See the thing is, people buy cars and pay more for low mileages examples without realizing that in fact a higher mileage car that's been maintained, serviced, parts replaced and looked after is probably better for most people than a low mileage car that's been hammered, or maybe one that's not been used enough. I always remember Joshua Winters of Haylett RV who says a low mileage motorhome, which is basically the same principle is sometimes not as good as a slightly higher-mileage example because the oil and coolants and lubricants have to get run through the engine and gearbox regularly to stop the motor seizing up and other parts failing. Plus of course it means the thing was being used and actively watched over. Well if you look at it like cars, yes they do have a shelf life and say a car that's got 300,000 might be on it's last legs, all depends which model your talking about of course but I'd rather buy one at that mileage knowing the person had a full service history and as they'd been using it regularly and been a decent person they probably spotted when something was wrong and fixed it promptly. Not saying it always works that way because you don't want something that is genuinely worn out which some ex=hire and company cars can be, but ye can all see my point hopefully, the fact we place soo much emphasis on the mileage gives clockers even in today's digital age another weapon to target us with which wouldn't be the case if more people didn't put soo much store by it and looked more at other things. Which most of us probably know nowadays since this video was broadcast but just thought I'd bring that obvious point up. Cheers.

Nowadays all you need is a laptop. Plug it in and with the right software just edit the mileage to whatever you want! Some dealers do it 'legally'.
Yes, I've even seen it advertised as "mileage recalibration."
