- We were sent a Custom Dynamics ProBEAM® LED Headlamp for Harley & Indian motorcycles to install and review here at Law Abiding Biker™ Media, Inc. Let's face it, the stock halogen headlamps on Harley & Indian motorcycles out of the factory are just plain dangerous. They offer old dim halogen technology and it's overly apparent if you've done any nighttime riding with these.
The Custom Dynamics ProBEAM® LED Headlamp can be seen much better during the day by motorists and simply cuts through the darkness at night. All motorcycle riders should be taking advantage of LED headlight technology for safety. Being able to see a road hazard at night sooner could just save your life. I definitely like that the low beam portion of the ProBEAM headlamp stays on when I switch it to high beam, giving me even more light.

After spending some time with the Custom Dynamics ProBEAM® LED Headlamp for Harley & Indian, I definitely recommend it as a great aftermarket LED headlamp option. I love the ease of plug and play install, quality build, and overall look of this headlamp. It makes riding during the day and night much safer. The ProBeam LED headlamp produces a wide optical pattern and a nice beam pattern with illumination down the road as well as on either side.
You can get the Custom Dynamics ProBEAM® LED Headlamp for Harley & Indian in a chrome or true black finish. There is a 5.75" and 7" version. You'll need an adapter for some 2014 and newer Harley models and it can be purchased with the headlamp. They also make this headlamp for metric motorcycles.

I've watched Ryan's videos and comparisons of the HD DayMaker, Kuryakyn Phase 7 and Ciro 3D Vision X which he had recommended. I was left unimpressed by any of the LED headlights as they ALL had what I refer to as "Dead Spots". I stumbled across the Custom Dynamics ProBeam (Made In USA) on another TH-cam Channel and it provided noticeably brighter and "cleaner" light than the others. I purchased it through "atvunlimited" on eBay for $429, (saved $20 over retail) and once installed was absolutely blown away by this headlight. NO "dead spots" and a hi-beam pattern that could land jets on the road ahead. I purchased the Custom Dynamics ProBeam 4.5" running lights to complete the set. At 57, I don't see as well as I used to and don't ride much at night because of the deer in Western PA. After installing the ProBeam, I'm no longer riding nervous when the sun goes down. This light is worth the price because it could save your life.
I changed all of my lights on Harley Road King to Custom Dynamics LED including this headlight 2 years ago. Very happy with my decision.

Great video Ryan, how does this headlight compare to the vision x headlight?
Glad there is a 7" version I have a project bike that is a 1982 Suzuki GS 850 GL this will make a big difference and with less power draw it should help with all of my lighting and coil performance.
Thanks again for a great review Ryan. Going to look into this headlamp, have the C. D. on my turn signals and brake light with the strobe effect, talk about waking up the dreamers behind you as you stop. BAMMMM....hello we're stoping. (>:

I also added the Custom Dynamics ProBeam LED passing lamps AND front turn signals, The front turn signals are SWEET. They display brilliant white light until you activate the turn signal and it then flashes amber.

I have a 2018 Harley Fat Bob with the new square headlamp. I want to replace it with the 5 3/4 Probeam round headlamp - do you have any idea how the Probeam would compare with the stock Fat Bob headlamp? I believe the stock Fat Bob is still an LED, but curious how the Probeam would compare?
What are the lumens on high & low beam?
I have one of these and installed it myself. Do you have any suggestions on how to AIM the headlight? My high beam is spotting airplanes at night.
What is brighter? Visionx or the probeam?

Questions about the Ciro and Custom Dynamics...
1) Talking to the Harley parts guy, his complaint about the ProBeam is that the lens is plastic. Of course that may have saved Kevin's Daymaker..
2) Thoughts about the Ciro vs Pro-Beam vs Daymaker.
They are all good lights. I wouldn't replace a Daymaker with another LED light. I like both the Pro-Beam and Vision X.

What size Headlamp from Custom Dynamics 5.75 or 7inches

I adjusted my day maker last night and forgot to check it and this morning at 5am on the way to work it was way to up lol left my tool at home and high beam was up in the air lol

I am going to put is on my brothers 2013 TriGlide. I noticed you did not use any dialectic grease ( SP?) I assume its not needed or is it a good idea to use on any electric connection when upgrading to LED bulbs?
You sure can add dialectic grease. There was still plenty in the sockets of my bike.

Hey Ryan I see you reviewed the Ciro 3D Vision X LED headlamp also. Which is brighter or better the CD Probeam or Ciro Vision X.
I just bought a 2020 Streetglide and my first mod is switching from stock to LED lighting and I want to install the best non adaptive LED headlamp. I appreciate your unbiased and honest opinion.

Whats wrong with the stock LED daymaker on the new HD's? Is this better?
Daymaker is a pretty good light. I run it on my Police Motorcycle daily (stock). Understand, many HD models don't come stock with a Daymaker. If purchasing an LED headlight for bikes that don't come with a Daymaker, I would not recommend it as it's overpriced like all HD stuff and there's better out there.
Same buy overpriced.
Love the videos Ryan, I went with the Ciro visionX after watching a previous video. And just a note, the word is 'oriented' not orientated.

I purchased a Vision X recently after an Insecticon bug took out the daymaker on my '17 Ultra. My friend and I took a bit of a night ride recently, he has a '17 street glide, he was shocked at the difference between his halogen and my Vision X. He upgraded the next day after watching the reviews here and other places. I just purchased the Hi\Lo bridge connection, should be here tomorrow, I'll be adding that asap before the winter break. That is, if it ever stops raining in MN... Thanks for the informative and concise reviews! What's the price on that Custom Dynamics?

The ProBEAM® 7" LED Headlamp is $449.95; the H4-TOUR-ADPT (sold separately for $19.95) is required on the 2017 Ultra for plug and play installation (unless you already have an H4 plug/adapter installed from a different after-market LED headlamp)!
Good review Ryan, how did it compare to the Cero?
They're both great LED headlights and any differences in brightness would be negligible. It will come down to personal preference.

I like both. Very similar headlights. It will come down to personal preference and taste. You would not be disappointed with either.

Hey brother, I dont see one for a 2019 street glide special. Am I missing it? Also what do you recommend for spot lights/passing lamps for street glide. I just got mine. And I'm so dang confused looking threw this HIGH DOLLAR harley catalog

its a good headlight. i have it on my 2013 bob. the light cut off is sharp as a knife. lights up well high beams well. if youre looking for that led blueish white light this isnt it. this has a white lightout

Another $300 item (For just 7" Lamp)... what of those of us on a budget? What about TRUCKMALL? Or Supie LED's? Much more budget friendly at $105 to $110 for all (3) lamps. I subscribe to your channel. But hey, some of us are retired and on a limited budget.
