Mate, thanks for this it's invaluable information for when I want to manual swap. The ATEMU is the only part I'm unfamiliar with and this really clears it up + we now know what mode and gear to select!

Not. Because this is very much like the jzx110. Different ECU

Hey george, just a quick question, did you need a new ecu to tune it or were you able to tune it with the stock ecu. cheers
Stock ECU. But its my understanding I was quite lucky with the fueling being ok. 171 are not 110s or 100s
Did you have any stalling issues prior to the emulator? Like if your in traffic and rev it up to inch forward and then when the rpm comes down the ecu isn’t catching it being to low and it stalls?
I have the emulator haven’t installed it yet but I was hoping it would fix this issue otherwise the car runs fine. Great content glad to see someone else manual swapped their crown

@@GeorgeHampl so I realized maybe my car was idling low because the ecu needed to relearn idle as the ecu resets when it’s unplugged. So once I warmed it up and came to a stop it was idling low but as I continued driving it idles just fine. I have issues occasionally in traffic where when I start pulling up if I give it to much gas and push the clutch in and the brake the idle drops to quick and it dies but that’s something I can live with as there is no vacuum leaks that I can hear or see.

First run was no emulator at all then changing settings?
I don’t have emulation but I’ve got a manual swapped 171 I got the Innovate Boost controller arriving next week and the Premium Japan manual throttle conversion arriving in a few weeks.
Interested to see how it comes to life with just those things but if I’m losing 30hp to the ECU then I need to get on this!

Can you post a link to the wiring diagrams and the emulator? I was hoping you would explain what those wire all connected to. Any chance of a recap video?
That video would take forever. The ATEMU supplier should provide the correct diagram for your car.

Just air filter and boost controller. Came with catback from Japan.

Hey George whereabouts did you get the ECU Pinout diagram from for the JZS171? I have the emulator aswell just waiting to be wired in, just need the pinout diagram from the ecu

No remapping. These ECU can't be remapped

As far as fuel is concerned all I know is Vpower has a few more cleaning additives than most fuels. Gives the car an internal clean supposedly. Mines never ran good on tesco fuel though.

About £1300 worth of parts
thank you for testing all the modes haha its been driving me nuts not knowing what was best. Also how much boost was it running?
No problems. About 0.95 bar. Sometimes peaks at 1

Amazing content bröther I have a s171 VX and soon gonna push it to 1.1 bar with a front and boost controller, just worried about auto trans really wish I can have the help lol
Manual is the way. Be careful with 1.1 Bit too much for the stock turbo
