I decided to play this game cuz I beat every game I own on 3DS. That was not a mistake. This is a game that deserves to be in a list of top 5 games of all time in my books.
It seriously is probably my favorite rpg/jrpg i have ever played, game is just spectacular in every single way, from setting/world to story, visual, gameplay, characters, soundtrack. XC2 was also very good (the story/setting imo was a bit worse than XC1 but it makes up with the combat system, by far one of the best combat system ive ever seen on a single player rpg, specially in the late game), i cant wait to see XC3 later this year, monolith soft sure knows how to make masterpieces.
@@ruggie.74 I'm pretty sure it's not actually orchestrated, it sounds like it's done with digital/fake instruments via a computer program. the soundtrack doesn't need a remaster though, the soundtrack is already fantastic enough. you don't need real instruments to sound good.

For years I've imagined a Xenoblade Chronicles animated series. This would be additionally be used as the "previously on" segment before "You Will Know Our Names" kicks in for the opening.
The remaster is great, but this version fits the game a lot more IMO. The remastered soundtrack as a whole feels like that to me, solid remixes that would be awesome in Smash but the OG Xenoblade music is absolutely perfect in the game itself.

I just love that when robots invade and seem to be invincible/impossible to even damage at all that the hero still charges head even tho there is no chance of victory while giving it all and risking his own life. Such display of bravery is amazing
Xenoblade Chronicles definitite edition was the first time i go to played xenoblade, i already knew of it cause well i'm a gamer and came across you will know our names and since then i fell in love with the game, just cause of one song, i couldn't wait to get my hands on it and when i did and i got to listen to that in combat oh man i felt chills down my spine, i idied obviously cause i was underlevel but fuck me did i try several times just to jam to that song and then when SPOILERS and listen to the rest of the soundtrack, oh man, i had the best 100+ hours of my entire life. Xenoblade is one of those special games that even with it's flaws manage to charm me from begining to end and now i cannot wait for Xenoblade 3.

This song is one of the best boss themes I have EVER HEARD. The intro is so powerful, and then... 0:53 happens. My god, that shift to a more melodic motif really drives this one home. It's like you are going up against an actual hard boss, trying to survive. Especially in Mechonis Core. The DE version just is a lot less climactic, and therefore just feels a lot more slower. This is the best version. Another fact is this is actually in another mode rather than major/minor, this is in the Phrygian Mode.
And Shulk s vision interrups it lol. The OG (this one) remains the best and IMO and gets you into what is happening on the screen way better. It puts you into an epic battle where everyhting is on the line, the re-recorded version fells like just "a song in there" with no consequence. I do not anyhting about modes, know that there are some where a minor scale has the same notes a its relative major, but that is where my music theory ends, lol. But you just "feel" it when you listen to them, it feels right with the OG. It is the case for the whole soundtrack actually.
Imo both conveys their intended purpose perfectly This one is more sequenced so this fits for that movie feel, that one is more for gameplay (easier to hear for me, this one is more complex)

The older I get the more I expand the games I try and im so finicky besides Mario's, pokemon, or octopath traveler, xenoblade is one of the 4 series that captures me. I cried mercilessly during 3 and my gf kept teasing me then she played it and was baby crazy for like 2 months haha
I came here to listen to this song in its entirety for once. Thank you Shulk, lol. Also, the OG is best. the re-recorded version is cool with more heavy guitars and stuff, but the OG has the atmosphere down.
I think a lot of the remastered versions sound too dry. The sound very much like they were recorded in a studio and patched together, while the original versions feel like there's a rock orchestra playing it right at you. One thing I do like about the remastered version of this track though is the bassline is extra heavy and I love it.

This one sounds like desperation and struggle, while the remastered sounds more menacing and chaotic. I guess both have their value, but I just associate the scenes it plays in with desperation, so my personal pick is the original.

On this day many years ago I decided to buy this game because of funny meme man from smash, I am not 170 hours into 3 and haven't even beaten it yet. This series is truly magical
The older I get the more I expand the games I try and im so finicky besides Mario's, pokemon, or octopath traveler, xenoblade is one of the 4 series that captures me. I cried mercilessly during 3 and my gf kept teasing me then she played it and was baby crazy for like 2 months haha

I came here to listen to this song in its entirety for once. Thank you Shulk, lol. Also, the OG is best. the re-recorded version is cool with more heavy guitars and stuff, but the OG has the atmosphere down.
I think a lot of the remastered versions sound too dry. The sound very much like they were recorded in a studio and patched together, while the original versions feel like there's a rock orchestra playing it right at you. One thing I do like about the remastered version of this track though is the bassline is extra heavy and I love it.
@@KevinLeroyGrant yeah. Funny how the OG is mostly "synthethic" and sounds so authentic (the charm of keyborad game music from the old days I guess). They eventually recorded the new game's songs with the orchestra and stuff like 2 and 3.
