Joan Rivers in a movie -- wow!! I just cannot get over her fabulous stand up, the older she got the better she got. Would that we all could, in our chosen professions, follow her lead!
This was a phenomenal movie, I highly recommend! I can't believe I've never seen it, Joan Rivers is an absolute American treasure. Great movie all the way through!

It was one of the very first VHS movies I got to see when dad bought the VCR sometime in the early 90s. I watched that movie so many times as a kid. At the time I had no idea who Joan Rivers was nor the rest of the cast, albeit later I would recognize some of them in other projects. We don't dub movies in my country, instead we have a single voice over the slightly muted original voices so Joan's signature raspy voice very much heard so was the voice of the actor who played Walter. My sisters and I would often reenact some of the scenes from that movie, especially the beginning fake buying jewelry with credit cards or walking with your palms open so the nail-polish won't get spoiled. Sweet memories to revisit 30+ years later. Thank you.

She tried to heal the deep split but Carson would have nothing to do with it. He was a known grudge carrier n vengeance taker. Don't know if that grudge ever got healed. Remember why Joan was killed in a fake throat surgery. Look it up. She famously said ..."m I c h e l is a known trans vestite. Everybody knows that " and as quick as that she was dead.

Well, this was my first Joan Rivers movie. Enjoyed it a lot, she's a real fine actress. Also the movie has a great 80s feel to it.. love these timewarps.

The movie would have cheered-us-up, particularly now that our clothes from that era are back on the runways (and now that Keto and fasting have us skinny-enough to wear them again). But the nonstop parade of sleazy, depressing TH-cam ads, had us wanting to hold hands and jump out a window. Why are they sending us such horrible ads? Does a title including the word "Millionaire", trigger ads targeting the poor-&-senile?
Oh what a great movie! I was only two whenit was out,i wish i was in my 20s or 30s at that time, the style from the 80s and early 90s (not to mention the 50,60,70s too) was so ladylike and glam, unlike now
