    Skin care routine’s are just one of those things that you can’t borrow from somebody else. Some people have skin that thrives on a ten step process and others have skin that breaks out if they use anything more than crushed aloe and water. It is such a relief when you find a routine that works for you and your skin stops feeling like the enemy.

      Try spearmint tea! Game changer! Esp if you have little bumps on your forehead!

      Nicole I love spearmint and peppermint tea ! ♡ I deal with mainly hyperpigmentation on my cheeks! + breakouts there too so I assume it's hormonal 😩

    • @Nicole-tz3xz
      @Nicole-tz3xz 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I've got the same problem. Except finally just dealing with hyper pigmentation now! Idk how to fix it though. I've taken lots of pics of my face and can see that three months ago the pigment was way darker than it is now so time heals it a bit! I am using vitamin C serum now and a dermaroller every 2 weeks ish. Still pretty red in some places. But takin it day by day :) Yeah hormones are like crazy! I don't wanna go on birth control either bc I just wanna fix this au naturally! So spearmint tea does something with the excess testosterone at least! And I'm focussing on each meal being more balanced like before I went vegan!

    i started breaking out so much this year and i always felt super insecure about it. All my friends literally have the most perfect skin, so it’s hard being the only one with acne. Your videos make me feel so much better about myself and remind me to love me so called “imperfections”. Thank you so mich for sharing this video as well as other videos about your own acne journey. Overall thank you for making content that spreads positivity :))

    Rosehip oil helps me SO SO SO much with hyperpigmentation! I have periods where my skin is absolutely flawless and I won't break out but then summer/ fall comes around and I break out around my cheeks A LOT. Getting rid of acne is one struggle and healing the hyperpigmentation is another. That's where the oil comes in handy!! I just use it at night and it REALLY helps and is great for acne prone skin :))) I swear by it! It also makes you look super glowy and alive.

    I did hear that when you are going through major emotional purging/spiritual awakening, the signs of purging and awakening can show on your skin or in body ailments. I had a pretty huge spiritual awakening/emotional purge this past month, and this was the worst my skin had EVER been.. and it was huge flat cystic bumps all along my face, back, chest.. painful ones too. It was tough because at this time I was so extremely sensitive and vulnerable and wasn't feeling my best in any way at all, and having that terrible acne on top of it definitely put me in a place where I was pushed to just fully accept myself for how I was in the moment.. and leaving my house was a true test of not allowing other's looking at me or judging me to get to me. and even just accepting MYSELF, which is oddly the hardest part. It's like I'm constantly taking into account what people will think, and sometimes I wonder if that's just a projection of what I'm thinking about myself that in my mind I think is what other people are saying or thinking about me... if that makes any sense. It's tough, but once you're out on the other side of it all.. it feels great and extremely empowering and liberating! :D

    This is really nice to see because I always hear fellow vegans talking about how veganism cleared all their acne, but it didn’t really help with mine? And idk it’s just awesome to see another vegan that still struggles with acne sometimes.

    • @NoPr0bl3ms
      @NoPr0bl3ms 6 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      As someone with actual experience working in dermatology, I can assure you that no dermatologist would prescribe a vegan diet to clear up acne. Dietary remedies don't have any CONCLUSIVE scientific backing to support the claim that they will clear up acne... but this, along with many other bullshit claims (like drink lots of water) are rampantly spread around the internet. I'd strongly urge you to see a dermatologist who can give you professional and science-based information.

    I've been having a terrible breakout since the start of this year, every inch of my skin covered in inflamed acne, cystic acne, tiny closed comedones. I KNEW it was all coming from the inside, I just had to listen really hard to my body.I finally found the culprit. Chickpeas! Im allergic to gluten, dairy, soy, and lentils, and I found out chickpeas have the same protein structure as soy. Soy will break me out in cystic acne in a heartbeat. I'm so thankful that our bodies will speak to us if we only take a moment to truly listen.

    This video definitely hit home. I have been dealing with hormonal acne for quite a while now. About a year and a half ago I went to a dermatologist and was put on a pretty strong antibiotic. While on it, my skin was porcelain. A year later, it has come back. It has been very difficult for me to cope with, taking a toll on my mental and physical health. I start my accutane journey in a few days and this has given me so much hope. Initially, I thought going vegan would completely heal my acne but it hasn’t. I’ve been vegan for three years now and it still feels amazing. Thank you so much for sharing this video with all of us. Sometimes you feel alone when it comes to these issues but having a community to share your thoughts and spread love truly helps.

    thank you so much for this video. I went through a really bad breakout probably around the same time you did. my skin's okay now, but back then I wasn't taking the greatest care of myself, was constantly stressed and eating way too much sugar for my body to handle - all of this resulted in hormonal imbalances and painful persistent pimples and bumps. having to go through a bunch of medical tests and checkups and eventually altering my lifestyle to heal my skin really taught me to respect my body more, to listen to it and have trust, and be humble and grateful. acne made me insecure and for a while my confidence dropped very low, but as time passed I learnt to say 'fuck it' more often and accept that this is how my skin looks right now, and I have to keep on living, learning and interacting with people, even if I can sometimes see mild disgust in their eyes when they look at my face

    i teared up watching this one. a single physical imperfection used to ruin entire weeks for me and about two years ago (after connecting with spirituality and mindfulness) i started realizing i couldn't keep giving in to insecurity and self-pity or I'd never really live or accomplish all i want to in life.

    In my last year of high school I started breaking out really bad. And it led to the point that I was skipping school almost every day. I lost a few friends, because I was never there. And luckely now my skin is almost clear, and I'm feeling so much happier about myself and life. But this was after I accepted my break outs, because my skin was literally deciding my life. If my skin was really bad, I only wanted to lay in bed. Btw, hitomi you're so beautiful, and maby even more beautiful with the scars. Harsh things make beauty always more beautiful.

    Oh yes all of it! I am so grateful for you and your truthfulness!! I am struggling with acne myself and it has been such a journey!! I have never had perfect skin yet it really got very bad around almost a year ago and i am recovering, it has gotten a lot better these days but i think as important all those lifestyle changes in terms of diet, sleeping patterns and products were - crucial was my inner dialog and how incredibly rude and disrespectful i was towards myself. Last winter I stopped putting make-up because my skin was just hurting so much yet i was also traveling by myself at that time. And as much as i wanted to just curl up and hide I had to put myself out there to make connections. It was then that i realized how much I relied on being "presentable" to perceive myself as "worthy to be seen/loved" - it made me furious. I had long hair and i decided to cut it off as well, to really shed myself from all those "outside" factors and dig deep into this insecurity or lack of self love. This may have been a bit drastic and over emotional decision back then yet it felt like an important thing to do for my self-worth. It has been a hell of journey but my lesson here is: you have to be nice and gentle to yourself. Self love is a hard job in the beginning that needs constant care and attention and maintenance. But it is so worth while. And interestingly enough i still made amazing friends, I've met a person that fell in love with me for who i was stripped down from the features that i thought I needed to have in order to receive any kind of love. It is a bumpy road but I am learning so much everyday, getting stronger every day and i love how i can take this strength and pass it on to someone else who i see is struggling as well. And that is what I see are you doing as well! I am very happy for you, you are beautiful and I wish you all the best because you deserve it all! Keep up your spirit. Sending you lots of love from the other side of the world

    I lived in NYC for 5 years and had the worst skin from all the pollution in the air...especially being in and out of the subway when the train would come by and blow up all the centuries of grit down there. My skin was never crystal clear until I left Nyc for good. But what helped was actually using less and less products. I wash with real aloe soap, witch hazel for sweaty days and then use organic almond oil on my face as moisturizer and that's it. Tea tree oil always gives me worse hyper pigmentation bc it's so strong even diluted. Love your videos hitomi!

    Just stumbled upon this video and first of all, I LOVE Follain-just visited their Boston store and picked up some of the things in your video!-second of all, if you don’t do ASMR you should your voice in the bathroom is so relaxing lol, and third, your skin is definitely glowing and any hyperpigmentation doesn’t detract from your beauty at all. It adds subtle dimension, you know? It gives me some confidence cause I have dark marks and hyperpigmentation pretty severely, especially on my cheeks, and it’s nice not to feel the pressure to wear high-coverage foundation, even at work where everyone else has seemingly perfect skin! Thanks for the video

    For any curious peeps, the topical prescribed medication she's using is called adapalene gel 0.3%, its just a stronger version of differin (.3% instead of the regular .1%). You can get the weaker one over the counter in your local drug store under the name Differin. I use the same exact one she has so that's how I know. I highly recommend it. It's a type of retinoid that helps cell turnover, scaring etc. Just trying to spread the word. xoxo

    Great video, I learned that avoiding dehydration and not exfoliating often was the key to happier skin (which is why I don’t recommend letting your skin air dry because that’s just dehydrating it (and the acne.org bp gel gets rids if spots to easily) I now LOVE moisturising. Glad you’re finally seeing results!

    I have acne all the time but my skin has gotten a lot better in the last few years and has moved away from being super cystic, but I still get cystic acne on my body and especially on my arms where I have a ton of scars. It’s something I’m learning to except and heal at the same time, I mean c’est la vie!!

    Hitomi you should try drinking a capful or two of black seed oil and also put it on the skin. It's amazing and I feel energized after taking it. In terms of skin it leaves my skin feeling so nice yet doesn't clog it. Also look into the comedogenic scale which is what dermatologists use to see which oils are non clogging basically.

    Other than diluted teatree oil (usually with other oils), you shouldn't be putting those on your face. Make sure to lather up on spf during the day as it sensitizes your skin

    You should try chia seed oil as moisturizer some day if you haven't already! I have oily/combination skin and it's very lightweight and soothing for my skin. The brand I use is CocoKind (vegan/cruelty-free/organic) :)

    You are just beautiful and your skin does not change that at all!
    Aloe vera, tea tree and jojoba oil helped my skin a lot when i had acne, i would recommend them all.
    Have you figured out what to do with your hair? I am so exited to see what you will do with it.
    Love from Denmark ;-*

    Hitomi, you are a beautiful girl. Acne is sometimes caused by hormones and everyone goes through this period in their life when they get pimples. A good product to try is "Stevia A", it will unclog pores and you only put it on your skin at night, it also helps speed up collagen growth so you do get that glowy skin. But you are a beautiful light and have been very brave to share all of your experience with us. I had a problem with Acne too when I was a teenager and tried all of the natural products first...then realized that medical science can help us too. It's not all detrimental. Love and Light and all that. :)

    Gut health is connected to acne. I advise to get your gut/stools checked by a functional medicine doctor. That has been helpful for me acne.

      Yep! While some of it is external, acne could be the result of allergens and imbalances. The whole body works together. Taking and internal and external approach may bring the best results for some people.(Myself included.)
