This musical video is very touching for us. Dolphin is artist, who's childhood was in 80's. And Olimpyc Games in Moscow in 1980 year is for some of us the symbol of the begining of the end of Soviet Era. In the days of Games Vysotskiy died. So Dolphin did great thing putting video of Olympics to the song about Farewell. We listen it, remembering our childhood, which was destroyed in 90's (I'm not the apologet of soviet communistic totalitarism, but childhood is childhood). The Toy Bear that flew into the sky on balloons at the closing of the Games (these shots also are in video) is also a symbol of all the good things that were in the late years of the Soviet Union and then disappeared. The ideology was no longer so oppressive in 1980s, there were almost no repressions, comparing with the first five decades of Soviet Union, but there was a lot of human kindness, which ended in the nineties. Dolphin is one of the artists, who made video and the song important together.

He started as a part of hip-hop band "Мальчишник"(Bachelor party) that was singing (or rapping, not sure what I should use here) mostly about sex. His first solo album "Не в фокусе"(out of focus) was even titled as "Мальчишник" album, but was one half angry, one half depressed and was talking about streets, drugs and some everyday routine. Most notable songs are "Я люблю людей"(I love people), "Дилер"(Dealer), "Один на один"(One on one) и "Война"(War), but the whole album is very important. Second album "Глубина резкости" (Depth of field) was extremely depressive, almost suicidal. And it talked to many people (me included). This is probably the most popular and most important album he ever released. Most notable songs are "Я буду жить"(I will live), "Вера"(Faith), "Надежда"(Hope), "Любовь"(Love), " Дверь"(Door) and "Тишина"(Silence). And "Надежда" is probably the most important of them all - to this day I hear stories from people who was in severe depression and only this song puled them out of it. Can't say much about third album. Other than it was the first album that was all meditative and just conveying some emotions. Fourth album "Ткани"(Tissues) is my favorite to just listen. Pure emotion and melancholy. Sometimes very dark. Hard to just name some notable songs, but I think that "Тебя" (You) is the best one. Fifth album "Звезда"(Star) is my second favorite to just listen. But this one is a lot lighter in it's tone. For me the best song here is "MDMA". I missed his next four albums and only came back in 2018 when his album "422" was released. oh boy, this album is heavy. There was (and still is) a lot of unrest, hate and turmoil both inside and outside the county and this album seems to be feeding on all the dark emotions. It sounds like reaction to reaction, like protest on protest if I'm allowed to say such nonsense. It doesn't even has a name and songs inside have numbers instead of names. 612, 387 and 713. Haven't yet heard his new album, so will end here xD

One of the biggest anti-war songs in Russian. Released in 2004, in the midst of the Second Chechen War. When you read the text of the song closely, you realize it’s about a soldier who’s going away to that war, and who’s saying goodbye to his girlfriend or wife. All of this is played on the background of 1980 Olympic Games opening and closing ceremonies footage, but with a definite catch which you noticed yourself when the footage focuses on that tired boy. Whose face slowly fades into the cartoon face of the Olympic bear, the symbol of the 1980 Olympic Games - which then fades into fire with a faint smile - the goblet of fire of the Olympic Games. So for a Russian who lived there at the time, it really felt like a loud statement against this war - this boy is regarded as an allusion to the storyteller of the song whose life is being thrown to the hell of useless war launched by his government, while everyone around is applauding, because it all looks great on the surface. That’s the feel of this song. Also the text is only 4 lines in a loop for a good reason. It’s the feeling that matters. It’s the footage that matters. It’s the visual metaphor with the boy that matters. Altogether, it’s a loud anti-war statement.

Да не поймёт, что в творчестве Дельфина больше всего трогает, это конечно же тексты. А автор канала, оценивает конечно же саунд.
