Joe Starr, go see David Lynch's 'Dune', it's good enough and fun.
I've seen a lot of the great classic movies, especially older ones. But I've never sat through 'Inception'...

Hey SJU, I really love that Joe says at the start of the show what questions they're going to try to get to beforehand. That way I know upfront if my question will be one of them or not. It's awesome formatting! Should do it for every F-Friday.

*Adjusts glasses* Um actually, Spencer, "September Spiders" as we call it in the inland Northwest is not caused by outside spiders coming in. Spiders are either outside spiders or inside spiders: they don't "come in" for the winter. Instead, the increase in visible spiders is due to the fact fall is the mating season for house spiders. So the reason you see more spiders in fall is because spiders that were already in your house year round are trolling for sweet spider love. */end nerd voice*

Dan Murrell - You haven't seen Rocky Horror? I remember when I hadn't seen it, and all my friends kept hounding me. Then I lost a bet, and I went to see it, in 1976, at midnight, in handcuffs (my friends didn't trust that I wouldn't run, and since several of us worked at a police station...) and wow!!! The point I want to make is, it's not the movie, it's the movie AND the audience. And over the years I've seen it at several locations, and countries and (I think) it's wonderful. But time moves on, and it's been a couple of decades since I saw it in a theater. Then one day my daughter was talking about Rocky Horror, and we bonded over shared memories It's not a movie, it's an experience I recommend. (As always, thank you to you and your associates for your efforts.)

Would love a Wu Tang biopic. Go into how Rza worked out being able to get everyone separate deals for solo albums, as opposed to them still being under the same deal they were as a group, which had never been done before. Obviously go into ODB. But the most important detail, I want to see the story that Bjork told of working with them where they all slept on top of each other in the studio. That would be gold.

    • @itsthatericguy7553
      @itsthatericguy7553 6 ปีที่แล้ว

They mentioned how they wouldn't want to see a Michael Jackson biopic. I actually would want to see it, if it's done well. Even if it only covers certain sections of his life, if it's well directed, well written and well acted, I'll definitely go see it. Barring that, I'd pay good money to go see a well made David Bowie biopic.

  • @Cobralalalala

I agree about what makes a good bad movie. For some additions to the list though:
Plan 9 From Outer Space- It's the obvious one, but it is so fantastic. I love anything from Ed Wood, really, but that one is the perfect storm of his passion, ineptitude, and ability to convince people of his vision.
Santa Claus (59)- A Santa movie made by and for people who didn't have a Santa Claus mythology. Instead doing research they made up their own and it is amazing. The American dub also got me a little obsessed with K. Gordon Murray, whose whole MO was finding weird Mexican movies and making them even weirder American ones. I love it. Honorable mentions: Santa Claus Conquers the Martians and The Christmas that Almost Wasn't (Scrooge like character tries to evict Santa)
DC Cab- I hesitate to include this one as it is a legitimately well done movie, but I always love mentioning my love for it. It's also insane and is almost three disparate movies combined into one amazing mess.
    As for other topics:
My first crush would have either been Elizabeth Shue fro Karate Kid or Jennifer Connelly from Labyrinth
Movies it's odd I haven't seen: Godfather part II (finally saw the first 2-3 years ago, and on the big screen no less) and The Good the Bad and the Ugly. I've been catching up on Oscar winners this year, so that helped a lot of my big misses. I'm sure there are still more I'm forgetting though.
I'm slightly disappointed Mangold isn't doing Star Wars anymore. I hope they find somewhere to work with him later.
I'm really mad Filmstuck is leaving us. That service was amazing!!!!
Thanks for the show guys! Great job, as always. Have a good weekend. :D

MotU had budget issues. I want to say that the He-Man doc on Netflix touches on it, but the audio commentary on the DVD covers it as well. 30-something me is a lot more understanding than 4-year-old me was, and I probably watch the movie once a year.
Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, and Super Mario Bros are my other go-to “bad” films. The nostalgia helps.

For me best bad movie that was awesome is Kung Fury, it would also qualify for micro-budget, I don't know if it would count though. And my first movie crush, princess Leia Organa, Carrie Fisher in Star Wars is perfection, I was 7 back then. Molly Ringwald would be a close second.

On one hand, I like their frank conversation not shaming each other for the movies they haven't seen. However, I want to shame Dan for not having seen Firefly and Serenity.

Spencer is correct it is the start of 🕷 spider season. My dad works for Terminx and he is getting more 🕷 jobs. Because spiders can’t handle the cold and are seeking warm places.
