version 197 bhp and the states version 194 bhp? Same engine and electric motors.
MrPeteJMc
It’s different measure methods.
I asked Toyota and they said that the engine plus emotor are 197 hp but after the friction etc the power output comes down to 194 bhp.
MrPeteJMc
Yes, N. America uses the friction included, but Europe exclude it.
Dorval? Point Claire?

I like the technology but the car looks very dated. They got the Lexus NX right but it has the feel of a much smaller vehicle than the Rav 4.
