I use the valentine one, i think it works pretty well for me. I don’t speed much anyway but when i do it definitely works. Especially since the one i have is an older version. I just wish it was more friendly when it came to accessories like there’s no headphone jack on it. You have to buy an adapter to get it to work

So I did this exact thing on my M2 and it seems like it won’t shut off when I shut off the car. Any way around this?
Car takes 20min to go to sleep. Need to lock it and have the key out of range for over 20min. Trust me, it’s fine

I am having this same issue on my 2018 m2. Is it ok to keep it on for 20 mins? Hope it dosent drain battery much.

Yes.
That mount is pretty heavy, I'm hoping it doesn't pull the mirror on on me.
Can you power a Dash Cam the same way?
Probably but you should wire a dash cam to the fuse box so parking mode can work with the car turned off.
still can't figure out why people are so incensed with using a mounting bracket on their mirror...just use the two suction cup mount that came with the radar detector and mount the silly thing to your windshield ABOVE your mirror...thus, nothing to block your view...sheesh.
Same reason you like the suction cups: everyone likes what they like. It’s that simple. 👍

Isn't this kinda illegal? I'm outside of the US(Serbia actually) there are no laws that forbid it tho so I don't know how it goes..
In some countrys it is illegal :P mine for example (sweden) :'(
In the US it's legal. There are like 3 states only which forbid it but for the rest of the US it's perfectly legal.
