❤I just discovered DDs channel. I'm from a small town, Summerville, Georgia in the US. I wish TH-cam had a love button. Nicole gave me the confidence to make a project bag. It's not perfect, but it's mine. Of course, I've watched her say move your zip...I cut it off..luckily, I was able to put it back on 😊 Love Love Love
You're welcome! I am glad you enjoyed the video, thank you for taking the time to watch and leave a comment, your time is appreciated and I look forward to seeing you on the channel again :) have a lovely day and till next time happy crafting :)
I just made my first bag and I love it. It turned out nicer than I thought it would….my first zipper. I loved the double sided tape. You tutorial was great and I appreciate that you kept it brief and on topic! Great job and thank you!
I've made 2 bags now, and I did the binding the way you show to do it, I'm still amazed after doing 8 corners, how perfect the mitered corners come out. Thank You for Sharing your Time and Talent with all of us. These instructions should come with a warning: be ware, these bags are addictive to make. I will be making a lot more of these.
I am glad you enjoyed the tutorial, and l appreciate your kind words ❤ Thank you for taking the time to watch and leave a comment l appreciate your time ❤ l hope to see you more often❤️🪡 🧵
I had to jump back on here and say this is the BEST video for these bags!! I also wanted to say I used this technique to make some beautiful reversible placemats!!! Used the iron on fleece on both sides and just love them!! This way to bind them was so much easier than either sewing and turning or using other methods of binding the edges.
I work with vinyl a lot and I have a great trick for smoothing out creases. Place your wrinkled vinyl on your pressing mat (I use one of the thick felt ones) then use a hot hair dryer to blow over it until the crease relaxes. While the vinyl is still warm and pliable, smooth it out with a clapper. Repeat until whole piece of vinyl is crease free. Works like a charm! Thanks for this great tutorial. Loved the self-binding idea! I’m off to make one of these bags now!
I have watched your video many, many times! It is hands down the best project bag video on TH-cam! Thank you for taking the time to explain how to make, step by step! Love the self binding! Love, love, love!

This was a wonderful tutorial!! I found it very helpful with some awesome ideas to simply making these. One question, does the double sided tape gum up your needle or bobbin at all? It looks like it would be very helpful to stabilize things as you sew. Can't wait to give this a try!

2/15/23 12:09 PM I’m wondering why the vinyl. At first I thought it would be like the 3 ring binder vinyl where you can put something between the vinyl and the backing, but see that’s not the case. So what is the benefit of the vinyl? Not trying to be a PIA but truly wondering if I’m missing something obvious. (I’m 75 so I’m often missing obvious things…🤣)
Hi there Kathy, l am happy to explain...These are project bags; the vinyl is there so you can see at a glance what is in the bag without extensive searching for your fancy work.

Is the double sided tape the same as we use for scrapbooking please.
Yes, but only acid free...this is very important for the longevity of the bag 🎒

What gauge vinyl do you recommend for a project bag?
I use a 2mm thickness, where I buy it from doesn't have a gauge as a measurement, its only in millimetres.
