At least Taehyung is speaking and singing English which I think is a great treat for all English speakers. I can't speak Korean nor would I attempt it because I would butcher the language. He has the courage to do it. As for their military careers, there's no easy career or job. Any military chef( I refuse to call them cooks) knows what they do. I have seen them in action. Try cooking for hundreds of soldiers. Yes it's not a picnic. Or a military banquet. Kudos to the military chefs! America is not boycotting anything. Fyi we have a political mess we're dealing with atm lol

....and it's Taehyung's third language.... he speaks Japanese like most of the members. So, for a third language - he's doing great. I love the song, but I loved all of them in Korean (even though I have to wait for subtitles on everything)

I saw some former Korean Military guys comment on how much they respect JK for doing the Army Chef route because it's insanely strenuous and the hours are longer and you have to wake-up crazy early. They also said that what makes them respect him more is that as a famous idol, he could've done any other job suited for idols but chose to cook instead.

    You nailed!
Let them do their time as peacefully as possible. The best we can hope for is for them to find some joy in their militar time. So happy that they’re able to find activities that appeal to them and that will make their time enjoyable and pass faster.
V’s accent is the most adorable thing ever. If there is a version without it, I would still choose to listen to the one with the accent. I just adore it. Let’s all focus on our time as people and as Army, support them, stream their work as much as possible in our private life and not stress about crazy people and things that are out of our control, like wars and military decisions…. 😬💜

Hard to see so many ARMY still get affected by these things on social media. We should be very proud and confident about our boys. The people spreading negativity don't even really matter do they? Why do their opinions matter so much to ARMY? Nobody can really insult you if you know what the truth is. If they start to do it and you don't react it actually says to them...your opinion doesn't really matter to me. You can think what you like. It doesn't affect me either way. It's how I always deal with people laughing at me because I love BTS. They later on change their minds and want to know more because they realize I'm not being silly about it.

honestly its a very small section thats very loud that pushes these agendas and it has not affected BTS anyway because these people were never the ones that were truly supporting them in the first place anyway and seeing how its not affecting anything hurts their ego more. Best is to simply ignore.
Targeting POC artists on the other end of the world who have nothing to do with any of these serious issues just because of somebody in their agency who is not even directly working for their label bighit just to feel morally superior shows how some people really need to go out and see the real world not to mention that they are literally serving their military.
if your activism starts and ends with a musical artist then its high time you reevaluate your self.

When I first saw this video it was on TV and I couldn't make a comment. I try to ignore the political issues that seem to be infecting the young fandom. I like the way you deal with that issue. I was very relieved and happy that Jungkook is a cook now instead of out in the field with a firearm. He likes to cook and even though it's a hard job I want to believe that he's doing OK in that position, working on a plan to take over the management of food service on the base. I was impressed that the first thing he mentioned in his letter to ARMY on Weverse was that he is "exercising hard", putting his priorities in order. As for V's pronunciation, whenever someone mentions that issue to me,, I just ask "and how many languages do you speak?" I have been watching a lot of your videos lately and I'm glad you are willing and able to be a voice of reason in this troubling time. Thank you... btw, I've recently joined your Patreon channel. 🕊😇 💚🌹💜

Thank you so much for reminding people about the status of the war between North and South Korea. I think many people don't understand what it is like and think "oh, that ended a long time ago," when it most definitely has not. I think it's hard for people in countries where no foreign country has invaded or threatened invasion. For Americans, imagine if the Civil War had ended in a barely maintained cease fire, instead of reunification. Imagine that your neighboring states were not only closed to you, but continued to be a threat and only refrained from continuing the war because they lacked support from other countries. It's a strange situation that, while it may not affect everyone's day to day life, it certainly affects the country as a whole and in the back of a citizens mind is the knowledge that a maniacal dictator just across their border could initiate hostilities again at any moment. So the fact that these seven men are serving their country under such conditions deserves our utmost respect.

It's probably kinda like living during the Cold War. I grew up during that time, and it was just something we had to live with, the fact that at any moment, one side might decide to launch, the other would retaliate, and we'd all be obliterated. In fact, my friends and I discussed it on our way home from elementary school: we reasoned that as we lived so close to a very major city, we'd be among the first targeted, and we would probably go up in the initial blast. There wouldn't be any post-apocalypse for us. And we concluded that was probably a good thing. In the meantime, we just went on with our lives, because there's no sense worrying until something actually happens. And yet, you kinda worry anyway. You don't actually think, 'Yeah, see you next week as long as we're both still around then', but there's an awareness and a kind of underlying tentative feeling that 'this could change, badly'.

@@ruthfischer7615 Yeah, NK's been pretty bold with their threats and their testing lately. The Kim dictators have pulled harassing/terrorizing moves before, but things do feel more serious now.
I think Jong Un is seeing the stress between China and SK as an opportunity. I think he wants to pull off his own personal Crimea...or Ukraine... and not let Russia get all the territorial-invasion credit, so to speak. Stupid of him, though. China really wants financial advantages from SK, and they are very unlikely to allow Jong Un to take control. And the West will not be pleased, either. The US has a mutual defense treaty with the South...

I really appreciate your thoughts and input in this video. My opinion on the protests is that those responsible are actually trying to use BTS members popularity to draw attention to their cause, the so called boycott is of no significant impact looking at how BTS and the members solo work have been charting even in their absences. In regards to JK's choice of military job, many tend to be tunnel vision and only see things in the form of a competition which serving in the military is far from it. From experience working in the kitchen as a soldier is one of the most difficult jobs and is highly regarded, these are the soldiers that keep us fed with very nutritious meals three times per day...a very important task if you're to maintain able bodies that can meet the demands of military. All jobs are important and necessary to have a military command that can rise in victory when necessary. I hope true fans take heed and respect the members choice in service and allow them to peacefully complete their requirement healthly. 💜

      @ystrw 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

@@taetertoddy1230Well, English does have accents; UK English and American English both have very different pronunciation depending on the speaker's region. People in Texas sound different from people in Maine, who sound different from people in Dakota, who don't sound much like people in California. Their versions of Satoori, basically. Similarly, people in London sound *extremely* different from people in Glasgow- so different, it can be hard to tell that they're speaking the same language. Also, UK English assigns different meaning to some words than US English does, enough to lead to a bit of confusion between tourists.

Any English speaker who has tried to learning Korean knows how different and challenging it can be, so just imagine it from his point of view of trying to learn English and sing it as well! I like your "down to earth" advice for people who have to deal with BTS Antis sometimes. Also, to show that the boycotting is not working against BTS. I love that JK is a cook because he obviously enjoys cooking, and we are all aware of Jimin's high levels of maths and physics, which are required for FDC. Also split second decision making and level headedness. Two reasons that RM said Jimin knew him the best as he often needed Jimin's skills when he himself was faltering.
V had a problem just learning Seoul Korean (he spoke sartoori from his hometown), but he is fluent in Japanese. His English pronunciation is not a problem for most who think it's cute.

As a young teen, I was bullied and given a name because I had very long, thin legs. The boys would bully me every day about this, and my mom told me one day just to start Accepting that name that they gave me. The next day when I was called that name, I accepted it, responded to it, and was never called that name again. So many younger armies needed to hear that! It is absolutely true, I have lived through the very thing That you spoke about. They are wanting to give you a hard time to get a reaction out of you. When people are talking bad about you, insulting you or anybody else they primarily aim to hurt so it speaks volume about how THEY suffer from insecurities. It's ok to give an opinion, to even disagree but when they use it to deliberately hurt or damaged someone, it's only to boost their own fragile ego using, like in the present case, their preferred idols. They'll boast about anything to alleviate their pain, could be their country, their school, their sports team, the things they own, it's limitless. Let's wish them Peace 🕊

First, I didn't notice V's "poor pronunciation", but I 100% agree with you...."So What"! I think whoever these individuals or groups are that are boycotting and making such critical remarks a) aren't true fans and probably never were, and b) have too much time on their hands. I also agree with you that this war between S. Korea and N. Korea is a serious matter and the "fans" need to stop all this nonsense. Let BTS members serve their time in the military in peace and come back to us Safely! My fear is that the military will change them a lot, as military anywhere has a tendency to do. You know, I just bought a ticket yesterday to Suga's D-Day in theaters. I was the only seat bought for either of the shows (so far). For sure, I was really disappointed that more ARMY aren't going to be there. Now, I'm not in a big city or anything, but still that hurt. Anyway, enough said. No different that me/us who are not native to the Korean language trying to pronounce some Korean words. The brain and the tongue are not used to it. Why can't HYBE have freedom of choice in who they support? Everyone wants freedom of choice and yet HYBE is not allowed? I does not only apply to some. It is no ones business how BTS serve in their own country. It is BTS' and the military's business ONLY. People need to stay in their own lane. Why focus on being jealous of someone else's career and life and not your own. In the words of RM, "Live your life, man". lol. Some people in this world just have no logic.

      Are you on weverse?
Because that can help with reporting.
I hated when Antis/insecure fans spammed Le Sserafim's account - the fandom is still too small and young to be effective - because on member got photographed with a Starbuck's cup at a concert from another artist or when in a BTS vid people pointed out the Starbuck's cups everywhere.
They talk about "eduucating" Idols and that those Idol should "apologize"... to whom?
BTS weverse on the other hand... as soon as you post your comment will be burried a few 100s deep.
But other than X and weverse I have seen some comments on tumblr and a slew of nonsense articles that are very angry on Koreaboo.
The funniest thing is that despite the super high toxicty I have seen no articles to any of it on allkpop - which tells me something interesting.

The comments over Jungkook being a cook are part of an ongoing attempt to paint him as "less able" than the others, so not worthy of that Golden title. The boycott is part of this same scheme. The war began in October, but the boycott demands started after Jungkook's successful US debut. This wasn't a coincidence. Dirty tricksters know Jungkook is the most maligned member of this group and the most divisive among BTS fans. Taking aim at him, Scooter and Hybe, guaranteed that fans who dislike JK would join the boycott and not be easily dissuaded from using this tactic. Given a green light to attack their least favored member, things became increasingly ugly. If Army, and others, keep believing this is an outside the fandom matter, the malice will continue. Fans of one member will malign another member and his fans, with each party feeling justified in their actions. An untold number of people have left the Army fandom. Expect that number to grow. Most Army call you names if you question their actions, but never listen to the warnings people try to give. In the West, this behavior occurs regularly among popular groups. Fan culture very often leads to the group’s demise. Fans aren’t the only reason, but when fans no longer see themselves as part of “the team,” there’s no incentive to support the group at large. The members will continue to be targets of biased fans and external forces, since there’s an unwillingness to set parameters on the behaviors of those who call themselves Army. BTS hoped to be one of the few groups to “stay together forever.” I sincerely wish them luck with that goal.

Even though they are currently serving in the military they made sure to prepare for their absence by giving us amazing music and content! That being said....V's accent is adorable, and I love to just listen to his voice...its so smooth and calming...... and JK could care less what people think about him cooking....He is going to do what he wants and people should realize that by now.....Jimin's stage presence is cute and sweet, but has an inner strength that people fail to realize ......People are evidently so bored and have nothing better to do with their lives than find fault with others and start ridiculous protests just to draw attention to themselves. The boys need to be left alone. Internacional army CANNOT control what goes on in Korea, simple, or a company for that matter. We army ARE FANS, we do not get to tell a CEO who to employ or fire or what to do in their company.
People/army need to understand that we began this journey with BTS because of their music, nothing else. So we don’t get to tell BTS/Hybe what to do or how they should react to world issues. Period.

First off, don't generalize us. Most of us do understand but others are just people frustrated about their own life. And there are still those who are too emotional attached to them and BTS going to the military is like pulling the rug from their feet. I know it comes off as toxic at times, but it's not their fault. If they knew how to control the feeling, they would. I understand your side but I also understand theirs. You shouldn't be so judgemental of international Army. Be open to both sides even if you don't agree with things. Everything has multiple sides. It's only one year. While to some of us is not then of the world, to others that’s what feels like. I was upset at first but we Portuguese have a saying: “Accept it, it hurts less”. So I Accept the the truth. I’m ok with it. Just focusing on my own things while I’m waiting for them.

I think it is - at least sometimes - a scam.
Sidle up next to insecure solos/young insecure fans and tell them X is misstreated/Y is damaging X chance/reputation and you have to do something about it. Suggest a truck than you know how to hire - collect money - set a goal higher than needed and you can do it again.
I found that time where the trucks vaguly refered to treat a member better without saying which one highly entertaining:
Did the hirerer goad multiple solo groups into paying?
As far as I can tell the trucks actually archieve nothing.
      You are absolutly right:
Donating the money to organizations like "Doctors without Borders" or the OneInAnArmy Donation drive for "Palestine" is far more helpful.
Trying to change the "Bord of Directors" of an International company because you do not "like" them is ridiculous - it's not a popularity contest.

This nonsense about Taehyung's English pronunciation is a clear example of the saying, "repeat a lie enough, and people will start to believe it". There's nothing wrong with Taehyung's pronunciation. This is probably the fourth or fifth language I've heard him speak, and most of the criticism I see is coming from people who actually can't speak English properly, and I'm speaking as an American whose primary language is English and who has lived in many countries. Let's not give credence to people whose only motive seems to be to hate. Personally, I'm immensely proud of Taehyung; in fact, I'm proud of all seven BTS members. They deserve it.

They were just vibing with the song, the melody and harmonies which V showcased; they didn't even turn the subs on. They were actually so proud of V for using full English in the lyrics; they even expressed their heartfelt thanks to V for making the song in English because it made them easy to understand and feel the song. What I'm trying to share is that not all songs can be expressed well in Korean, and FRI(END)S is not an exception. With its simple lyrics, it is best be written and sung in English than in Korean. Also, I don't see any wrong with V's enunciation and pronunciation, they went well with his low tone and soft vibe. My mom has been tutoring a few Korean students... same students... for 2 years now and she really feels sad because some of them still struggle pronouncing some words because of the missing sounds both in Korean and English. Haters just don’t stop, do they. It’s rather ironic that they are so quick to criticize and pick on things that are so irrelevant nor important. If they turn all the hate and malice into being just normal and decent human beings they would accomplish so much more in life. There is nothing better than having peace and contentment in life but you can’t have those things if your purpose is to create chaos and drama. A momentary satisfaction can never compare to a lifetime of peace. I will always support and love BTS.

Thank you for maturely addressing the immaturity of some BTS fans. Most “sensational” headlines are blown out of proportion either by people seeking attention or by people too immature to think for themselves.

Will it ever end? V’s English pronunciation goes well with the smooth song. I understood every word. Small concern ppl would hate all English. I’m impressed.

In Malaysia we talk Manglish... Malaysian style of Englisjh n we are popular fr it... Singaporean talk Singlish.. Singapore kind of English... Becoz as long ad two parties understand each other, that's language.. You dnt need yo to be 100% perfect... Even English people dont talk good English..

Those that complain about V's English pronunciation are most likely monolingual. But for the rest of the world, most are at least bilingual. In V's case, I think his pronunciation is just fine. He doesn't need to sound like a native speaker.

People who complain about Korean artist's English in songs is xenophobic, whether they know it or not. Even English speaking artists don't always enunciate perfectly. In fact, I would say they rarely do. This is the most petty complaint in existence.

Actually jk's work is much more labour intensive than any of his band mates...there are more than 4 billion people that speak English..but there is only v that can make music that touches our souls and makes us happy ❤❤❤❤...I am just amused by the irony of their duties after enlistment no exception... Let me explain...the two scaredy babies of the team are instructors...the RM the brain is in marching band ...the most pampered baby bear cub is in a special unit ....and the adrenaline junkie is stuck in the kitchen... And the baby mochi is directing fire in artelery 😂😂😂😂😂 talk about mismatch...but that aside they are all making us so so proud to be an army...I just want them to come back happy healthy and safe ... BTW just saying but friends is fing addictive...i have been listening on loop but damn if it hasn't turned into a earbug😂😂😂 although its been happening for years but i think it has intensified with their solo releases....like letter from face ....standing next to you...golden slow dancing from layover ....lonely from indigo ... astronaut and people part 2 from d day and now friends...i am getting ready to get committed coz there are driving me crazy......BTS forever ❤❤❤❤

Frankly, I’m happy JK is in the kitchen and not out in the field. I just hope Jimin’s job keeps him out of harm’s way as well. As for all these various protests and boycotts, it’s just people making mountains out of molehills and should he ignored. I’m thinking Seoul should pass a city ordinance against these trucks citing them as nuisances.
