Kera-kollektiivi: Vaikka seinät sortuisivat -dokumenttielokuva kertoo Helsinki Urban Artin Kera-kollektiivi -projektista Keran Halleilla Espoon Kerassa.
Kera-kollektiivin kaksivuotinen taival Keran Halleilla loi entisen logistiikkakeskuksen harmaille pinnoille väriä ja puhalsi uutta henkeä tyhjiin hallitiloihin. Alueelle syntyi kaupunkilaisten käytössä oleva viljelypalsta, Suomen suurin muraalikeskittymä ja kaksi tapahtumatilaa. Myös pihan entiset lastauslaiturit muuttuivat esiintymislavaksi.
Keväällä 2021, pahimpaan korona-aikaan, Concreate Urban Art Festival toi yhteen yli 40 urbaanin taiteen tekijää luomaan taidetta tapahtumatilojen, Lähettämön ja Konttorin, unohdetuille ja pölyisille pinnoille. Kahden viikon työskentelyn jälkeen tilat avattiin yleisölle. Puolentoista kuukauden aikana näyttelyä kävi ihailemassa lähes 10 000 vierailijaa. Samalla tiloista muodostui tapahtumapaikka, joka päästiin avaamaan tapahtumille heti silloisten rajoitusten helpotuttua.
Tiloissa järjestettiin monenlaisia tapahtumia, konserteista kirppareihin ja showpaini-näytöksiin sekä reiveistä kissanäyttelyihin. Erikoinen miljöö antoi kulttuurisisällöille oman ainutlaatuisen lisän. Käytön väliaikaisuus oli kuitenkin tiedossa. Haikein mutta kiitollisin mielin vietimme tilojen hautajaisia joulukuussa 2021. Tällä hetkellä kyseinen osa halleista on jo purettu. Toinen puoli Keran Halleista on vielä pystyssä vuoden 2025 kesän loppuun asti tarjoten monenlaisia palveluita. Sen jälkeen alueelle nousee uusi Kera, 14 000 asukkaan tulevaisuuden älykaupunginosa.

”Kera-kollektiivi: Until the walls come down” documentary tells about Helsinki Urban Art's Kera-kollektiivi (Kera Collective) project at Kera Hallit in Espoo.
The Kera-kollektiivi’s two-year operation brought colors on the gray surfaces of the former logistics center and breathed new life into the empty hall spaces. The area was home to a farming space used by the citizens, Finland's largest mural concentration and two event spaces. The yard's former loading docks were also turned into a performance stage.
In the spring of 2021, during the worst corona time, the Concreate Urban Art Festival brought together more than 40 urban art artists to create together on the forgotten and dusty surfaces of the future event spaces, Lähettämö and Konttori. After two weeks of work, the facilities were opened to the public. Over the period of one and a half moth, nearly 10,000 visitors came to admire the exhibition. At the same time, the premises became an event venues, which was opened for events as soon as the restrictions at that time were eased.
Many kinds of events were organized in the premises, from concerts to flea markets and wrestling shows, from raves to cat shows. The special milieu gave the cultural content its own unique addition. However, the temporary nature of the use was known. With a longing but grateful heart, we celebrated the funeral of the facilities in December 2021. At the moment, that part of the halls has already been demolished. The other half will still be standing until the end of the summer of 2025, offering a wide range of services. After that, the new Kera, a smart city neighborhood of the future with 14,000 inhabitants, will rise in the area.
