Molly has been such an incredible companion. At 12 she still gets around pretty decent. I hope we can have at least this summer before it gets too hard on her.
Looks like a killer area and the campsite seemed great as well. I like the way you gather fire wood. Just like I would do. It's funny watching some of the other overlanding channels. They always put so much effort into it with chainsaws and axes. It makes me wonder why they just don't go wander around and pick up a bunch of deadfall instead of cutting and splitting logs. It's way easier and takes less time. Sure, I carry a folding saw to cut up a large and/or broken branches from an old down tree but the way some of them go after it you'd think they were putting up wood for winter. Anyway, great video. Always look forward to seeing them.
It’s pretty rare for me to not be able to run all of my fire needs with just deadfall. Some really highly visited places are picked over. Only downside to some of it is the type of wood. This area had a ton of mega dry willow. It burned super hot and fast so it took a good amount of wood to keep it going but there was enough around to last a long time. I never bring a chainsaw it’s just so much space and I’ve only had to turn around twice due to downed trees. If I was in the PNW I’d have to re think that. Overall my goal is to keep things simple and just explore.
Same. The scenery in this trip was amazing. It was a grey day so not captured as well as I’d have liked. The GX is… great. I’m liking it more and more each day.
Buying a 460 or 470 within the next 2 weeks. I am beyond excited to explore what Utah has to offer!
They are awesome rigs you will love.
I have a bad case of cabin fever right now, can't wait to get out soon and enjoy Utah.
I’ve been praying for snow… but I’m over it lol. I’ve gotten out a few times and hope to more soon.
I love the way this video is put together! It makes me so excited to take out my GX!
Thanks for watching! The GX is a great rig!
Thanks for the great views! Also nice to see that Molly can still go adventuring with you. Come on Spring!

that cabin is in such an awesome location.
It’s pretty rad!
Some really beautiful shots. Looks like a great area to explore. Thanks for taking the time to share.
Thanks for watching!
When I went on that road in 2013 the stone cabin was fenced off.
Interesting. There is a gate and a campsite right behind it nowadays
I've been in that area but only on the river, running Desolation Canyon. Cool seeing it from the road. Nice campsite. The Lexus is proving worthy.
That’s a dream trip for me to raft that entire run.
