Furthermore, why would an omnipotent, all powerful being care even in the slightest of the worship from a creature as lowly as us? Sounds far more like the hubris of man to me.

God is not hatred God is love. People choose to believe things that are not true. He wants worship from us so we can show gratitude for everything he has done for us. He gave us life and died on the cross for all of our sins. We are free from our sins and in exchange we received the greatest gift of all: his love, his mercy, and salvation.
