Am I the only one that thinks what Mariam did to those girls wouldn’t have even been that bad if their family weren’t horrible people and treated their daughters like crap. They probably would have just got grounded if the girls had normal families. Like Ruquyya’s mom called her broken, dirty, and ugly, Rania’s dad hit her because he is a raging alcoholic, and Layan has completely overprotective boarding on abusive brothers and father. Where her brother literally pointed a gun at her. (Now we know where Layan gets her anger issues from) Like their family should be held accountable for the horrible things they did and said to their daughters including how Mariam’s mom reacted to what Layan did to her.
That's not an excuse for attempted murder
@@rukaahachi9843 I never said it was. I was strictly talking about what Mariam did to them not what the other girls did to her. I can’t remember because it’s been a while since I’ve watched the show but did Mariam try to kill them?

The most ironic thing about this show is that it was made only 2 years ago, yet you'd expect most schoolgirl characters now to be more popular and more famous, instead of being shy and possibly suicidal like Mariam.

Mariam wanted to stop but the Noaf and Dina pushed her and then she couldn't stop. I mean no one deserves to die and we don't even know of the brother shot Layan

I have a theory. What if Layan just wasn't noticed at home and that's why she treats Mariam badly at school, because she thinks it'll get her attention and all that, because we can see that she has a good side when she saved Noaf. Still Mariam deserved her revenge just i feel kinda sad for Layan in the end. After Episode 5 she started to grow on me
she accused mariam of sa and being gay in a super conservative country, beat her and left her for dead, turned the whole school and her family against her, exposed her personal thoughts of her dealing with mental illness, then showed no remorse. being unnoticed at home is a pitiful excuse for an excuse.

You may hate layan and her friends but if you watch till episode 6 you will feel so bad…. Layan soon gets killed,Raqqeya takes off her hijab and ruins her life and I think whatever is gonna happen to rania will happen in next season.. hopefully Mariam finds out that layan died so she won’t do anything to Rania..can’t wait for next season! I hope nothing bad happens…

I understood Layan and her friends have strict families and deal with expectations. However it’s no excuse for everything they did, they treat some people nice but others horribly. She nearly got Mariam killed, took Noaf’s little sisters inhaler, lied about sexual assault and humiliates people.
Well... I do feel bad about layan and ruqqaya. I guess I am a little bit like Noor Taher (the actor that played layan) I love the villains more then the heroes

God knows I tried to feel empathy for Layan but I couldn't find any reason to feel... she asked for it.
Seriously? Thanks to you I know I am so blessed with empathy because I don't even have to try. If Layan was mean it is because she was so frustrated at home, she wasn't listened to, she wasn't cared about, she was just guarded, like a museum. When she speaks to her father he barely listens to her and he supports her brother (who killed her at the end) that puts pressure on her by saying that this is love and care... What a lot of women in any culture, any geographical area have already experienced...
Anyway, so she started to do go with the flow of her emotions/passions and stopped caring about people around her since she was acquainted with people not really caring about what she is and wants.
Anytime you encounter wickedness, know that they are hurt people hurting people. Yes, it shouldn't be like this but it is an automatic defense mechanism that people do not control. They can only understand if they, or someone they love, experience it or if someones tries to explain it to them with images, analogies, examples, links that they can relate to and understand.

Layan died for something she didn't do without ever understanding a bit of the extent of what she made Mariam went through, and you think that's balanced?
No one learned anything from this tragedy excepted Mariam. She learned that revenge is as stupid as bullying and can cause you more damage you had already had to cope with !
I stand by what I've said, Layan and Mariam are both victims, and it shows in season 2 in which Mariam seems just disheartened by Layan's death.

Thanks to you I know I’m blessed with a brain because you’re trying to justify for the actions of a bully, being mistreated at home doesn’t mean you’re allowed to take that anger out on other people who have no fault in whatever you’re going through, this person has a good point, Layan didn’t deserve to die but still she was a very cruel person and it’s not the easiest thing to have empathy for her

Honestly mariam went a little bit too far
I get that but Mariam was beat to near death and accused of sexually assault which could have possibly got her killed and they exposed her mental issues. Mariam just exposed what they were doing not physically hurting them Layan dying was too much
