I learnt about HAV the hard way. Bought a chain saw in first lockdown and spent about 4 hours straight cutting up a massive willow stump. Extremely numb and tingling fingers for about three days!

I was thinking “garbage dumping” but the look inside the barn made me think about “deceased person with a hoarding disorder”. Please be safe when entering/removing stuff. Even breathing protection might be needed.
I rented a machine called Hydro Brush Cutter by little wonder to clear the 1500sqm land we bought. It was overgrown with brambles and garbage. It would have taken days with a brush cutter.

The best gloves for rough gardening IMHO are welding gloves, cheap from a welding supply shop and impervious to brambles and the like. They also come a bit further up the arm.

I must admit that’s the most enjoyable and inspiring YT diy channel in the UK.
The mulching blade is too big for a 25cc machine. You want a smaller mulching blade, I know your machine is a titan but if you cross reference from the specifications of a 25cc stihl brush cutter you will be able to see the correct sized blade and source it.
You are quite right about havs levels, as you mention however the blade being oversized for the engine will not be helping.
This is true, I made the mistake of getting the Oregon blade for my 25cc machine, it nearly shook itself to bits.

My favourite type of job, clearing a jungle. 40+ years ago did similar on a piece of land and found a 50’s BSA Bantam in a shed on land we purchased to increase our garden. Great content.

Done such many times. Most fun and best exercise is using a heavy sickle or scythe with a hefty forked stick to push the stems tight and away from you in a small bunch. You'll know how to sharpen till it hums from 2 metres. The sharper it is, the safer it is. Keeps nettles away from you. Lopping shears and pruning saw deal with thicker stuff. I'm 67 and considerably fitter than most men my age but that fitness is partly due to doing this sort of thing by hand tools. By contrast, I use machinery to do woodwork and other construction.
This looks very similar, less densely packed but same size, to the shed at the end of the garden a close relative is looking to buy in London. A very handsome fox looked up lazily when I opened the door to that 'barn' and went out through a back hole near the roof. When relatives of our previous neighbour were clearing the garage and shed at bottom of the garden, that house and ours had mice and rats in the voids under our houses and, frequently, in the houses till we trapped them all.

I do enjoy your videos, thank you for your efforts. I was a self employed gardener for 7 years and feel your pain. 2 points if I may. Start the strimmer on the floor then mount it to the harness, bigger engine'd strimmers can be a bugger to pull start at that wierd angle you are in when it is mounted on the harness, unless it is already warm, but even then it can be a struggle. Protect your back! Buy a proper pruning saw, "SILKY" or similar, you can get ones that go on to poles too. Much more aggressive teeth and a curved blade make the job of cutting branches so much easier. I would also recommend WOLF GARTEN kit, don't let the red and yellow colouring put you off, it's top kit. The only item I have ever thought could have been a bit stronger was their edging iron. keep up the great content, please.
Stewart, I would hire in a small digger maybe 5 ton version. It would make short work clearing the area and loading a skip or two.

I wish I'd known about the brush-cutting blade you used. I had a mass of bramble to clear and that would have saved bagging time. The Screwfix welding gloves are great for handling brambles; long and resist penetration!
I've also used the Titan multi-tool for a while. If you find it won't start after a year or two, check the fuel lines inside the fuel tank. Mine had disintegrated; they weren't resistant to the fuel! Plus the hedge cutting arm no longer attaches so easily,. The tube on the main tool head must now be no longer straight since the spline is no longer central. It just may not be strong enough.

I sort of think that the only thing I'm really going to find is a large bill from the skip company!

With the petrol strimmer/ brush cutter I used to work for the council using the Stihl type with the big bull horns handles and they’re so much easier to control and use. You set the height of the harness so it pivots off that and takes all the strain.
Great vid though and can’t wait to finally get in there.
Having used the other Stihl tools, I'm sure their petrol tools are better than the cheap Titan stuff

Its a small world. Been doing the exact same thing today about an acre and has taken all day with two skips both full of scrap an unsalvageable workshop and me and my lad are cream cracked. Gonna put some proper drains and some foundations for a new upgraded worshop/store tomorrow and a fence on the weekend. Every sympathy sir but we now have access to the stream which was our goal and renders the final piece of our site back as a fully productive area. Great vid and as I said its bleeding hard graft.
Sounds very similar in lots of ways - you will know how I feel!
This is like a true treasure hunt! While I can see this is a huge amount of back breaking work this is just awesome content.

My father suffered from white finger. He developed it from working chainsaws while he worked for the Forestry Commission after he left school. As I recall he received compensation for it even though there was no such thing as PPE back then.
And most people still won't know what that is - thanks for sharing.
Good luck clearing that barn out, setting fire to it might be cheaper than the cost of skips and labour
You have done ever so well but with respect I think you need to hire a 22 ton digger for the day! Plus 3 or 4 8 yard skips!👍
When we bought our house the previous owners were very keen gardeners. Despite our own efforts including strimming with a top of the range Stihl, we found the landscape gardener using his tracked digger saved us a lot of time.

No the gas bottle is dangerous. That much rust on a pressure vessel, there’s no way I would put any pressure in it. Gas bottle explosions are available on TH-cam they make good videos.
@@davideyres955 it had gas in it as shown by Stuart in the video. The bottle is exchanged for a full one and the old one would be decommissioned by the gas retailer.

I’ve found using a cordless (Dewalt) reciprocating saw with Saxon blades is very effective at cutting back trees and shrubs, chews through the timber and it’s light enough and agile enough to get in between the branches.
You mentioned getting a skip for all the rubbish in one of the earlier videos, I’d suggest keeping all the metal to one side and taking it to a scrap metal merchant. The price of steel, copper and aluminum has gone up a lot recently and you’ll get a few £ for it
Can't wait for next episode. Will there be a body in there? Will there be a Picasso wrapped in rags? Will there be an old vintage farm tractor worth a mint? Will the water tank be full of gold Roman coins?

Well I doubt there will be a Picasso. All of his works are carefully catalogue and accounted for. The only possibility would be an unfinished study that was lost somewhere but I doubt it. Could be piles of trash or old furniture that no one wanted to hull off to the town dump.

Battery recip saw for those thicker branches Stuart. I found an 8” ‘green wood’ blade in either Lidl, or Aldi a couple of weeks ago. 6 inch limbs, no problem.

I have one of those titan 25cc machines and they do have a fair amount of vibration. More than other similar machines in my opinion.
Not a fail mate, you got to the barn and looked inside. To do that work and film as well takes time effort. Good advice about the safety gear.

Last time I lifted a bit of corrugated iron it had a 3 foot grass snake under it

You got to love this channel :) . I purchased the same tool a year so back but mine came from B&Q and was badged 'Macallister". I know where you are coming from. The vibration and noise is not pleasant and to cap it all mine won't even start now. Wish I had saved more and went for the Stihl. Looking forward to the great reveal.

Please people- bear in mind that hedgehogs may be sleeping or hibernating on ground level. Thousands of them come to a ghastly end because people don't know they are there 👍🏻
The way I used to tackle brambles etc was to use hedge cutters and a pitch fork.

Have you thought of using a cordless battery D-Handle Reciprocating Saw with wood pruing blade (sold seperately) which makes quick work of pruning to cut the tree branches
All this lot has to be shifted(brambles etc.). What about 1 man and his dozer for a day. Get it all shifted at once . Then a nice we bonfire as long as you are not in a smokeless zone.. Thanks for vid. Good stuff.😁

I have the same Titan kit. I am surprised that you haven't had to request the fuel / air mixture screwdriver to get it running properly. I would suggest that if the engine is bogging down on heavier cuts that could be the issue. Oh and that looks like a rhododendron
