UNDERTALE: Last Breath - Phase 5: "The Pointless Pursuance" - Cyclonic Original

What happens in between phase 4 and 5:
Asgore, who had come to intervene, discovers Sans slowly melting into the ground. Rather than sticking to Flowey's plan, (Who was already absorbed by Sans) Asgore gives Sans his own soul, in hopes to stop him from melting any further. Sans calls in a trident to honor his king, but modifies it into a spear, in order to also honor his fallen friend, Undyne.
He's accepted the fact that he can't win. But he also still refuses to give up. He pursues his goal to stop the human, despite knowing it's pointless. In his melted form, he can't take any damage, resulting in an endless cycle where neither side can die.

Here is my fanon version of phases 6 and 7:
Phase 6: inturing lullaby: sans uses the last of his strength to make almost impossible moves in the battlefield in the hopes of making this still an endless fight, but fails again and dies.
Phase 7: Tropophobia: Gaster uses hacks to fuse with sans and in the end just launches to a "DIE" button, where the soul will forever suffer an eternity of refusing and dying.
