I just love that the boys all struggle writing poems while Simon comes in with an original composition and a whole choir to perform his love song for Wille.
Across all the parallels that this show has done between both seasons (which they just do very very well, really a proof of great and well-thought writing), Marcus asking for the names of Simon’s fishes vs Wilhelm with Simon in S1 is my most favorite. Such a great way of showing to us how Wilhelm and their moments together are irreplaceable for Simon.
I liked when Simon kept the names of his fish as a special moment between him and Wille. I liked the masquerade ball in general. Omar’s acting and singing really shines. The emotions on his face after Wille says he’s letting Simon go and won’t bother him anymore, and also right after that, when Marcus is talking but you can tell Simon is still so affected by his conversation with Wilhelm. And of course, the kiss(es). They’re just so sweet and happy. E4 gave me hope that they’ll have their happily ever after.
When Simon says the fish don't have names I feel like he is just protecting a very precious memory of his time with Wille. I don’t feel like he is trying to be dishonest. When Marcus gets there and many times when he is in his room mourning about losing Wille, he looks at the fish as if remembering that moment.
Oh and I also liked the conversation between Wilhelm and Felice. I was relieved that they’re back to being besties. I really like them as close friends. It was good that they worked things out.
The scene with the fish was very clever. The scene by the fish tank in S1 was so precious, and I think our minds going back to it reflects what Simon is doing, remembering that incomparable intimacy with Wille. And finally seeing Wille smile!
When Wille told Simon he was gonna leave him alone Simon looked like his whole life flashed before his eyes lol. I knew then it was game over for Marcus.
Also, I envy you guys quite a lot that you just started watching this masterpiece of a show. After S2 you can literally slide straight into S3 while we had to wait almost one and a half freaking years for the final season 😭 but I’m beyond excited for it!!!! 🤩
I just love you guys for clocking ALL the details in this episode!!! So many reactors that I’ve seen have forgotten about the fish scene from episode one… among other important things. It’s a joy to watch you!
Guys I NEED Matt’s shirt because I am a Simon Stan for life! On that front I know using Marcus to make Wilhelm jealous wasn’t his finest hour but he only did that because he was hurt about finding out about Wilhelm and Felice. And although it’s not nice to use Marcus in this way I don’t really feel bad for him because Simon literally tried to break up with him and he gas lighted him into staying in the relationship so whatever happens to him is his fault. Also he totally kiss Simon in front of Willie on purpose so he can f*** off in my opinion. I didn’t realize so many people loved this episode so much but I guess it’s because it’s the first Wilmon kiss of the season. I myself like episode 5 the best because really big things happen and I can’t wait to see your reactions!

22:57 In S2, August becomes a much more complex character. He makes horrible choices and betrays Wilhelm in the most despicable way, yet is so vulnerable with Sara. Malte’s acting is as noteworthy as Edvin’s and Omar’s.

10:08 I’m not sure if you caught it, but she does say that part (most?) of the reason why she had feelings for him was because he’s a prince. But it’s right that Wille apologized to her. He knew that she’d be receptive to his advances. Also, Wilhelm was trying to re-create the moment he had with Simon that day after he was high/drunk on the football field. “Will you hold me?” As he said, he was trying to see if it’d feel the same as it did with Simon.
Episode 5 is my favourite in both Seasons! also I love Panos' whole journey about hating August, liking how he is while with Sarah, feeling for him and then going back to disliking 😄 but how good is the writing of this show; our hearts break for August and then... what, are we actually feeling sorry for him right now...?🤯
This one really is one of my favourites. For the first time this season, Wille has reason to smile. That in itself makes this a great episode! The entire scene with Simon, Wille, and Marcus was great. I honestly do believe Wille when he said he was just trying to be polite. There wasn't any plot to get into Simon's head, but that's exactly what he did. Simon intentionally brought Marcus to the ball, and paraded him around Wille just to make him jealous. Obviously, that backfired spectacularly. That bought on the amazing kiss. The way they breathe each other in before the kiss is fantastic! It's so primal. Love is primal. Desire is primal. I don't even want to delve into the whole August and Sara thing. It seems so sweet and pure on the outside, but we all know this whole relationship is based on lies and deceit. August is a bad person, and Sara really isn't any better.
Couldn't agree more. Simon is out here playing games and falling right back into Wille's arms. But we are here for it. Totally agree on that kiss. Magnetic, and we can't say it enough. The actors are incredible 👏 We love the tenderness between Sara and August, but you are right, we don't see it lasting, and it somewhat makes us uncomfortable that Sara hasn't mentioned it to Felice or her brother yet. the fish scene is so good. also the scene where wille is crying ooking at himself on the mirror is an instant classic. so much symbolism. also, marcus wasnt doing it for simon, he was doing it for the same reasons he kissed him in the competition!
He is asking because he is a homophobic asshole. Wille could produce heirs even with a male partner. And if they used Sarah's egg, the baby could be biologically connected to Simon as well.
I think YR, in general, shows more classism than homophobia. Nils even says that Simon is a nobody. The Queen said that she’d had “an unfortunate relationship” after the video leak. I took that to mean that she fell in love with someone who wasn’t high born, some commoner.
The translation is wrong when Nils talkes to Wilhelm. Nils actually says that Simon is like anybody. He doesn’t say nobody. As a swede just want to clarify that.

Can I just say that, omg, I *love* the scene where Simon refuses to tell Marcus the fishes’ names. And, I know I keep harping on about his articles but, tvmicroscope wrote an amazing article that adds so much more depth to the fish scenes (both this one and the wilmon one from 1.05) - it’s the most recent Christmas special if you’re curious. Vague summary of the article: the water is a metaphor for feelings, and the fish live in water and cannot speak. The fish are the typically unspoken and unspeakable feelings. And, finally, the whole fish-naming scene is almost definitely a bible reference.
That’s super interesting, thank you for sharing! There’s a lot of metaphors and hidden meanings in the story, and we will probably need to watch it all a second or even third time to catch everything 😅
@@therainbowreels Not to sound alarming but I’ve watched this series so many times I’ve lost count and I’m still discovering new things every time I watch it. Also, fun thing to watch out for, I guess, the lockers are a metaphor for secrets. If you can see inside the locker you, the audience, either already know the secret or will find out about it soon, whereas if you can’t see inside the locker you don’t know their secret and you won’t find it out for a while (it’s slightly more complicated than that for Madison, but that’s a whole other thing).
8:12 Wille didn’t pass the puck last time after seeing Marcus kissing Simon, and now Simon hits Wille with the ball because of jealousy about Felice and Wille making out. A lot of people say that Simon is a hypocrite or that he can’t be upset because he’s “with” Marcus. But Simon knows that he doesn’t have feelings for Marcus, so he’s oblivious to how it looks, but he doesn’t want Wille to be with Felice.
It’s just so many emotions! That scene clearly showed that Simon still has feelings for Wille, otherwise he wouldn’t have been upset and try to hit him with the ball 😅
Wille tried to hit Simon with the ball first. The author of the show, Lisa, also said that Simon is not the jealous type, instead he was upset how everybody were commenting about a straight couple like it was big news, while when they found out about him and Wille, everybody acted like it was something bad. It shows when they asked Wille to stand up on the table and be proud about. Another thing that I found interesting is that Wille seems upset with the whole table situation but the moment Simon leaves, he smiles with the guys, this why Simon says to Wille that Markus is at least open about liking him and presenting him to his friends. It does not matter if Wille does not like or is not friends with the rich kids, he still acts like he is.
With you saying about how the royal court is the true villain, I get where you’re coming from but you’ve also definitely missed a few things. Like, Kristina explicitly states that August is the *backup.* She’s not trying to replace Wilhelm, she was forced to agree to August being the backup (next in line *after Wilhelm)* because, realistically, Wilhelm is a loose cannon for them. He generally seems very unstable and, really, they’re just putting precautions in place for if he decides to abdicate (which he’s already threatened to do!!) and August just happens to be the closest living relative. Kristina is *absolutely* not a good mother, but I often get where she’s coming from. She was raised similarly to Wilhelm (to believe that you don’t matter as an individual, just as your role/title (eg: Wille was raised to believe that he only matters as Prince Wilhelm 🥲)) and she just never realised how damaging that was. She’s trapped in the system almost as much as Wille is. Realistically, the true “villain” is hereditary monarchies - the fact that people are born into so much wealth with so little freedom. Honestly though, if I had to think of one song that *truly* represents Kristina and Wilhelm (and Erik, sorta?) and their lives, it’s Rabbit Heart (Raise It Up) by _Florence + the Machine._
I think in the heat of the moment we branded the royal court as the true villain, not only because of Kristina’a relationship with Wille or them preparing August as backup, but also Jan-Olaf’s behaviour towards Wille and the guards trying to forcibly remove him from the school in the earlier episode. But you definitely make an interesting point in regards to the hereditary monarchy system being the actual problem. Thank you for watching!!

Ok, first of all, LOVE THE T-SHIRTS!?!!! As for August, by this point in the story his character's arc has you experiencing conflicting feelings but *without spoilers* he is and will always be "power-hungry"; that's just his essence. Now, it's interesting to see how Sara is concerned about her friendship with Felice to the point to keeping August as a secret, however, it´s ironic that she forgets the actual most important person whose relationship she should prioritize; Simon, her brother. Yeah, she has feeling for August but let's not forget he's still responsible for leaking the sex tape. Simon is obviously using Marcus as a rebound, not that is actually working tho. Marcus can't seem to take a hint, I swear. I LOVE Wille being the bigger person and deciding to step aside in order to move on. Even if that changed after Simon kissed him, he finally understood that as painful as it may be, he had to respect Simon´s bounderies once and for all and also prioritize his own sake too. As for Wilmon's kiss, god was i happy! lol. Yeah, they are really good at kissing, the actors' chemistry is unmatched!! Love the reaction! 💜💜

We were hoping the t-shirts would create a good reaction! 😁 Completely agreed about August, he has a very interesting character arc and definitely a few moments where you feel for him as well, but overall we can’t forgive him for leaking the video. Sara needs to be very careful, otherwise she might end up losing the friendship with Felice, but also with Simon. Simon will probably be VERY upset when he finds out about her and August :( Let’s see what is going to happen next with Simon and Wille and if Marcus will try to get in between them again!
[ 8:42 ] Honestly, while I get Wille’s perspective, I don’t think Simon had double standards at all. Simon had already tried to break up with Marcus (which Wille obviously didn’t know about) only to get manipulated back into it. He actively told Marcus “You don’t need to show up at the rowing competition” (which is generally just a polite/indirect way of saying “I don’t want you there”, and I can totally understand *why* Simon wasn’t direct about it because, well, since when has Marcus ever respected his boundaries?), yet Marcus showed up and kissed him in front of Wille (Simon noticeably didn’t kiss him back and it literally looked like he had to manually remind himself to smile afterwards - which is a stark contrast to him and Wille smiling into most of their kisses). Plus, the entire time that Simon was hanging out with Marcus, Wille’s also constantly saying things to him like “are you dating Marcus?”, “Here’s a way we can be together again”, etc. If I were Simon I, too, would’ve wanted a heads up when my ex who’s been pestering me about getting back together suddenly kisses their best friend. TL;DR: - Simon had every right to want a heads up about Felice because: • He’d already tried to break up with Marcus. • He actively tried to indirectly ask Marcus not to show up at the rowing competition. • Marcus showed up anyway and kissed Simon in front of Wille like he was trying to stake his claim. • Wille was also pestering Simon about getting back together while all the aforementioned stuff was happening.
As you mentioned, Wille didn’t know that Simon had already tried to break up with Marcus. And Simon wasn’t being honest to Wille about the relationship, at the beginning he kept denying that there was something going on between them. So Wille felt betrayed when he eventually found out. After Wille had kissed Felice, it probably would have been the right thing to tell Simon, but not sure if Simon had every right to know about it.

Also, to be fair to Simon, he never *technically* lied about Marcus, there were just a lot of half-truths. Simon never intended (or wanted!) Marcus to kiss him at the rowing competition, Marcus just invited himself and kissed Simon (also the ‘you’ll get them next *year’* - bold assumption from Marcus that they’ll still be “together” next year).

There was a lot of miscommunication and half-truths between Simon and Wille regarding Marcus, so once Wille saw them kissing, to him it felt like Simon had “lied” to him, even if that’s not technically true.
I agree, this was the wrong shirt for this episode - at least for me. I find it so hard to watch Wilhelm going through so many downs. As much as I understand Simon's hurt, the way he searches for for ways in this episode to actively hurt Wilhelm 😢. Be the angry ball game, or him yelling at Wilhelm about Marcus being open about him and that he (Simon) can't accept Wilhelm and his role and family, but especially inviting Marcus to the ball with the clear intent of making Wilhelm jealous and even more miserable. I'm sorry, but he absolutely doesn't deserve that, especially with all the pressure he's been under AND his grief. His brother just died, he inherited a whole country, he had almost no time nor support to mourn his loss. Give Wille a break 💔

I think the phone call where August is asked all the question is that royal council The Olaf dude was Homophobic, but have since changed my mind. We will see in the next season. Anyways I keep in mind these are "kids" and yes seldom does first loves last into adulthood, so the Queen does have it right for wanting Wille to wait until he is 18. But I sure hope Wille and Simon have a lasting love..lol It would be funny if August and Sara married and have children that could become Heir..lol Just re-writing the story.

Kristina is betraying Wille by ploting behind his back, by chosing his assaulter, by asking for a straight man. Yes her words vs her actions. I think Wille needs to know to let go definitively of his mother. Sara betrays deeply Simon, by sleeping with his assaulter, by protecting August. Ad Felice can just be disappointed by Sara behavior, but she is npt really the one betrayed, Simon is. I agree August is in love and is bearable near Sara. But he is still vill outside of it,still ploting for power. Vincent, remember ep1 s1 in church first scene when he made fun of the choir and of Simon....well always been mean. And yes power amplifies meaness I suppose. True August tells Alex the true, but out of context, because at the time August was just plotting to expel Simon, and made that all thing up. Wille found a bad solution yes, but we can see that unfortunately he was right: Alex didn't feel any consequence, while Simon would have just lost a school. So now August is using it to attack Wille, not to help Alex. He is using him.
I think we can all agree that Kristina is not a great mother. I think the problem is that first and foremost she’s the Queen and only secondly a mother. However, I wouldn’t say that she is plotting behind Wille’s back. She even mentions to August that it was not her “idea” to have him as backup, but unfortunately there is no one else in the family who could fill the role. She should have immediately shared this information with Wille though! I have a really bad feeling about Sara and Simon, once he finds out that she is together with August! Their relationship won’t be the same anymore :( Now that Alex knows the “truth”, hopefully he won’t bring up this whole topic again and get Simon into trouble and potentially even expelled! 🥲

In my opinion, the only reason August tells Alex is because he's hurt about Sara not going to the ball with him, so he lashes out. The royal court are trying to control both Wilhelm and August's lives - but although they know Wilhelm had a thing with one Eriksson sibling, they have no idea at this point that the second in line to the throne is having a thing with the other Erikson sibling. Given that they are mixed race and from a lower class, I can't imagine they'd be happy about August and Sara - although marginally happier than Wilhelm being in a gay relationship with Simon. I thought it very telling in Kristina's conversation with Wille she says something like 'CHOOSE to be in an unconventional relationship' - when for Wille it's not a choice, just who he is and who he has fallen in love with. I like August and Sara together - I think she could be good for him. Sara is experiencing these emotions for the first time. And although Eric says in 1.01 that August sleeps around, I have a feeling his love for Sara is a first for him as well. I love Simon to bits but he was definitely flaunting Marcus in front of Wilhelm at the ball. Which backfired spectacularly. He was shocked to the core that Wilhelm was prepared to let him go. I missed it at first, but Wilhelm does try to hit Simon first in the dodgeball, but missed. Simon doesn't miss, though.
August and Sara are definitely in love. It’ll be interesting to see how their relationship will impact the people around them though. Mostly thinking about Simon, Wille and Felice here. Kristina also mentioned before that Wille should wait until he’s 18 to make a final “decision”. It sounds like she is hoping by the time he turns 18, Wille has come to his senses, and that being gay was perhaps just a phase. Good point, we didn’t see it either that Wille tried to hit Simon first!
It hurt a bit seeing none of you wearing team Wilhelm shirt only team Simon 💔😔. I’m team Wilhelm and can wear that tshirt instead. But I do like Simon too even if I prefer Wilhelm , and would love for Wilhelm and Simon to be together in the end 🫶🏻. I don’t like Marcus, but he doesn’t deserve this treatment from Simon. I was a bit stressed when you talked so much without hitting paus on the video 🫣. It is so much details in this show that you can miss ☺️.
The reason August tells Alexander that Wille framed him for the drugs, is because Sara stood him up. August is good when they are together, but the moment he is about to lose her (or thinks he lost her), he turns evil again. Sara makes August a better person because she loves him for who he is. For August, everything has always been about appearance (marrying Felice because she is noble, his body dysmorphia, looking good on photographs etc). When he invites her to the ball, she says that everyone will understand that she likes him. And he says "who cares what people think". For August, that is transformational. He is definitely in love with her.
Absolutely no question that August and Sara are in love with each other! They are great when they spend time together, but the smallest insecurities seem to throw him off and as you said he felt vulnerable and then talked to Alexander. Waiting to see Alexander and Wille clash at some point.

10:08 I’m not sure if you caught it, but she does say that part (most?) of the reason why she had feelings for him was because he’s a prince. But it’s right that Wille apologized to her. He knew that she’d be receptive to his advances. Also, Wilhelm was trying to re-create the moment he had with Simon that day after he was high/drunk on the football field. “Will you hold me?” As he said, he was trying to see if it’d feel the same as it did with Simon.

This one really is one of my favourites. For the first time this season, Wille has reason to smile. That in itself makes this a great episode! The entire scene with Simon, Wille, and Marcus was great. I honestly do believe Wille when he said he was just trying to be polite. There wasn't any plot to get into Simon's head, but that's exactly what he did. Simon intentionally brought Marcus to the ball, and paraded him around Wille just to make him jealous. Obviously, that backfired spectacularly. That bought on the amazing kiss. The way they breathe each other in before the kiss is fantastic! It's so primal. Love is primal. Desire is primal.
I don't even want to delve into the whole August and Sara thing. It seems so sweet and pure on the outside, but we all know this whole relationship is based on lies and deceit. August is a bad person, and Sara really isn't any better.
Couldn't agree more. Simon is out here playing games and falling right back into Wille's arms. But we are here for it.

I think YR, in general, shows more classism than homophobia. Nils even says that Simon is a nobody. The Queen said that she’d had “an unfortunate relationship” after the video leak. I took that to mean that she fell in love with someone who wasn’t high born, some commoner.
The translation is wrong when Nils talkes to Wilhelm. Nils actually says that Simon is like anybody. He doesn’t say nobody. As a swede just want to clarify that.

Can I just say that, omg, I *love* the scene where Simon refuses to tell Marcus the fishes’ names. And, I know I keep harping on about his articles but, tvmicroscope wrote an amazing article that adds so much more depth to the fish scenes (both this one and the wilmon one from 1.05) - it’s the most recent Christmas special if you’re curious.
Vague summary of the article: the water is a metaphor for feelings, and the fish live in water and cannot speak. The fish are the typically unspoken and unspeakable feelings. And, finally, the whole fish-naming scene is almost definitely a bible reference.
That’s super interesting, thank you for sharing! There’s a lot of metaphors and hidden meanings in the story, and we will probably need to watch it all a second or even third time to catch everything 😅
@@therainbowreels Not to sound alarming but I’ve watched this series so many times I’ve lost count and I’m still discovering new things every time I watch it. Also, fun thing to watch out for, I guess, the lockers are a metaphor for secrets. If you can see inside the locker you, the audience, either already know the secret or will find out about it soon, whereas if you can’t see inside the locker you don’t know their secret and you won’t find it out for a while (it’s slightly more complicated than that for Madison, but that’s a whole other thing).
8:12 Wille didn’t pass the puck last time after seeing Marcus kissing Simon, and now Simon hits Wille with the ball because of jealousy about Felice and Wille making out.
A lot of people say that Simon is a hypocrite or that he can’t be upset because he’s “with” Marcus. But Simon knows that he doesn’t have feelings for Marcus, so he’s oblivious to how it looks, but he doesn’t want Wille to be with Felice.
It’s just so many emotions! That scene clearly showed that Simon still has feelings for Wille, otherwise he wouldn’t have been upset and try to hit him with the ball 😅
Wille tried to hit Simon with the ball first. The author of the show, Lisa, also said that Simon is not the jealous type, instead he was upset how everybody were commenting about a straight couple like it was big news, while when they found out about him and Wille, everybody acted like it was something bad. It shows when they asked Wille to stand up on the table and be proud about.
Another thing that I found interesting is that Wille seems upset with the whole table situation but the moment Simon leaves, he smiles with the guys, this why Simon says to Wille that Markus is at least open about liking him and presenting him to his friends. It does not matter if Wille does not like or is not friends with the rich kids, he still acts like he is.

With you saying about how the royal court is the true villain, I get where you’re coming from but you’ve also definitely missed a few things. Like, Kristina explicitly states that August is the *backup.* She’s not trying to replace Wilhelm, she was forced to agree to August being the backup (next in line *after Wilhelm)* because, realistically, Wilhelm is a loose cannon for them. He generally seems very unstable and, really, they’re just putting precautions in place for if he decides to abdicate (which he’s already threatened to do!!) and August just happens to be the closest living relative.
Kristina is *absolutely* not a good mother, but I often get where she’s coming from. She was raised similarly to Wilhelm (to believe that you don’t matter as an individual, just as your role/title (eg: Wille was raised to believe that he only matters as Prince Wilhelm 🥲)) and she just never realised how damaging that was. She’s trapped in the system almost as much as Wille is. Realistically, the true “villain” is hereditary monarchies - the fact that people are born into so much wealth with so little freedom.
Honestly though, if I had to think of one song that *truly* represents Kristina and Wilhelm (and Erik, sorta?) and their lives, it’s Rabbit Heart (Raise It Up) by _Florence + the Machine._
I think in the heat of the moment we branded the royal court as the true villain, not only because of Kristina’a relationship with Wille or them preparing August as backup, but also Jan-Olaf’s behaviour towards Wille and the guards trying to forcibly remove him from the school in the earlier episode. But you definitely make an interesting point in regards to the hereditary monarchy system being the actual problem. Thank you for watching!!

Ok, first of all, LOVE THE T-SHIRTS!?!!!
As for August, by this point in the story his character's arc has you experiencing conflicting feelings but *without spoilers* he is and will always be "power-hungry"; that's just his essence.
Now, it's interesting to see how Sara is concerned about her friendship with Felice to the point to keeping August as a secret, however, it´s ironic that she forgets the actual most important person whose relationship she should prioritize; Simon, her brother. Yeah, she has feeling for August but let's not forget he's still responsible for leaking the sex tape.
Simon is obviously using Marcus as a rebound, not that is actually working tho. Marcus can't seem to take a hint, I swear.
I LOVE Wille being the bigger person and deciding to step aside in order to move on. Even if that changed after Simon kissed him, he finally understood that as painful as it may be, he had to respect Simon´s bounderies once and for all and also prioritize his own sake too. As for Wilmon's kiss, god was i happy! lol. Yeah, they are really good at kissing, the actors' chemistry is unmatched!! Love the reaction! 💜💜

Completely agreed about August, he has a very interesting character arc and definitely a few moments where you feel for him as well, but overall we can’t forgive him for leaking the video. Sara needs to be very careful, otherwise she might end up losing the friendship with Felice, but also with Simon. Simon will probably be VERY upset when he finds out about her and August :(
Let’s see what is going to happen next with Simon and Wille and if Marcus will try to get in between them again!
The next two episodes and the trailer are going to be a roller coaster. You’re so lucky you don’t have to wait for s3!

[ 8:42 ] Honestly, while I get Wille’s perspective, I don’t think Simon had double standards at all. Simon had already tried to break up with Marcus (which Wille obviously didn’t know about) only to get manipulated back into it. He actively told Marcus “You don’t need to show up at the rowing competition” (which is generally just a polite/indirect way of saying “I don’t want you there”, and I can totally understand *why* Simon wasn’t direct about it because, well, since when has Marcus ever respected his boundaries?), yet Marcus showed up and kissed him in front of Wille (Simon noticeably didn’t kiss him back and it literally looked like he had to manually remind himself to smile afterwards - which is a stark contrast to him and Wille smiling into most of their kisses). Plus, the entire time that Simon was hanging out with Marcus, Wille’s also constantly saying things to him like “are you dating Marcus?”, “Here’s a way we can be together again”, etc. If I were Simon I, too, would’ve wanted a heads up when my ex who’s been pestering me about getting back together suddenly kisses their best friend.
TL;DR:
- Simon had every right to want a heads up about Felice because:
• He’d already tried to break up with Marcus.
• He actively tried to indirectly ask Marcus not to show up at the rowing competition.
• Marcus showed up anyway and kissed Simon in front of Wille like he was trying to stake his claim.
• Wille was also pestering Simon about getting back together while all the aforementioned stuff was happening.
As you mentioned, Wille didn’t know that Simon had already tried to break up with Marcus. And Simon wasn’t being honest to Wille about the relationship, at the beginning he kept denying that there was something going on between them. So Wille felt betrayed when he eventually found out.
After Wille had kissed Felice, it probably would have been the right thing to tell Simon, but not sure if Simon had every right to know about it.

Also, to be fair to Simon, he never *technically* lied about Marcus, there were just a lot of half-truths. He never denied that he knew Marcus, he just didn’t make it clear that they were hanging out. He wasn’t *dating* Marcus, per se, they were just hanging out in a romantic context. Simon never intended (or wanted!) Marcus to kiss him at the rowing competition, Marcus just invited himself and kissed Simon (also the ‘you’ll get them next *year’* - bold assumption from Marcus that they’ll still be “together” next year).
Oh yeah, that makes sense! Thanks for clarifying. Of course he had every right to want to know about the kiss. There was a lot of miscommunication and half-truths between Simon and Wille regarding Marcus, so once Wille saw them kissing, to him it felt like Simon had “lied” to him, even if that’s not technically true.
I agree, this was the wrong shirt for this episode - at least for me. I find it so hard to watch Wilhelm going through so many downs. As much as I understand Simon's hurt, the way he searches for for ways in this episode to actively hurt Wilhelm 😢. Be the angry ball game, or him yelling at Wilhelm about Marcus being open about him and that he (Simon) can't accept Wilhelm and his role and family, but especially inviting Marcus to the ball with the clear intent of making Wilhelm jealous and even more miserable. I'm sorry, but he absolutely doesn't deserve that, especially with all the pressure he's been under AND his grief. His brother just died, he inherited a whole country, he had almost no time nor support to mourn his loss. Give Wille a break 💔

I think the phone call where August is asked all the question is that royal council The Olaf dude was Homophobic, but have since changed my mind. We will see in the next season. Anyways I keep in mind these are "kids" and yes seldom does first loves last into adulthood, so the Queen does have it right for wanting Wille to wait until he is 18. But I sure hope Wille and Simon have a lasting love..lol It would be funny if August and Sara married and have children that could become Heir..lol Just re-writing the story.

Kristina is betraying Wille by ploting behind his back, by chosing his assaulter, by asking for a straight man. Yes her words vs her actions. I think Wille needs to know to let go definitively of his mother.
Sara betrays deeply Simon, by sleeping with his assaulter, by protecting August. Ad Felice can just be disappointed by Sara behavior, but she is npt really the one betrayed, Simon is.

True August tells Alex the true, but out of context, because at the time August was just plotting to expel Simon, and made that all thing up. Wille found a bad solution yes, but we can see that unfortunately he was right: Alex didn't feel any consequence, while Simon would have just lost a school.
So now August is using it to attack Wille, not to help Alex. He is using him.
I think we can all agree that Kristina is not a great mother. I think the problem is that first and foremost she’s the Queen and only secondly a mother. However, I wouldn’t say that she is plotting behind Wille’s back. She even mentions to August that it was not her “idea” to have him as backup, but unfortunately there is no one else in the family who could fill the role. She should have immediately shared this information with Wille though!
I have a really bad feeling about Sara and Simon, once he finds out that she is together with August! Their relationship won’t be the same anymore :(

In my opinion, the only reason August tells Alex is because he's hurt about Sara not going to the ball with him, so he lashes out. The royal court are trying to control both Wilhelm and August's lives - but although they know Wilhelm had a thing with one Eriksson sibling, they have no idea at this point that the second in line to the throne is having a thing with the other Erikson sibling. Given that they are mixed race and from a lower class, I can't imagine they'd be happy about August and Sara - although marginally happier than Wilhelm being in a gay relationship with Simon. I thought it very telling in Kristina's conversation with Wille she says something like 'CHOOSE to be in an unconventional relationship' - when for Wille it's not a choice, just who he is and who he has fallen in love with.
I like August and Sara together - I think she could be good for him. Sara is experiencing these emotions for the first time. And although Eric says in 1.01 that August sleeps around, I have a feeling his love for Sara is a first for him as well.
I love Simon to bits but he was definitely flaunting Marcus in front of Wilhelm at the ball. Which backfired spectacularly. He was shocked to the core that Wilhelm was prepared to let him go.
I missed it at first, but Wilhelm does try to hit Simon first in the dodgeball, but missed. Simon doesn't miss, though.
August and Sara are definitely in love. It’ll be interesting to see how their relationship will impact the people around them though. Mostly thinking about Simon, Wille and Felice here.
Kristina also mentioned before that Wille should wait until he’s 18 to make a final “decision”. It sounds like she is hoping by the time he turns 18, Wille has come to his senses, and that being gay was perhaps just a phase.

The reason August tells Alexander that Wille framed him for the drugs, is because Sara stood him up. August is good when they are together, but the moment he is about to lose her (or thinks he lost her), he turns evil again. Sara makes August a better person because she loves him for who he is. For August, everything has always been about appearance (marrying Felice because she is noble, his body dysmorphia, looking good on photographs etc). When he invites her to the ball, she says that everyone will understand that she likes him. And he says "who cares what people think". For August, that is transformational. He is definitely in love with her.
Absolutely no question that August and Sara are in love with each other! They are great when they spend time together, but the smallest insecurities seem to throw him off and as you said he felt vulnerable and then talked to Alexander. Waiting to see Alexander and Wille clash at some point.
