That’s what I thought too when I saw the film. Like she wakes back up to instantly everyone in a panic that is stressed her enough for the chest buster to come out almost immediately. It probably might also explain the cocoon after like a second incubation.
@@deadshot7062 I think the cocoon is something that does happen in a normal Xeno lifecycle especially with how Fede explained it. The cocoon determines how many biomechanical features a Xeno may have. Hence why in the movies each Xeno looks different than the others & why Scorch has his signature lightning bolt Scar.
Not to take anything away from Alec Gillis, but while Giger designed the Alien Xeno and did some drawings and sculptures of the facehugger and chestburster for the movie, the chestburster design as we know it came from Roger Dicken who was a practical effects artist in the UK. Gigers chestburster looked more like a small turkey and was rejected by Ridley Scott. Roger Dicken sculpted a new chestburster that resembled the longer head of the adult xeno blending into the body and tail with some direction from Ridley and created the final design. He also created a backup animatronic puppet when the main one failed to break through the shirt and act in a convincing way. So the one we see on screen is actually his hand operated puppet. He sadly passed away in Feb. 2024 and he often doesn't get the credit he deserves for the original film, where he did a lot of the work that appeared on screen in many of the iconic moments.
I thought the effects looked great overall. Ironically, the only effect that I didn’t really buy wasn’t even an alien- it was the cgi Ash. But thankfully it wasn’t enough to detract from the story
To Alec Gillis: H R Giger didn´t design the Chestburster. Well, he did, but his "bloody turkey"design was never used. It was Roger Dicken who came up with the Chestburster design that we all know. He also improved and gave the iconic look to the Facehugger.
Romulus is a great addition and sorely needed. However the original face hugger, to this day, is the most realistic thing of that type from any of the other movies. There is something that actual organic bits, including the Nottingham lace on the original egg, that cannot be matched by synthetic goop. Another thing the Alien still has over all of the other movies is silence. The music, for the most part is low key and barely there. The ships sounds were more of the sound track than any music. Romulus, as good as it is, had the music too loud in the sound mix. Still I loved the practical effects. Also the blood in Alien was more realistic in the chest burster scene. The blood, coming out of the chest, would be under high pressure being arterial. It would be spraying out. Anyway Well done!
2:11 Hello my baby, Hello my Honey, hello my ragtime gal! Send me a kiss by wire, baby my heart's on fire! If you refuse me, honey you'll lose me, then you'll be left alone, oh baby..
I was certain that they wont put a single cgi making shot in that breakdown to be like " oh look we use pratical effects, every cgi crybaby that havent even notice the cgi in top gun maverick or ford vs Ferrari and many other film and that think cgi artists are shit and who believe to be inform about cgi but who arent will be happy" Cause with the 0% cgi fashion of these last years i hope they wont lie about the amount of cgi used like in barbie, or napoléon huh?👀
This chestburster is the best chestburster in any Alien film. It looks so good. BUT, the rest of the film's creature designs are fucked. The xenos look fucking stupid.
However, if you watch the movie, it looks like another "The Thing" 2011 where a lot of the practical effects were overlaid with obvious CGI animation. Studio tampering or were the practical effects only used for reference?
you are just blind and want to complain about something... there were really few cgi improvements on the practical effects, the chest burster had none, the facehugger attached had none, the xenomorphs in every close up scene had none...
@@dan_hitchman007 Absolutely not. 90% of this movie was practical with minimal CGI minus Rook, spaceships, & in short scenes where animatronics/suits couldn’t be used.
A lot of thoughts put into the chestburster practical effect. This is pure old school filmmaking.
Them giving it a birth sac and the colour changes was such amazing touches that made it feel like a real organic creature on screen.
Loved how they chose to go heavy on the practical effects. The movie felt gritty and looked amazing.
Idk why peoples care abt what is cgi or not as it is well done, cgi artists are artists too did u know?
@@albert_mry The actors can certainly tell, which affects their performances.
Sub-standard amature practical effects.
Just realizing this but the chestburster isn’t just smaller cuz of Aileen Wu but also cuz of the accelerated and possibly even premature lifecycle.

Just pure cinema. Practical effects are so much better.
Facehugger..... most terrifying creature ever
Really though? Choking and deep throating... sounds like stuff people do behind close doors.
have you played alien resurrection on playstation that game is so scary
Practical effects > CGI
Movie is filled with cgi and many practical shots get replaced digitally.
It's a very good movie. I really like this director.
That color change of the chestburster is sooo coool
I just love the care that goes into this effects work. So cool.
That's a sick bluray cover
Omg. If they put these in a museum somewhere and charged admission I'd soooo totally be there!!!
Roger Dicken designed the chesburster based on Giger's adult alien head. Giger's chesburster looked more like a plucked bird.
Just so damn good, a guys who's grown up on alien ... LOVED IT! and such a stand alone
but have to admit the effects & setts SOLD IT!! so HARD!
Thank GOD they used practical effects.. CGI would have been HORRIBLE😅
Oh man, I really want an extended edition showing Big Chap causing chaos before they finally kill him.
There is a prequel comic book that is supposed to show this, so keep an eye out for it.
@themidnightchoiryeah i thought they were shot into space? is that supposed to be the same alien in romulus that was hanging from the air?
It’s honestly terrifying to see Navarro get attacked and have a face hugger on her!
Very good❤😁💘
always amazing ! 😊

interesting
Ridley is so old now, I hate time.
The first Alien movie came out 45 years ago 😏
@@andytfmedia I know I was there!
How things have changed in one lifetime…
I hope Ridley Scott and David Cameron can someday make "Aliens 2" with colonial marines

@@jasongradyphstiger6179 brilliant !
The only thing I would have changed is the blood. The chestburster needed to be bloodier, like Kane.
If pulling out the facehugger from her was a practical effect that she is is one talented woman
Alec gillis ... Handsome 😘
facehugger walking on floor looked fake
ohh
that chest burster scene **chefs kiss**

A damn shame the film itself was tripe.
i dont like the chestbuster the pilot looks like a wallet LMAO i guess they wanted an original alien
Ridley screwed it with promethebullshit again
but he actually didn’t

Even the hybrid is practical .
because of practical effects they only spent about 80 million dollars on it, what are ya yapping about??

can’t they find any actors who aren’t British? it’s getting pretty boring seeing the same British accents and actors in every movie

But hey I like it
