About 9 1/2 years later the syndicated version got its own Jackpot wedge/round that started at $5,000/day Monday-Thursday and in its early years $10,000 for the top 3 winners of the week returning on Fridays
Wow! A rare gem 💎 in this episode of wheel of fortune someone won with only $1000 in cash and prizes in today's wheel of fortune most people win with at least $10,000 in cash and prizes partly because of the toss ups and prize 🏆🥇 puzzle
God I miss Wheel of Fortune on NBC Daytime, I mean don't get me wrong, I still love Wheel on syndication, but it was something special about NBC Daytime Shopper's Format, the $2000 space which is my favorite and also, this was back when NBC Daytime had Game Shows and Soaps unlike today which is nothing but Days of our Lives and 4 Hours of TODAY
I wish network daytime television would return to the days of game shows and soaps. All daytime television in this day and age is nothing but lame talk shows and court shows and we don't need four friggin hours of the Today Show.
Yep daytime TV used to be great with game shows, soaps, and even reruns of some of my favorite comedies in the summer like who's the boss and family ties. The price is right and win lose or draw were 2 of my favorite game shows to watch.
@@teddyjam8134 The networks daytime TV lineups were good for US but bad for the network affiliates not getting any money from the networks for the their advertising time.
It was the Nighttime series that didn't adapt the 3-day returning champion rule until it moved to CBS Television City in '89. The daytime series always had the returning champion rule in place
WOF Should bring back the shopping format and the eggcrate score display and get rid of the toss-ups and the bonus wheel and bring back the prize of the contestant's choice for WOF
I always loved the shots with the wheel spinning in the corner while they showed the puzzle.
This is how I remember the set looking. With those lighted pillars and the sunbursts behind the guests
That first round happened, and someone still decided that Megaword would be a good idea.
Amazing 39 years later pat and vanna still doing it
The "On The Spot Dicespin" of the 1980s

19:30 Jack: Ta-da!
13:35 Daytime Jackpot Wedge
Has to be one of the smallest wins in WOF history!
They've added THREE bankrupt spaces since this show!
Huh? I only see two
Each of the skinny bankrupts around the million wedge are probably being counted as one.
@@wschmrdr So you wouldn't say four, then.
Wheel of Fortune fails in the 80's!

likely the worst day in Wheel history
No, but close

Correction: $1,000 in prizes. It wasn't until 1989 on the daytime show that you could win guaranteed cash and prizes. 😉

Wow! I can’t believe he can’t pronounce Ho Chi Minh. He said Ho Chai Mine.
Ho Chai Mine is when a prostitute steals your Indian milktea and you demand it back.

Jim should not have been penalized for mispronouncing the puzzle; he had it correct and he solved it!
Rules are rules. You are expected to solve the puzzle exactly as it's shown, pronounced properly. It is still enforced today.
He phonetically said "MINE"; which does not contain an "H".
But he didn’t have it correct. He mispronounced the name, proving he had no idea who the person was.

Undefeated champion? I thought they didn't do winning streaks until the move to CBS Television City in 1989 with a 3-day limit?
They had the three day rule throughout daytime 1975-1991.

@John Williamson Yeah and they aren’t ever getting rid of the toss ups and bonus wheel.
