Geez woody point has gone ahead since I was there, thanks , I hope to get back there one day. There was just a pub and a fish n Chip shop 25 years ago.
Thanks for the fly-over Redcliffe, the home of my first teaching job, after being recruited by the Labor Government in power. I was one of many teachers recruited who signed up for a job anywhere in Queensland. I was fortunate to spend time at the high school. Later, I was a Lecturer at Kelvin Grove College of Advanced Ed. I haven't been back since 1978. I know I would be shocked to see all the change. I loved that Brisbane was a big country town back then. All the best.
Shit , sounds like a Labor commercial. If you want to know how they treat the lowly Reg.Nurse. reach out to me I lost a carrer , home , the lot . Union in Queensland, SMD. All tarred together , close ranks. Shed those that are expendable. Qld gov , Qld health . Really, the whole State is fucked under Labor regime. It's cost me everything. 🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺👍🦘🦘🦘 Oh. Tomorrow is Australia Day , and don't let anyone say it's not.
The water is very shallow and the deepest parts are int he channel running under the bridge and even ther it is only about 2 meters deep at High tide. So if the wind blows anc chops up the water it gets muddy.
@@chriscflint I'd like to find out more about the amity memorial plaque. I'm coming over later this year and would like to astonish my grandchildren with this information.
The old bridge was great and the new one lacks the historical appeal, but unfortunately the age of the wood meant the upkeep was just not possible. Riding over the new bridge on the walking and bike lane is still great.
Hay i went to Humptybong state school at Margate in my early days , we were living at Red Cross Children home at the time, the home has been demolished

Going from Sandgate to Margate looks good, but from there to Redcliffe looks muddy.

@@chriscflint Sandgate was called mud gate ha-ha.
Redcliffeis actually beach sandy whereas Sandgate has what looks muddy but is just dark sea sand.
How do you go to redcliffe and not mention the bee gees. That's like going to Liverpool and not mentioning the beatles.
Fair comment we need to do the city and the beach front where the Bee Gees walk way is.

Its down on the beach front where all the restuarants are. Lots to see in the area you will enjoy it.@@colinvincent9101
I crossed the old bridge many times on my bike. A lovely ride unless you had a strong head wind. Great scenery and a good place to live.

Go the Dolphins.
Where is the Horneybrook Bridge?
Hi the opening sequence is flying through the old bridge entrance and on the Right hand side is the newer replacement bridges.

Hi Brian, I immigrated here 27 years ago and my son went to the tiny Kippa Ring school and daughter to Delasale (not sure how to spell that)
