  • This week, Patrik joined Rasmus at the roastery to discuss our latest win in the Danish AeroPress Championships, unpacking Rasmus’ recent performance, recipe and technique.
    There are many things to think about when competing in an AeroPress championship, such as how to evaluate the coffee, choosing your style of techniques and recipes as well as controlling the variables you have access to such as water, grinders and additional coffee tools.
    In this weeks episode Rasmus discusses his approach, and demonstrates his recipe and techniques. We’ve tried to cover all of the bases during this discussion, but if there’s something that we’ve not explained in detail that you would like to learn more about, please write your questions in the comments and we’ll continue the discussion over the coming weeks.
    We're always interested in hearing what topics you're most curious to hear us discuss, and social media is a great way of reaching out to us if you would like to make a request.
    We welcome your thoughts and feelings on the topics raised in this weeks video, as well as other ideas you would like to see us discuss in the future. We really appreciate your feedback and support.

    Thanks for sharing this.
    I've never been a huge fan of the aeropress. I've had interesting cups from AP (namely dillution recipes like this one), but not something that would replace my V60.

      i'm the exact opposite. I use AP every day because it's much more forgiving for all different coffees. I hardly use the V60, Kalita.

    As someone interested in entering Aeropress competitions, what advice do you have regarding learning to create and creating my own recipes?

      Thank you for watching. We have used metal filters and as it stands we prefer paper versions.

    Congrats Rasmus! Did you build your own water for the comp? If yes do you mind sharing the recipe? Cheers

      Thanks Rasmus! Any particular reason why you didn't want to build your own water and decided to use Third wave?

    When you flip the AeroPress there's no way to avoid some dripping right away. But this water just barely had contact with water, so should be unextracted.
    What do you think?

    • @coffeewithapril
      @coffeewithapril  26 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      You would have to taste the total cup to determine the quality of that extraction. Coffee is never uniformed extracted which means that a little bit of spill should not make much difference.

    What is the name of the special aeropress filter?

    • @coffeewithapril

      It's referenced in the video.

    • @SuperPimpek123

      They're called Aubade Aesir.

    • @eldricstuart411
      @eldricstuart411 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The filters are sold under the name AESIR which is a Nordic mythology reference, but our company, Aubade manufactures them. You can pick them up on Amazon or from some distributors. Shoot us an email if you have any questions.
