Forget the pounding with a hammer on the numbers that just doesn’t work, it will bend things up and looks terrible if it even does anything, get a laser engraver or somebody with a laser and have the numbers engraved, and that’s a good idea because God for bid if anybody has to use a gun to defend himself, and it is held as evidence, when you have a serial number of some kind on it it is logged in to evidence and you can actually look forward to getting it returned - maybe, Naine Keith use a laser engraver
@@Wolf_Avery not many except possibly a one time to see if they can do it. besides most people would want to just get a serialized lower anyway if they ever want to pass it down or trade or sell it. cannot do those with a modern firearm you built unless it has been serialized and went through the form 1 process. it is why I tell anybody if they wonder if they should just pay 20-40 bucks more for a complete lower then a 80%. usually they just go for the complete to save themselves the hassle and cost of doing everything to make an 80% transferable or sellable.
There's this HUGE scam where apparently some organization is charging $200 to put a stock on some weapons and another $200 to buy an item that saves your hearing. HUGE scam if you ask me.
The best one is when you buy land and pay another portion right then to this organization. Then every year after you still pay another portion for as long as you own that land that you already paid for. Every year… Forever.
The point of making it a requirement to buy them at separate places today is so that process can be claimed as a loophole tomorrow. It’s much easier to have the law adjusted for a loophole than outright removing people’s freedoms even though the end result is the same.

I have been shopping for for a lever gun, Winchester 1886, Ruger No1, Henry and others. I found that due to the fact none are available, the scam sight are everywhere. After going through 2-3 hundred sites that advertised availability most were lying and many were scammers. I did find 1 Henry Color Case Hardened Lever Action Side Gate in 45-70 and jumped on it. Sorry everyone, I think it was the last one on the planet.

I still can't find that. Only thing I see is that FFLs who come into possession of a "ghost gun" must serialize the firearm. I see nothing about private citizens having to serialize them. This is the first time I'm ever hearing of it and I've done a bunch of research.

As far as I am aware, there is no requirement whatsoever that a private individual completing a P80 frame needs to serialize it. It is still just a home-built firearm. It is only FFL's which will need to serialize them if they carry both the frames and the kits for drilling them out.

LEGAL UPDATE On 11/03/22 an injunction against the ATF was granted to 80 Percent Arms and its customers preventing the ATF from enforcing its ban from selling lowers with jigs. The judge found that the ATF overstepped its legal authority and that the new ATF Rule 2021R-05F is likely illegal. This injunction allows us to once again do business as usual
Why TF would I want to build a gun if it's got to be serialized? I can go to a gun shop and buy one with a background check cheaper than building it. I mean, drilling and machining an 80% take a bit of time, unless you have a CNC or manual milling machine, and my time is worth a lot. All they're doing is making it harder for law abiding citizens to enjoy crafting their own weapons. Hell, I can go to any town in America and buy gun off the street, and if the MF government keeps on, it will turn all law abiding citizens into outlaws. Remember, making a good man turn to doing bad things will make him deaf to the screams of mercy from the people that made him do those bad things. Great video, very informative.

There's a lot of scams fire ammo around. Before you buy ammo online check to see if they only take payments via PayPal or apps like Venmo or Cash app. The price is also half what the general going rate is. One I've seen on a few sites is M1 specific 30-06 for like 0.50/rd

A few weeks ago someone attempted to do the give away scam on me. They went through the exact steps that you detailed. My prize was a handgun. I told them that I do not have a permit for a handgun and their response was " oh that's not a big deal." They then wanted to know my nearest ffl then wanted to charge me anywhere from 175. To 275. For shipping. Now my big two red flags off the bat were that whoever it was didn't care about my legal status as a firearm owner. The other was that they didn't do any kind of age verification. For all they knew I could have been a 10 year old kid. Everything just ended with me tel!ing them to put that prize aside for someone else.
If any credit issuing company wants to JUMP to the top and take away business from Visa and Mastercard, all they'd have to do is to openly, publicly denounce what those two credit card companies (and AMEX) are doing, and say that they WON'T be doing it. They'll have ALL of the gun community's business!

I've not made any purchases on credit cards for things like this since I got into the 2A community (back in obummer days) because i figured they would push for this back then. Scammers gonna scam. Drives me nuts, but there must be folks falling for these scams, otherwise they wouldn't keep doing them. The worst is the ammo/gun shop scammers over on IG. Making fake accounts/websites that look legit, but want Zelle/cashapp/bitcoin for payments. I've know a handful of folk who've fallen for those scams. Put out a video a while back about these. With your focus on AR-15s this year I was hoping maybe you might take a look at 3rd Gen Tactical. Not sure if you’ve heard of it, but I recently acquired one after testing it out at an event this past summer and I am very happy with it! They’re a small company but the feel of their products is really great!
I've not heard the serialization portion before. I know if an FFL takes an 80 into their inventory it has to then be serialized. I think even Armed Scholar & Reno May have even covered this. Just looking for some clarification.
I believe only if you take it to a FFL they have to serialize it or if you live in a commi state yeah you 💯 will have to serialize them. Other than that just keep on building ordering frames & jigs from different locations is how I understand it.

I've been noticing the card thing happening with both the vaping and drone industry, they get around it fairly easy. They just sell you a gift card that you then use to make your purchase. I believe the idea is if they make it hard for manufactures and retailer to make and sell goods then we as people can't get them.

I think if everyone used the same serial number like AFT143, it would be pretty funny. Every manufacturer has gun 000001, so there are redundant serial numbers out there.
There are several firearm sites that are spoofs (exact copies) of legitimate sites. Never pay via Zelle or Bitcoin to a firearm site. Even Venmo, which claims to have customer protection, won't cover firearms or accessories. So you have no recourse.
There is NO Federal requirement (i.e. by BATFE rule or Congressional Act) for a non-FFL person making their own firearm for their own use to serialize a Personally Made Firearm. None. Zero Nada. Zip. Zilch. A private person without an FFL can make as many of their own firearms as they want to their heart's content, and not put a serial number on any of them to satisfy any Federal Rule or Law. Laws vary by state. Mine doesn't require any PMF to be serialized. Currently, any gunsmith or FFL dealer that takes in a PMF without serial number and keeps it overnight, thereby having to enter it in on their books, will have to serialize it, and that log book is subject to ATF inspection. There is NO requirement under those circumstances to require the customer to fill out a 4473 and suffer a background check before receiving their firearm back -- just as one would not do a 4473 when picking up their own commercially made firearm that had work done on it. If, however, it does not remain overnight, there is no requirement to serialize it or report it to ATF. It's simply returned to the owner/customer. Running around in a Chicken Little panic with hair on fire about having to serialize all of one's PMFs by the time the rule went into effect is unnecessary.

To be clear, if you're P80 is left at an FFL overnight it has to be placed into inventory. So when you pick up you're P80 you will need to fill out a 4473 to get it back. FFL are the only ones who need to serialize P80 if it come into their inventory.
@@cheddarballs864 unfortunately it's 100% true. If you have a homemade firearm and it has to go for an overnight stay at an FFL for work they are required by law to serialize it and log it into their A&D book.

If you search the keyword "Give Away" you will find one of those "You have already won!!!" type of scams in every single comment section. I actually know someone who was stupid enough to wire someone money out of the country. the sn engraving is for ffl's . if you take your 80 build in for work and it is in and out the door in a day no engraving is needed . but if it satays overnight it will have to be engraved by the ffl with their numbers and a nics check will be done before you can get your gun back . you do not have to mark your 80 yet , but i am sure they will change that in a couple of yrs !
Hello, wanted to say I’m a big fan and follow your blog for my builds. I live in ca and when I serialized my lower the process was very quick. I do have a ca real id however so I believe it was fast. I received the serial and instructions in about 3 days from the DOJ website. For my stamping, I manually engraved the number (I’m a fabricator and welder so I have good tools). Once I sent in the photos of just the lower they told me I was completed.
I think the serialization only applies to FFLs if they have one in their inventory, privately made firearms (PMF) do not have to be serialized. That’s from the “Washington Gun Law” channel. I had to play it twice because I missed it the first time. I do believe the judge on the case approved some sort of injunction from the 4 law suits which is indicative to the whole ban being overturned. The ATF doesn’t have the authority to make laws. Edit: also I have several and your content has been very helpful.

As far as I am aware, there is no requirement whatsoever that a private individual completing a P80 frame needs to serialize it. It is still just a home-built firearm. It is only FFL's which will need to serialize them if they carry both the frames and the kits for drilling them out.

Man, everytime I post a comment on a YT video I get a scammy reply saying I won something. It annoys the heck out of me to the point where I think twice about commenting now and I feel bad for the people who think they legit won some sweet giveaway. I can only imagine how irritating it must be for the video creators.

On 11/03/22 an injunction against the ATF was granted to 80 Percent Arms and its customers preventing the ATF from enforcing its ban from selling lowers with jigs. The judge found that the ATF overstepped its legal authority and that the new ATF Rule 2021R-05F is likely illegal. This injunction allows us to once again do business as usual

Why TF would I want to build a gun if it's got to be serialized? I can go to a gun shop and buy one with a background check cheaper than building it. I mean, drilling and machining an 80% take a bit of time, unless you have a CNC or manual milling machine, and my time is worth a lot. All they're doing is making it harder for law abiding citizens to enjoy crafting their own weapons. Hell, I can go to any town in America and buy gun off the street, and if the MF government keeps on, it will turn all law abiding citizens into outlaws. Remember, making a good man turn to doing bad things will make him deaf to the screams of mercy from the people that made him do those bad things. Great video, very informative.

There's a lot of scams fire ammo around. Before you buy ammo online check to see if they only take payments via PayPal or apps like Venmo or Cash app. The price is also half what the general going rate is. One I've seen on a few sites is M1 specific 30-06 for like 0.50/rd
Some gun lawyers are saying completed receivers and frames do NOT need to be serialized at all. Conflicting info out there

I’m glad you actually spoke on this issue because I had the same issue and they almost got me on another person’s channel and I actually told a lot of people that have is going on their channel this is going on but they don’t seem to care so that really shows you who to follow and who not to
My favorite part is how in under 15 seconds TH-cam can instantly delete are heavily altered unoffensive unthreatening word but can’t sort out legitimate personal information cash scams that are far more easy to spot

A few weeks ago someone attempted to do the give away scam on me. They went through the exact steps that you detailed. My prize was a handgun. I told them that I do not have a permit for a handgun and their response was " oh that's not a big deal." They then wanted to know my nearest ffl then wanted to charge me anywhere from 175. To 275. For shipping. Now my big two red flags off the bat were that whoever it was didn't care about my legal status as a firearm owner. The other was that they didn't do any kind of age verification. For all they knew I could have been a 10 year old kid. Everything just ended with me tel!ing them to put that prize aside for someone else.
There's this huge scam where a large group steals money directly from your paycheck! They gave it a cute pet name like "taxes" or something stupid
I hope the Visa / Mastercard issue gets challenged/ a lawsuit against it as they are creating a registry of who's buying what and from where.
If any credit issuing company wants to JUMP to the top and take away business from Visa and Mastercard, all they'd have to do is to openly, publicly denounce what those two credit card companies (and AMEX) are doing, and say that they WON'T be doing it. They'll have ALL of the gun community's business!

I've not made any purchases on credit cards for things like this since I got into the 2A community (back in obummer days) because i figured they would push for this back then. Now it's here and it's scary what they are going to do with this info the credit companies are collecting.

I CANNOT UNDERSTAND why the 2A community, Constitutional Conservatives, and basic Conservatives with money refuse to build a TH-cam competitor. There are MORE THAN ENOUGH rich people on our side that could get together and do it.

Scammers gonna scam. Drives me nuts, but there must be folks falling for these scams, otherwise they wouldn't keep doing them. The worst is the ammo/gun shop scammers over on IG. Making fake accounts/websites that look legit, but want Zelle/cashapp/bitcoin for payments. I've know a handful of folk who've fallen for those scams. Put out a video a while back about these.

To my understanding you only have to serialize a frame if you intend to sell it. At least in the state where I'm at

With your focus on AR-15s this year I was hoping maybe you might take a look at 3rd Gen Tactical. Not sure if you’ve heard of it, but I recently acquired one after testing it out at an event this past summer and I am very happy with it! They’re a small company but the feel of their products is really great!
I've not heard the serialization portion before. I know if an FFL takes an 80 into their inventory it has to then be serialized. I think even Armed Scholar & Reno May have even covered this. Just looking for some clarification.
I believe only if you take it to a FFL they have to serialize it or if you live in a commi state yeah you 💯 will have to serialize them. Other than that just keep on building ordering frames & jigs from different locations is how I understand it.
If they work on your unserialized firearm while you wait they don’t have to do that, it maybe also same day drop off/ pickup works same way.
The frames only need to be serialized if the frame is left overnite with an FFL!
The serialization rule is for FFL and inventory after the law past August 24th 2022 have to be serialized not PMF (privately manufactured firearms) don't have to serialize

2. There’s no fed law that says you can’t carry a legally obtained and made unserialized gun. States may vary.

I've been noticing the card thing happening with both the vaping and drone industry, they get around it fairly easy. They just sell you a gift card that you then use to make your purchase. I believe the idea is if they make it hard for manufactures and retailer to make and sell goods then we as people can't get them.
i dont believe that there is any requirement to have any of your previous PMFs (personally made firearms) serialized. this only comes into play if its required by your state, or if you check it into an FFL.

I think if everyone used the same serial number like AFT143, it would be pretty funny. Every manufacturer has gun 000001, so there are redundant serial numbers out there.
There are several firearm sites that are spoofs (exact copies) of legitimate sites.
Never pay via Zelle or Bitcoin to a firearm site. Even Venmo, which claims to have customer protection, won't cover firearms or accessories. So you have no recourse.

There is NO Federal requirement (i.e. by BATFE rule or Congressional Act) for a non-FFL person making their own firearm for their own use to serialize a Personally Made Firearm. None. Zero Nada. Zip. Zilch. A private person without an FFL can make as many of their own firearms as they want to their heart's content, and not put a serial number on any of them to satisfy any Federal Rule or Law. Laws vary by state. Mine doesn't require any PMF to be serialized. Currently, any gunsmith or FFL dealer that takes in a PMF without serial number and keeps it overnight, thereby having to enter it in on their books, will have to serialize it, and that log book is subject to ATF inspection. There is NO requirement under those circumstances to require the customer to fill out a 4473 and suffer a background check before receiving their firearm back -- just as one would not do a 4473 when picking up their own commercially made firearm that had work done on it. If, however, it does not remain overnight, there is no requirement to serialize it or report it to ATF. It's simply returned to the owner/customer. Running around in a Chicken Little panic with hair on fire about having to serialize all of one's PMFs by the time the rule went into effect is unnecessary.

You only have to have a completed on serialized if it’s taken to a gun shop to be worked on and the have it overnight.

To be clear, if you're P80 is left at an FFL overnight it has to be placed into inventory. So when you pick up you're P80 you will need to fill out a 4473 to get it back. FFL are the only ones who need to serialize P80 if it come into their inventory.

Truth. FFL rules changed in 2022. Gunsmith and pawnshops also need to conduct 4473 in order for customer to retrieve firearms
@@cheddarballs864 unfortunately it's 100% true. If you have a homemade firearm and it has to go for an overnight stay at an FFL for work they are required by law to serialize it and log it into their A&D book.

If you search the keyword "Give Away" you will find one of those "You have already won!!!" type of scams in every single comment section. I actually know someone who was stupid enough to wire someone money out of the country. He kind of deserved it at that point but I still HATE scammers more than anyone, except maybe pedos and politicians.

the sn engraving is for ffl's . if you take your 80 build in for work and it is in and out the door in a day no engraving is needed . but if it satays overnight it will have to be engraved by the ffl with their numbers and a nics check will be done before you can get your gun back . you do not have to mark your 80 yet , but i am sure they will change that in a couple of yrs !

Hello, wanted to say I’m a big fan and follow your blog for my builds. I live in ca and when I serialized my lower the process was very quick. I do have a ca real id however so I believe it was fast. I received the serial and instructions in about 3 days from the DOJ website. For my stamping, I manually engraved the number (I’m a fabricator and welder so I have good tools). Once I sent in the photos of just the lower they told me I was completed.
Definitely bots because it happens on 80% of the channels I follow. It kinda sucks because it’s an honor to get a reply from the actual creator
I think the serialization only applies to FFLs if they have one in their inventory, privately made firearms (PMF) do not have to be serialized. That’s from the “Washington Gun Law” channel. I had to play it twice because I missed it the first time. I do believe the judge on the case approved some sort of injunction from the 4 law suits which is indicative to the whole ban being overturned. The ATF doesn’t have the authority to make laws.
