The shark in The Shallows looked really great. The first 47 Meters down did too although since it was really dark it helped mask some of the lower budget cg.

"...You want to appeal to fans of your product and gain new fans..."
THIS. This right here is what kept brands like Transformers alive for just about 40 years.
it's the old heads holding back these franchises and fanbases, not the newcomers lol

agree with you on He-Man..they could've cast bodybuilder Jay Cutler back in the day but you know the cast is not going to be good..not like Lord of the Rings which was perfect...it would be like the new Dune which is not great in my opinion.

I wonder why Danielle Harris and the H4 director haven't considered doing a H4 sequel fan film similar to Dylan's New Nightmare.

Because Malek Akkad would shut it down. A Halloween alum director and a Halloween alum star making their own fan film would never see the light of day. Too much money involved, and it would draw far too much attention. Besides, Dwight H Little is not going put all the time and effort into making a film he can't make money from.

If they went the route of a sequel to H4, I could see Danielle reprising her role for around $250K with no percentage. I couldn’t imagine her being able to command more. With that said, if you can’t make the movie in the $3M-5M range, I wouldn’t see the point in doing it from a profit standpoint. Unless of course Danielle’s not top billing….

they'd have to pay Danielle at least a million since she'd be the star of the movie unless you had another male star in it..the movie can't be made for under 10 million nowadays.
