I bought some CHEAP O after market frame horns for my rat rod and surprisingly they were junk so I built my own , so fix your own in the long run is the best way and is much better than using someone else’s bad ideas .
I just came across you on youtube. I really like your old school attitude. as a hotrodder for over 50 yrs I enjoy watching someone who brings a traditional rod back to life. I will continue to watch your progress on this rebuild. 33 and 34 roadsters and coupes are my favorites and with a blown or injected hemi is nirvana to me.
You really did a GREAT JOB bringing those frame horns back from the dead! I can tell you have experience with working and welding the metal. I watched from the beginning... and wasn't sure if you were able to do such nice work. I've watched this coupe project from the beginning, and plan to enjoy seeing your vision for this '34 come to life. Wasn't sure after your trunk latch episode... This work shows you have more skills then we know! Carry on! Frank Parks in Summerville, GA.
I certainly appreciate your support and the kind words. I definitely felt as though I had lost some faith in some of the viewers... I’m reeling ya back in though. Ha. That’s good. I’m not the best at everything... as you will see. But I’ve got a vision for the car, I plan on using the right parts and the best pieces I’ve found along the way. I’m glad you’re following along ! Thank you again. Mike.
Looks good! I didn't know about the double walled frame. I shop the same welding store down here in Bucks County Pa and I've seen those clamps. I love tools too. 👍🍺
John Adams when I was picking up the coupe. Brad (the gentleman I bought the car from) and I walked into his big shop and the remnants of the orig 32 grill shell were crafted onto another grill shell hanging on the wall. I would have loved to had the complete orig grill shell, however I have an old original I will place on the car. However I think I’ll run the 34 later on. I’m going to have to section the 34 shell. As much as I hate to cut it. It will never work once the weight of the motor and trans are in the car. The 32 shell will work without cutting it though. Thanks for the comment and the great info. This is my dream car.
John Adams it’s not much different up here in Mass. Mother Nature and Salt and calcium on the streets destroy everything. Anything good at this point was put indoors many years ago. If you’re lucky enough to be the one to find it you better have the money to buy it on the spot. Word travels fast when an old hotrod gets uncovered. I’ve been extremely fortunate to have found some incredibly solid cars. The 34 being the cream of the crop.
John Adams I did ! Thank you for sharing ... Weird look with the quarter windows filled. I don’t mind the 32 grill. I know it was a popular thing back then. Love the early Olds power !
Ya your rite don't over think it just jump in get your hands dirty and just take it one step at a time and soon enuff you'll be done one of my best video's I watch he over thinks every think and it just eats up his time and I've told time and time again not over think it but he can't help himself and yes it has taken him long time to build his project and he is building a boat that he's work on for 5 years now and thinking to much is why it has taken so long
Hi, love the content. Can I ask please , can you not flick the camera around so much ? its dizzying to watch and maybe clean the lense ? duno if thats why it is so blurry ? Thanks , cool car , love your channel , cheers.
This Old Hotrod This was the first video I had seen of yours. I’ll try another. Actually, at first, it looked promising as you can see what you are doing without setting camera angles, etc. but maybe it’s too real or maybe technology can’t yet smooth our movements. I do a lot of fabrication but few have the patience to watch what really must be done. It’s just too real. I won’t give up so quickly. Thanks for the reply.
Kenth Gustafsson because I didn’t like it. Doesn’t need to be any other reason. Not to mention I can run a stock hood and the proportions are correct. Nothing worse than a hotrod with bad proportions.
if you wanted a museum piece cars should not be your thing any piece of automotive history wears and needs attention, what makes what you do not part of this wonderful cars history? in 20, 30 or 40 years time this car will be someone else's vision and they will change it too , and they will be grateful for your efforts because without your efforts those photographs would be all they had!
Nice job on the frame horns. Definitely the right thing to do.
Enjoy the little victories, way to go! Thanks for sharing.

No worries about modifying. Especially since you are improving the overall look of it. Jmho.
Doing a great job on this, definitely doing the car justice. Sometime make a video on your bike in the background
Scott Brown 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼. Love my old Mercury.
"How do you do that?" With imagination, intelligence, skill and a mess load of tools. ;-)
Tell em, "When you fund the car, I'll build it the way you like it!"
John Kubicki haha. Yep 👍🏼

Maybe you have perfect aim, just a little off with your release? Great work!!! Thank you for saving an awesome car!
Need to work on my follow through 👍🏼
I understand the nostalgic aspect but in the end it's your car, make it your car.
MT Pocket Builds I’m with ya.

Try using Tigwelding instead of Mig and sandblast the parts and sanding for stronger welds .😃
Tks ur girlfriend for us for letting u work on the hot rod. Really like following along!!
johnny mayo thank you so much !! My GF is the best.

Glenn Nickerson you got that right !
Put the horns back on and fill the other one to fare looks
Topics look great and I’d love to watch but the head cam makes me dizzy. Sorry. Looks like great stuff!
The Eccentric Hobbyist ya. I wanted to try it out, don’t think I’ll be doing much of that moving forwards.
Thank you for the input.

@@ThisOldHotrod nailed it.

Every damn time. Haha
