Sir, I have heard that, geratric medicine after SRship geriatric med docs are not getting jobs... , there is lack of job opportunities..
They have to join as as emergency med..docs Or in other branch...BUT not in branch they have studied. . ie geriatric branch..
Also... Since ex HOD sir of geriatric med in AIIMS Delhi... has retired and.. Since then things are going down Hill...
Sir I am also asking coz I am really intrested in branch..... (Infact it wz at top of my mind)...But the reviews from SRs have not been Great...
So I needed objective approach...
Sir did you pursue geriatric medicine further?

Ma'am , I want to ask , do we get to diagnose in geriatric medicine? Do we treat ? Do we do procedures?
Or is it like a branch which just refers patients to other departments? Or is it like already diagnosed cases which are being managed ?

kindly make a VIDEO on MD in TROPICAL MEDICINE . As per mci / nmc its a speciality branch of clinical medicine. MD in tropical medicine done at school of tropical medicine kolkata since 1985, only institute in India which provide pg degree and diploma ( DTM & H) .MD tropical medicine dr. s are eligible for DM in INFECTIOUS dis.
i think it will be very informative & helpful for younger doctors who want to work in tropical medicine and infectious dis. in India and abroad .
