    A great, no-nonsense review. I own this exact car and it is a joy to drive. As I have matured, I realize chasing the lowest 0-60 time is a fool's game as four-seat electric family car can toast supercars and keep pace with hypercars nowadays. I care more about the feel, look and driving experience. The 2.0 Supra delivers on these 100%. It serves as my daily driver and provides a daily smile. This is no longer the 80's/90's and the car is better in many ways due to the collaboration with BMW, as you correctly noted. You have a new subscriber!

      Completely agree! I found a amazing deal on a 2.0L selling under MSRP at my local dealership. Driving this car makes you feel like your in something special. Something that cannot be measured in terms of numbers. Glad to hear like minded people out there.

    Absolutely love my Supra 2.0. Tuned and running E30, we are now at stock 3.0 level performance, but around 240 or more pounds lighter (after swapping the stock wheels for some Gram Lights). Insanely balanced and agile in the corners, one of the main reasons I chose this over the 3 liter. Much easier to add power then shed hundreds of pounds of weight on a factory boosted car.

    Great review. Google says this thing weighs 3100 lbs, I can’t believe it’s as heavy as the CTR with half as much space! Nonetheless, bet it’s a blast to drive

    • @AB-nv7bz
      @AB-nv7bz 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You mean a Ruf CTR. Those don't come close to meeting modern safety standards. It's nearly impossible to make a car under 3000lbs unless you use a carbon fiber monocoque, which isn't going to happen anywhere near this price point.

    Awesome review, this is really appreciated! Now I just have to make up my mind in either getting the 2.0 or 3.0. This video is making me lean towards the 2.0. What would be nice if someone did a hp tune on the 2.0 to see how much the car engine could handle. I guess we can only wait and watch.

    The 3.0L is obviously a better car and it sounds amazing. But if you can find the right deal on the 2.0L I think it makes sense to buy. At 43k your getting a amazing looking and fun car to drive everyday. Plus most 3.0L supra I find at dealerships right now are loaded and or marked up.

    Another great video! I have a Veloster N with the dual clutch and it’s a great running little car but there are just certain things about it that look cheap. The interior especially. I’m going to check out a Supra 2.0 this weekend that I may trade the Veloster for. Would you say that they perform similar in the engine performance/trans department?

    Crazy seems like they stole the digital engine noise right out of the F56 Mini Cooper. Sounds identical to how my Mini Cooper sounded. I know they used the same B48 engine but i figured they wouldn't have used the same sound. Looks like a fun car though. Pretty easy to tune B48 engine to over 300 with minimal mods and a tune.

    Soooo…. Would you rather own this over a M3P? If not, why do I want to keep buying horses? Yes it’ll get me from A-Z, but I’ve been spoiled by Mr Ford and no longer want to go back to the blacksmith or have to buy oats and hey. Would be a great candidate for Toyota to make their first electric sports car with.

    • @Gjeebs
      @Gjeebs  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    • @AB-nv7bz
      @AB-nv7bz 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      M3P. Isn’t that $20k more than a 2.0?
      Also who would make their first electric car a sports car. These things don’t actually make money. It’s to get people to buy more cars. The rear end curves are copied on a bunch of other Toyota vehicles. It’s a sales pitch.

      Older comment but just in case. What was the reason you went with the 3.0?

    • @or2wheels
      @or2wheels 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@LazyData The 2.0 was a great car but the torque with the B58 engine is something else man. It has as much torque as a stock lambo Huracan (dyno) and it's amazing value for what you get. I had a turbo charged FRS before and the supra felt just like it, it was a lot of fun but I wanted something with more power. Also, the B58 is very well known for being overbuilt. People are getting 600-800 horsepower from the engine with minimal mods (and it's been reliable). Mine currently has a downpipe, tune, and E85. I can do 10.9-11.2 quarter miles with my R888's. Love it!

    I know these aren’t comparable cars aside from price but I’d take a golf r over the 2.0 Supra.
    You’re just giving up too much practicality for the Supra it doesn’t seem worth it for the 2.0. Ya it looks cool but it’s not fast and doesn’t sound good. I’d happily drive one through a canyon but I’m not dropping $48k on it.

      @@mperformanceedition7441 I had a 16' gti. German cars are just amazing from a build quality standpoint. Yes maintenance costs more, but everything is designed to cruise at 200kph on the autobahn.
      Got a 16' S6 after, drove back from napa following a crazy civic driver at 110mph (pandemic so no traffic). Felt like 60mph in a normal car. Daughter sleeping in the back and my dad was riding shotgun. Its just a different standard.
