    Reloop and Algoriddim should work with Apple to make a standalone with stems. That would be absolutely insane and I’m sure they’d put other features in there to stay way ahead of the game.

    I think I remember watching Digital DJ Tips videos on the DENON prime 4+ and the RANE Four, don't both of those controllers have stems?. I'm always confused about why am I supposed to pay extra for Pioneer Alpha Theta gear to get less?

    • @NJX_ONe
      @NJX_ONe 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The Rane doesn't have stems and there the prime 4/plus doesn't have usable stems... It's all the software and your computer that has stems and you're just controlling your computer with the Rane... And this is meant for people who want to use USB's and get away from the laptop

      Alpha theta stems should be the best quality due to how expensive their gear is. Even though I realize it's the software that allows stem splitting/ isolation etc or better said record box dj software should have the best quality but obviously they are not up to par on the tech other software has.

    Im not fussed about stems, i'd prep them before a set and have them as samples, especially on a 4 deck unit. My question is: can you still connect a DJS-1000 to it with a return like i can on my XZ?

    The Prime 4+ still holds up well above the AZ. May I ask, in terms of features, how do you even try to compare them? There's no streaming, no stems, and nothing new apart from the 4 channels, which have been available on other controllers for years.

    The big question is, will it be a better option than the Opus Quad, the Opus even has 2 more screens… (which in my opinion should have the option to view the waveforms), pads like CDJ 3000!! it also has effectsPad, this one doesn’t seem to have… Its a hard pick, i like the Opus Quad color scheme but the XDJ-AZ form factor better, Opus is quite chunky… Woukd like to see a detail comparison ✌🏼

    I saw that the Groovebox features released on the Grv6 are available in Rekordbox for other devices. Sure you need the core plan but that’s pretty cool. The stems quality has also been upgraded but you do need more compute power if you activate this option.

    I play a lot of dancehall in my sets and quick mixing I would say is more important than effects, samples are needed for added effect, I do not see many channels discussing how to mix dance, reggae and afrobeats the dj scene is mainly dominated by house music and much of the general advice is how to mix house music and to a lesser extent hip hop also, whilst I do play house music it would be nice to see more diversity from dj channels regarding other genres

    Regarding the stems thing - if they can fit the technology to do it into a laptop, then they can fit it into a controller that's many times the size and costs three times as much.

    All these people complaining about it not having 'stems' - like they'd ever be able to do anything decent with them.
    Repeat, DECENT.
    As an aside you have a 𝟰 channel, 𝟰 deck system here - so I wouldn't even be complaining about the price either!

      We tend to agree there’s a big difference between Internet warrior and real DJs out there and while we love stems they are not something that you see DJs using regularly and screaming out for when they haven’t got them at least not yet

    • @Koxv2
      @Koxv2 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I don't agree. You can do a lot of creative stuff with stems and 4 channels, it's pretty useful for open format djs. Xdj az is missing much more than just stems. Lack of USB C input, no option to put your own SSD in, no aux in, USB C but for the laptop (and there is only one, harder to switch between djs), no DMX, I believe we still can't modify beatgrid on it and there's more stuff on the list...
      I'm not buying it, it simply isn't worth it's price. It's xdj xz with rx3 screen and 4 channels. I'm really surprised pioneer released such an outdated product.

    • @Fran-or3lt
      @Fran-or3lt 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The unit is designed to be standalone. Why would anyone complain about not being able to connect two laptops at the same time? There are many excellent controllers for that.
      Say again, this is designed as an all in one option with equivalent or better features than CDJ3000 and A9 mixer. It is not a laptop software controller.

And now that i bought a new controller i wanted to play with Rekordbox instead. I notice that the Grid on the majority of the track is of sync. I know how to manually move the grid. But this is super annoying! Never saw it with Serato. Is there a easier way to get the correct Grid on tracks without needing to to it one by one manually? And why is this so bad in Rekordbox. Also, will Min in Key software fix this problem? Thanks you for this show!

      @@digitaldjtips Interestingly, as this is often used as a marketing feature if it is upgraded, they do not disclose the type of processor, size of memory or any other technical specs. I can only assume this is because they have not made any improvements in this area (which would also explain why they are not adding the latest features like Stems). Given that the whole world appears to be moving to RISC based architectures (e.g. Qualcomm Snapdragon X, Apple M3) due to the high performance and low power requirements, you would think this type of chip would be the perfect choice.

    It’s annoying how they always put really underpowered cheap cpus in music hardware, low ram and pitiful storage. Sampler and synth makers are always doing this often along with cheap 90s screens when a few pounds extra would buy a nice one. They could do but they want more profit. They charge £1000s but skimp on components that cost only £s more. For £2800 I don’t why they couldn’t do it. Anyway the FLX 10 is superior if you want stems. We know it, but you still need the processor power to do it.

      @@digitaldjtips yes but it actually takes less than you think if you can preprocess, my friend mixes 4 decks with stems on a 2012 macbook. takes ~30 seconds to process a song but other than that it works just fine. these standalones are several times more powerful than that. that's why I always prefer a laptop, because relying on the manufacturer to upgrade/optimize software sucks, so you pretty much have to throw a few k every 2-3 years if you want the new software features
