We can have a Resistance 0 prequal. We can go to Russia with an American comando unit to see where and how it all started. We can have a Resistance 4, go to their planet to try to fight them from that point of vieuw. Maby the Crimera have taken Hale and revived them in some sort of Daeadalus hybrid and we can see him back. We can have a Resistance collab where 1 of the storys of the PS Vita came in to play, where we meet the characters from "Burning skys" or "Retribution" So many storys to be told. And the fans want to hear all of them. Such a waste to not continue with this great franchise.

I loved Resistance 3 the most in the franchise, it moved back to the roots of resistance 1 in terms of gameplay (thank god they took out the regen health and 2 weapon limit), and the story was great, and although I like many fans wish that the Chimera's backstory was fleshed out more, I still enjoyed the series immensely. Ted, PLEASE make a Ratchet and Clank HD collection. Seriously, I'd even just settle for Up Your Arsenal because it still is my favorite game in the entire series.
I only hopped onto Insomniac Games when the first Ratchet & Clank game came out and it has been a great ride ever since. I'm glad there are other people who think the same. I'm quite excited to see what they bring out on the next-gen consoles.
Gotta admit, R2 soured me big time on the franchise. But R3 brought it home - you guys created (dare I say) a masterpiece. And you know what? Go out with your finest effort and move on. Fine work, Insomniac. Looking forward to the future. And THANK you!

I hope you guys get more freedom to work on your epic signature series Ratchet & Clank, and I'm eager to see how you develop Overstrike with the knowledge and experience you got from Resistance. Thanks for the video! As an Insomniac Games game, I believe Resistance 3 is a great place to leave the series. There are more than just several directions the game can go, and if the next team are willing to make sense of it, they can even go as far as incorporating time machines and alternative universes. I can even see a Resistance game set in our modern society, possibly going for the whole "the humans have won....or so they thought" route. I'm sure we'll see more of it in the future.
I didn't get into Resistance 1 or 2 at all. But Resistance 3 was wkd, even though the story was a little bit duff. It was fun, you were always shooting stuff up in a different way. And at the end of the day...thats awesome!

no no no THANK YOU! resistance 1 not only was a great game, it saved the ps3 launch from being a complete failure. 2 was cool and had an addicting online, just wished the chimera would jump on u like part 1. I also remember busting my ass with yard work n such to save enough to buy it at launch, it was worth it. 3 just blew me away, loved it, best one, my favorite one. I'll never forget the fun i had with them and how the Resistance series made the PS3 shine, thanks again insomniac.
The first Resistance is still one of my favourite FPS on the PS3. Great and long campaign. Split screen co-op is awesome on this game too. And i'm in love with Rachel Parker. ^^
Resistance was a great series, its a shame that Insomniac reached a barrier. Lets be honest here Resistance 2 to 3 had so many holes left unanswered; planet in the sky, Hale's final words, the bigger enemy, and what about Grayson or the Cloven? They took a realistic approach to an extraordinary game which made the end feel like a cope out. I thank Insomniac for Resistance and the special moments we enjoyed, but please don't give up half way and hurt us the fans :(

You guys don't know how upset I am. I respect Insomniac's decision, and I understand their point of view. And I know I'm being over dramatic and people are going to say "its just a game." But to me, video games are my main source of entertainment and my best form of escapism. Its sad to see my favourite game series being put to rest. This series means a lot to me. There are very few games where I can play the campaign over and over again without getting bored. Resistance is one of them.

Resistance 1 was my first FPS. The third one was an amazing game. By mixing absurd gunplay with a more serious (and all-around well written) story, it filled a niche I never even knew existed. I hoped to see the pure chimera at some point, but I respect R3's ending all the more, knowing it IS the end. Hope that Overstrike reaches the same heights, and that you continue making good games for a long time.

i love the resistance trilogy and its sad to c the series gt passbut it was a good choice. Resistance is probably tied for my favorite game right next to spyro the dragon...spyro was my favorite as a child and now resistance is my favorite as a teenager but my only problem is i wish they would patch resistance 3 because it is a little buggy storymode and online...and i also really miss the resistance 2 advanced hybrids which i thought would be in the resistance 3 game online and story mode
They're not "giving up", they're still developing games for the PlayStation such as Ratchet and Clank. They are just expanding the roster their titles can be released on like with Overstrike. They gave up on Spyro and we got Ratchet and Clank from that. Now, they're leaving behind Resistance we will get Overstrike from that. I'm not saying that Overstrike will be better than Resistance, but it could be a great game, that they're leaving one good franchise in exchange for another good one.

As much as I wanted it to be you guys who made Resistance 4 I'm okay with this. As long as Resistance doesn't suffer the same fate as Spyro it's fine. I would have liked closure to the Pure Chimera storyline (if you can even consider it a storyline) but I'm sure the (hopefully) talented company this goes to will do a great job. I am really looking forward to Overstrike, (hopefully) your next Ratchet and Clank and all of your future games and IP's.

I'm glad that many companies are changing, like IG, Bungie and 2015(old infinity ward [Respawn Entertainment]) are dynamic enough to accept the risk of abandoning franchises and trying to bring something fresh. I'm sick of franchises that are the same thing over and over.

I am hoping that Sony will give the rights to a developer that will make a Resistance game using the RFoM formula with the hip fire gameplay. Like the exact same gameplay structure as the first game.

My personal reason on why Resistance isn't continuing is that R3 did poorly on the market. R3 had full potential, but it did not achieve the satisfaction I intended to receive. I even thought another Resistance game was going to be made considering the journals that was on R3 made it sound compelling for a mid-sequel. I still have all 3 and Resistance 2 is my all time favorite...... R.I.P Resistance.
The Resistance concept is one of my favourates, somthing about the Chimera and it being set in the 50s is genius. Plus each weopon was unique and had alot of thought put into it. Very sad to see this happen.
I really wish Resistance would go back to its root in terms of gameplay. Resistance 1 was the best. Here's hoping for an "alternate story" or "different character" for the original one. I just love the gameplay and how low the grapgics was. Gameplay is more important than graphics. So I still play Resistance 1 time to time. Good luck Resistance series!
Translation from PR talk: out contract with Sony ended and we're moving on to multi-platform games. Come on Ted, there's nothing to be ashamed of, we know how it works.
What happened to Spyro was because the series was left in the hands of Universal Interactive Studios, who only cared about how much money they could milk out of the series before it dried up. Sony, at least, seems to care more about their IP's and as long as they have capable developers working on Resistance than it should be fine.
@iqon97 - Insomniac is one of the most respected developers out there. They've been incredibly successful. Spyro, Ratchet and Clank, and Resistance. And now they're coming out with Overstrike. Nobody is thinking that they're going to be shut down. Far from it. Sony still owns Resistance and Ratchet and Clank. Which means that if Insomniac wants to continue with Ratchet, then it will be on the PS3 (or 4). All they have done is expand the number of people who will get to play their games.
I'm not that hurt over the fact that Insomniac isn't making anymore Resistance games. As a matter of fact, I'm Curious of where the series will go, and how the next game will turn out. If Bungie can choose stop making Halo games and work on something with activision, then Insomniac can choose to stop with resistance and work on something with EA.

Remake RFOM for PS4. But have the same look of RFOM, just better looking. So me and new players can have fun.

resistance 3's single player is the bes i've ever played. the weapon system and target and shooing mechanics are perfectly combined . love it!

As much as I wanted it to be you guys who made Resistance 4 I'm okay with this. As long as Resistance doesn't suffer the same fate as Spyro it's fine. I would have liked closure to the Pure Chimera storyline (if you can even consider it a storyline) but I'm sure the (hopefully) talented company this goes to will do a great job.
I am really looking forward to Overstrike, (hopefully) your next Ratchet and Clank and all of your future games and IP's.

Wow. That's a genuinely nice bit of community outreach. I'm rather impressed. Insomniac have always impressed with their dedication to the art of gaming.
I'm glad that many companies are changing, like IG, Bungie and 2015(old infinity ward [Respawn Entertainment]) are dynamic enough to accept the risk of abandoning franchises and trying to bring something fresh. I'm sick of franchises that are the same thing over and over.

Don't be upset resistance fans The SCE Bend Studio who create the retribution on psp and Nihilistic Software the Burning skies for ps vita make a good jod for portable resistance and im sure continue in the next PS4

I am hoping that Sony will give the rights to a developer that will make a Resistance game using the RFoM formula with the hip fire gameplay. Like the exact same gameplay structure as the first game.

I apologise on behalf of some of the ridiculous comments here that seem to believe that a studio's talent, creativity and vision suddenly disappears overnight when a game is developed for different platforms.

Firs of all he's pretty good guy,I mean come on! it's obvious and second of all happy to see Resistance is not dead what so ever it's gonna be made by any company or whatever the resistance is the most important thing here.WE JUST LIKE TED ARE FAN BOYS OF THE RESISTANCE.
My personal reason on why Resistance isn't continuing is that R3 did poorly on the market. R3 had full potential, but it did not achieve the satisfaction I intended to receive. I even thought another Resistance game was going to be made considering the journals that was on R3 made it sound compelling for a mid-sequel. I still have all 3 and Resistance 2 is my all time favorite...... R.I.P Resistance.
The Resistance concept is one of my favourates, somthing about the Chimera and it being set in the 50s is genius. Plus each weopon was unique and had alot of thought put into it. Very sad to see this happen.
I really wish Resistance would go back to its root in terms of gameplay. Resistance 1 was the best. Here's hoping for an "alternate story" or "different character" for the original one. I just love the gameplay and how low the grapgics was. Gameplay is more important than graphics. So I still play Resistance 1 time to time. Good luck Resistance series!
Translation from PR talk: out contract with Sony ended and we're moving on to multi-platform games. Come on Ted, there's nothing to be ashamed of, we know how it works.
What happened to Spyro was because the series was left in the hands of Universal Interactive Studios, who only cared about how much money they could milk out of the series before it dried up. Sony, at least, seems to care more about their IP's and as long as they have capable developers working on Resistance than it should be fine.
Overstrike looks completely awesome. Dreamworks movie style game? Yes please.

@iqon97 - Insomniac is one of the most respected developers out there. They've been incredibly successful. Spyro, Ratchet and Clank, and Resistance. And now they're coming out with Overstrike. Nobody is thinking that they're going to be shut down. Far from it. Sony still owns Resistance and Ratchet and Clank. Which means that if Insomniac wants to continue with Ratchet, then it will be on the PS3 (or 4). All they have done is expand the number of people who will get to play their games.

I'm not that hurt over the fact that Insomniac isn't making anymore Resistance games. As a matter of fact, I'm Curious of where the series will go, and how the next game will turn out. If Bungie can choose stop making Halo games and work on something with activision, then Insomniac can choose to stop with resistance and work on something with EA.
they don't own the rights to that game anymore but I'm with you, the spin-offs have messed up what we used to know as spyro.

It would have been nice if R3 had more of a conclusion though, in regards to who the Chimera are and where they come from.

@A7C11 insomniac never said they were going multiplatform they said OVERSTRIKE would be multiplatform, they say they are still going to support sony in the same announcement video where they announced multiplatform

Glad Resistance is done and I hope Ratchet goes the same way too. Insomniac are far too talented to do unlimited sequels. Can't wait for Overstrike it looks mighty interesting and here's hoping Insomniac create many new exciting IP's for years to come.
