I played in this server before - the people are freaking weird man. You say one wrong word to staff and you get perma banned instantly with no hesitation. They are always acting like they know better than you and are above. They can't participate in a normal conversation. They are just so weird.
Fun way to crash that server: About a year ago i got banned on that server because they let you spawn in the explosive fuel tanker trailer. While you can only spawn one vehicle at a time, if you face a building and spawn one in, it immediately blows up. This allows you to create a massive explosion every time you hit the enter key by constantly spawning in new fuel tankers.

I know that Bub is seen as an entertainment figure (and he is) but what he is doing here is highlighting and exposing an incredibly peculiar economic phenomenon, which is essentially paying to work and then being contractually obliged by certain rules to keep the "job" as if it was a real job. I can't think of any other industry in which people pay to work. Unpaid internships are the closest thing I can think of, where a rich kid will have mummy and daddy pay their living expenses while they "work" for free for a big media company in order to get the experience, and this is reserved for upper class types. Can you imagine paying to work in a warehouse? Paying to work at McDonalds? Everybody pays to work to an extent due to the profit extracted from their labour via their employers, but this is something novel. This will be studied by economists in the years to come.

I used to actively play on this server; it was extremely cancerous. They charge so much because once you get involved with the community, in the past you were not allowed to play on other servers. I never purchased anything because I am not a degenerate, but I know 50+ people who have spent over $1000 on this server. So many people buy admin becuase the actual staffing is so horrible, you wont get caught for doing anything.. but handing out perm bans to randoms will get you in trouble.

While you can only spawn one vehicle at a time, if you face a building and spawn one in, it immediately blows up. This allows you to create a massive explosion every time you hit the enter key by constantly spawning in new fuel tankers.

The amount of people that willingly paid $200 just to get some "power status" on a fkn RP server and discord is sad.
I know that Bub is seen as an entertainment figure (and he is) but what he is doing here is highlighting and exposing an incredibly peculiar economic phenomenon, which is essentially paying to work and then being contractually obliged by certain rules to keep the "job" as if it was a real job. I can't think of any other industry in which people pay to work. Unpaid internships are the closest thing I can think of, where a rich kid will have mummy and daddy pay their living expenses while they "work" for free for a big media company in order to get the experience, and this is reserved for upper class types. Can you imagine paying to work in a warehouse? Paying to work at McDonalds? Everybody pays to work to an extent due to the profit extracted from their labour via their employers, but this is something novel. This will be studied by economists in the years to come.

contractual obligations don't exist if any party derives no benefit from them. You can't be forced into slavery through contract. It's not binding.

@@citricdemon that's a fair point but if they are not binding, there isn't any real issue. no one is getting taken to court because some gamer didn't put in his hours on a server. the whole thing is a scam, that's the point. better just understand the overarching point and don't sign any kind of contract unless it is a legally binding one.

I used to actively play on this server; it was extremely cancerous. They charge so much because once you get involved with the community, in the past you were not allowed to play on other servers. I never purchased anything because I am not a degenerate, but I know 50+ people who have spent over $1000 on this server. So many people buy admin becuase the actual staffing is so horrible, you wont get caught for doing anything.. but handing out perm bans to randoms will get you in trouble.
