Tropical prediction: Atlantic awakening approaching

The tropical Atlantic may be getting busy in the next week. Stay tuned to find out more about potential hurricanes and tropical storms in the region. After a quiet spell in the tropical Atlantic, saharan dust seems to wane and tropical waves coming off of Africa will start to have a slightly better chance of developing as they come westward. One wave that's coming off of Africa now is starting to show up on forecast models in about a week to a week and a half near the windward islands. While this is a long ways out in time for forecasting tropical systems, it does give us an idea that the hurricane season is starting to pick back up.
