I was a young Canadian 12 year old living in Germany with my military dad. My lifelong love affair with the Steelers began at that moment. Steeler Nation has no borders. Franco remains legendary for me and for millions around the world. May this extraordinary example of a human being rest in peace. Number 32 forever. 🫶

Franco was one of the best running backs of the 70s. He was a big man so it always took defenses by surprise when he displayed the quickness & the speed & the moves of a halfback. I think it was this ability that was responsible for him rushing for over a thousand yards year in & year out during the great Steeler dynasty of the 70s. RIP
I love Bradshaw's story about Harris. What a loss of a great friend to Terry. I'll always remember Franco's Marching Italian Army as a kid from Detroit who was a Steelers fan. You always believe that your parents and heroes will never age and live forever. No matter how old you are, it's hard to accept.
Franco and Terry were my boyhood heroes! I was watching live when Franco caught the "immaculate reception" and we went crazy! Franco was a great football player and a gentleman too. RIP
This play began the days of The Steel Curtain and a sold out Three Rivers Stadium. Franco Harris remained a humble man and did great things for the community. Bradshaw is a master story teller, could listen to him all day! But this news really shocked me when I heard about it because of the timing, and I hadn't heard anything about him being ill. I mean, people die suddenly all the time but the timing of this is weird and sad.
Was driving to work the morning Franco died and my jaw hit the floor. Complete shock. Man it's crazy how the emotions just hit you especially watching the replays and his interviews. I was born and raised in a small town near to Pittsburgh. When Franco passed away - a LOT of my friends from home posted Facebook photos they took with Franco - random meetings from over the years - from a sidewalk in Pittsburgh, a shopping mall, a restaurant, Penn State games, you name it. It got me thinking about ALL the extra time he took for fans over the years. He must have been stopped and asked to snap photos a dozen times a day - or more. Yet he took the time with many, many fans - with patience, class, and in good cheer. That alone is quite a thing.

The feature back at PSU at the time was Lydell Mitchell. He got drafted by a horrible Colts team. He was their offense for the bulk of his way too short career. I often wondered what his career would have been if the Steelers would have drafted him. If Mitchell isn’t in the HOF he should be. Mitchell and Franco Harris was one badass backfields.

Didn't they come out with that new angle or enhanced film or whatever? It was clearly showing that it bounced off the shoulder pad of the Raiders player and Franco caught it the way he said he did? I thought that put the whole debate to rest. I've seen it a million times now and it's been clear as day to me that it was a fair catch.

I had a superstition before sitting down at the blackjack table in Vegas to go to the hotel spa first and get a manicure, something I would never do at home. So, I go in for my ritual manicure and the young lady asks if I would like a pedicure also, something I have never had before or since. Before I can tell her I would never consider such a sissy thing, I look to my right and two chairs down, there sits Franco Harris having a pedicure! I immediately say “Hell yes, let’s do it”!, I figured if it’s manly enough for Franco, it’s manly enough for me! I’ll never forget his chuckle and that sweet smile of his when he heard me say it.
Without Franco, Bradshaw does not win 4 Super Bowls. Where is the proof? Remember 1976 season? Franco missed the AFC Championship (1977) in Oakland (losing 24-7) due to being injured the previous week (beating Baltimore 40-14). Rocky Bleier was also injured, but Franco was the man.
Terry is not only a legendary player, but one of the great personalities of the sport. What a great story teller. And, RIP Franco. Far too soon.

Bradshaw has a very good memory with recalling the play calls from 45-50 years ago.
Plays are so complex today that QBs probably retain that info for about 45 to 50 seconds.
