It is heartening to see that you do a lot of home work on learning and sharing various practices and customs followed in Hindu temples of Kerala. Hats off to you for your interest.
Thankyou 🙏🏻 for your appreciation 😊
Mattanchery is part of Kochi where people from different cultures coexist in harmony. This temple belongs to tha Gowda Saraswat Brahmin(GSB) community who migrated from Goa during the 16th century due to persecution by Portugese. Their mother tongue is Konkani, they have mingled very well with the local community. The Konkani people are basically into business and are peace loving. My childhood was spent in the precints of this temple.
Konkani people are awesome, I also have many friends who are from there .
@porothashawarma2339 thats great. In olden days these Konkani people used to converse with us in a corrupted malayalam dialect, we used to call it Konkani malayalam. Over the years, the new generation speaks very good malayalam.
Islam and Christianity will finish Kerala hinduism

Kochi thirumala dewasom ulsavam... Nice video ❤
Very nice video sis nice sharing 👍🙏👍
Dear sister, it's not actually removing the right sleeve of the shirt and retaining the left sleeve. You're required to remove the shirt fully. However, over time, people found a shortcut as part of convenience, that's how it is! Thank you, bahin, for your pleasant upload!❤️🙏☺️
🙏 thank you for your valuable words
Dear Sister, your passion for Kerala's culture is inspiring! Your dedication will surely lead you to master Malayalam soon!" I am a native of Mattancherry and was residing near this temple for 3 decades. Used to visit the temple almost daily for years. The big bronze bell, made by Dutch Kingdom, said to be biggest in size in India.
Thank you 👍
Kochi and kerala is known for religiously harmony. Hindu muslim christian communities live together without any issues. ❤

Gowda Saraswath Brahmins Konkani
Hi, I have watched several videos of your channel.. you are covering pretty well and explaining in detail..appreciate...one thing i didnt see in DETAIL in your videos are 1. The performance of the people standing on the elephant... 2... Like to listen the drums Panchari melam and panchavadyam for few minutes...hope to see soon..
I will try to include them in my next videos.
Very nice❤❤❤❤tempal l m
A correction its not Goda community..its Gowd Saraswat Brahmin community..migrated to kerala from Konkan region
Kerala 🌴🤍
🙏🙏🙏❤️
It's not GODA society. Correct it as Gowda Saraswath Brahamin Konkani (GSB KONKANI). As I am from this community/society I myself need to get you corrected. THANK YOU a lot 👍
Oh come on, man. That's how they pronounce it.
North Indians pronounce the diphthong "au" as "o" while it remains a diphthong in Southern languages.
Example: Saurabh would be pronounced "Sorabh" in NI.
@@j000p you won't understand it. Since for me, my forefather thought to precise pronunciation what should be GOWDA SARASWATH BRAHAMIN. please shut up...
Amazing video ❤ Super Narration . Don’t worry about uncles commenting on mistakes. If we do 1000 right things and 1 mistake, these people avoid good and focus on bad. It is nature of mallus. 😂
👌😍😍
U had visited our temple on the 7th day if i am not wrong.. i had seen you there actually i was watching ur baby ... she was really enjoying the drums (chendamellam)
Yes 🙌
Mam, it's not about removing the right side of the shirt only. Actually, men shouldn't wear any top. For convenience they hang their shirt on tge left shoulder. Wishes to you and your family.
To identify whether who eneter the temple sanctum are wearing Janivara Or not(class based partition done by the old varna system)... It's My opinion.
@mithunrg9391 that's not the reason. From very old times it's just a tradition. Stitched clothes are not prescribed. That's why dhoti alone is allowed.
@@mithunrg9391 No, it is said that God blesses on the face of women, therefore they need not cover their face. God blesses on the chest of men, that is why they have to expose chest. Women's beauty increases after darshan, men's valour increases after darshan.
@@kumar7359what is the logic behind allowing churidar and blouse for women then ?
@@kumar7359and what is the logic behind banning stitched clothes ?
Whenever you get time do few episodes on the living gods found in north kerala . And do visit kodangallur kali kshetra , the offering there is one of a kind 😂
🙏
Very good piece and done well. I just have one thing that I was not happy about. I wish you had taken some pains to pronounce the words properly. It is nor very difficult if you try.
I will try to improve my pronunciation in the next videos
Most Malayalies know the word AARAATTU of Hindu temples. If one asks them about what that word means, they will explain differently on the rituals in many temples with diverse rituals.
BUT
word AARAATTU is derived from SANSKRIT WORD
" Avabhrista snan" meaning BATH OR ABLUTION after completion of religious rituals.
During festivals thousands of devottees pass on BAD VIBES to the idol which receives prayers. And sanctity of temple and 7dols get affected by crowds etc. Hence after the festivities etc the UTSAV MURTHI is
Immersed in temple pond which is a common feature of every TEMPLE as per Vasthu/ and temple architecture./ again sahthra.

Temple ke andhar jathe wakth Gents uparwala dress kholna padtha he.. Ladies ko dress pahn ke ja saktha he.. Gents ko bhagvan ka shakthi chest mei milta he.. Aur ladies ko forehead mei milta he.. Isliye gents upar ka dress kholna padtha he..
Deedi, wallpapers kisne banaaya? Spelling check karna post karne se pehle. Bahut jyada wallpapers mein galt spelling nazar aa rha hai
Dear please be updated, in almost all temple ,during the utsavam days there is a pradha called "PARA"(A measuring vessel), The deity will goto all houses on a caprisoned elephant then the devoty will offer para full of rice or paddy- not only this temple. And those who unable to do para at their hoses perform it at temple.
Regarding removing of shirt for men ,you have to remove it completely Then we put it on one hand, but now a days we for easy removes half. but it is not the perfect thing ,rule is remove the upper body dress and any cap,This for remain low key and uniform like removing your cap before a respected person.
The deity on caprisoned elephant is called "Thidamb" not prathima(which ever murthy is in temple is fixed on that thidamb)
lovfly❤
Super, you learnt about kerala cuture before you taking the video, so you can perform well
Yes, I did my research before making the video.
It’s not Devasom - it’s devaswam which is Sanskrit word which means - that belongs to God.
Thankyou for explaining 🙂
Music drum needed
It will come in the separate video
The word Devaswom is a Sanskrit word, meaning belonging to the Devan or devtha in Hindi. It is not a community.
Your look is really like a Malayali especially Dress
Namaste sister 🙏

The Kerala High Court has banned bringing elephants to the temple. The High Court observed that the elephants were tortured for long hours.
Don't think they are banned...only rules and guidelines...
@VN-ux2ep Ok.. but the court says that what is done to the elephants is cruelty, and the other is that the elephant parade is not a religious ceremony. This could lead to a ban.
Court said not ESSENTIAL, didn't say BANNED.
@@shajikumaran1766 We all know what the court said...what the heck did you say? Idiot...
@@shajikumaran1766 But slaughtering of millions of goats, buffalos and cows on festivals of some special community is not cruelty. The hypocrisy of courts. Why they only interfere in only Hindus rituals and customs. 1000s of PILs are registered against slaughtering of animals in various courts through out the country.
Dheethii Acha videos
Thankyou
NAME OF CITY "KOCHI" ( anglicized as COCHIN) is a derivation from
" GOSHRI PURAM" and
Decade back KOCHI was a separate town like ERNAKULAM on other side of BACK WATERS.( Ernakulam is derived from " PANCHA KAMALAM).
Ernakulam is a Temple. The deity inside the temple is Ernakulathappan (Lord Shiva).
I dont know what is "Erna".
But "Kulam" is pond.
Devassom ek samuday nhi hey..Devassom is an organisation or department under Kerala Government all workers under Devassom including Poojari is goverment employees
Every devasom is not under government. Devaswam is a Sanskrit word which means what ever that belongs to God
Hi, LM Jodi, thanks for new temple new video.very good explanation ando very good videos❤️.There is a suggestion that the sound of the melody should have been heard by us as well.🤝
We will upload a separate video of the chenda.
Its "Gods own Country" Please check the spell
Spelling is not correct because these are hashtag
I think that there is no dress code in Kerala temple. Some temple like Padmanabh templehas introduced dhoti for men, churidar for girl. I don't know about traditional rules of padmanabha temple. I did not visit this padnabha swamy temple.
GSB??
Gowda Saraswatha Brahmin
Konkani
@legeshkumarmk7515 thanks
Namaskaram,
Your narration is wrong madam.Actually Goda Saraswath Brahmins were originated from the Devine Saraswathi river bank which in Jihadi Pakistan now.During the Islamic invasion time they started the migration to present day Bharath.Jai Bharath.
Thankyou for giving me the correct information 🙏
Allow the people especially north indian to listen the rhythms of drum. It is boring while speaking
Yes.. You are correct..
Reall Temple run😂😂😂
The Kerala High Court had recently dismissed an application filed by the Cochin Devaswom board that sought modification of norms requiring a three-meter distance between two elephants. The court had observed that parading elephants for temple festivals is not an essential religious practice.
Rubbish commie jihadi alert
North Indian always northindian,Kerala mai bass temple nahi church and musjid b haii 😂
They are Hindus. So they prefer Temples 😂😂😂
@ brohhh,idhar kya hindu kya muslim....behan hai Hamara,Kerala hai yaar 🤫
There are over 200 videos and articles on SARASWATS..GAUDA/ GOWDA SARASWATHS.. KONKANI COMMUNITY etc in internet. The migration of HINDUS FROM KASHMIR TO GOA AND THEN TO DIFFERENT PARTS OF INDIA RIGHT FROM 1400 AD due to religious persecution by many FOREIGN invaders resulting in killing of at least 18000 HINDUS IN GOA is part of recorded hIstory which unfortunately our GOVERNMENT OF 1947..50 and later did not bother to teach Indian citizens.Story of liberation of Goa Of INDIANS is fit for a mega movie!
Every indian should know what happened in GOA .( INQUISITION OF GOA is the title for search)
