this makes me so happy 🥹💓
You read such a mix this month! - I added 28 summers to my TBR ☺️
My favourite book this month was Some Kind of Perfect, I finished it yesterday and omg that is how you end a series, sobbing 🥹
omg ahhhh some kind of perfect 😭 so good!
Yes girllyyy. I read that series last year and loved it
Hey Rachel! 🤗
I didn't read a whole lot this month, but my favorite book is The Dalai Lama's Cat by David Michie 💕
This is a reread and part of a series. I completely recommend! There are 6 books overall, and I've only read two so far. But the vibes that I got from the two books are truly like receiving a warm and comforting hug 🥰💕
My fave book this month is To Kill A Kimgdom! ive never read a standalone fantasy, however this book has seemed so intriguing! So happy u reviewed it a while ago cause it pushed me to read this magical fairytale and it got my out of a horrible slump
garden city is sOOo good, as an artistic Christian it rly inspired me to not be ashamed of my creativity, you’ll love it 🫶😊
I loved saving 6 so much I'm now in the middle of redeeming 6 and it's amazing too
loveeee boys of tommen !!
@@RachelCatherine samee and can you make a reading video with redeeming 6 plz I wanna know your reactions and bc your my favorite book person to watch
I ADORED The Crimson Moth! I need to read that author’s back list.
I am so impressed by how many books you can read in a month!!
Congratulations on reading your tbr it’s like a goal you set for yourself
The crimson moth sounds/sounded so interesting in your vlog already. I guess I will check it out :) I also read the Prisoner`s Throne this month and liked it but it isn`t my new fave
Ok, some of my favorite sci-fi books are: The Murderbot series by Martha Wells (an antisocial and awkward security bot inadvertently takes care of the humans it is protecting; it is cozy and relatably funny and the series starts off with a bunch of novellas so they are quick reads) and anything by Becky Chambers (also cozy sci-fi, involving humans and other species navigating the intergalactic world).
That is the cutest sweater ever!!! 😍
right?! I'm obsessed!!
Rocky is one of my favorite characters of all time!!! ❤
Historical mysteries are my favorite subgenre. Recommendations to jump in: Deanna Raybourn's Veronica Speedwell series - first book is A Curious Beginning. And Sherry Thomas' Charlotte Holmes series - first book is A Study in Scarlet Women. I envy your first reads of these.
Was I gonna finish editing my own video? Maybe. Is Rachel a priority? Hell yes!
Hahahha ily 😂
so excited for this month wrap up and congrats on finishing your tbr 🎉❤
thanks bestie 🥹
Can we normalize not blaming ourselves when a book isn’t as good as we thought or hoped it would be? I may be the only one but I don’t go into books thinking they’re going be anything except 5 stars. I’m all for people that want to read out of their comfort zones. 100%. But other than that, I read what I enjoy. I just don’t think not getting what we were hoping for from a book is on us as the reader. But maybe that’s just my reading experience? We all have different experiences ones so maybe it is.
You gonna love Garden City by JMC! It's probably one of my all-time favorite books. Greetings from Austria
My favourite reads this month were books 2 & 3 of the A Tale of Stars and Shadow series. I’ve never heard anyone talk about this series (found book 1 in Audible’s plus catalogue so thought I’d give it a go) and it’s such a great series imo! I now just have the fourth (& I believe, final) book to go 😁
A good Sci-For beginners are Uglies series by Scott Westerfeld, Innkeeper Chronicles by Ilona Andrews, and A walker Saga by Jaymin Eve- all YA and very good series
One of my favorite series is Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead. It came out in 2007 but it’s a series I reread often just to go back into that world. It’s a YA fantasy romance.
I actually reading the heartless hunter (the crimson moth) and so far I like it I’m about 60% in the book. I’m glad you recommended this book. And plus it’s on kindle unlimited
I am a John Mark Comer Stan!! So so good, every time!!
Oh and the coolest thing is you can see how God is leading John Mark’s story to where he is now through his backlog. Like there’s hints all throughout leading to him leaving his pastor position to lead Practicing the Way (and then writing the book and of course his podcasts!!) 🤩
I will always recommend Illuminae for scifi, also the Saga graphic novels are fabulous but be prepared for some eye popping illustrations 👀
Adorable, congratulations sweetie on getting your tbh done. What a great accomplishment. I love your videos, they are my comfort zone❤ I did read your book club book, really loved it. And will probably do more going forward 🎉
I’ve been waiting for you to read 28 summers! If you’re looking for your next Elin Hilderbrand book the Hotel Nantucket was my second favorite behind 28 summers. Very atmospheric and characters well developed.
Kendra Donovan series is really good. It’s a historical mystery romance with an interesting follow through plot element
Can you please also share spice levels in romance books you read? Would love to know that too
you should try the expanse series if you're getting into sci fi!!!
I NEED to finally read an Elin Hilderbrand book!
you do !!
I would love to hear your opinion on Garden City because my church is doing a book club with it so it’d be cool to hear what you have to say about it.
Highly recommend reading Dark Matter (SciFi meets Mystery)
The Fever King by Victoria Lee and also Whisper by Lynette Noni are 2 of my fav sci-fi books!!
reading binding 13 and loving that which is also trauma dumping and not liking say you swear just confuses me :( they both trauma dumped hard lol
Have you read ‘The Nightinggale’? Apparently that is a great historical fiction!
So nice seeing someone review say u swear that I agree with! So what pad and so many eye roll moments the big reveal for the main character was so obvious it was so annoying 😂
Your explanation of 28 summers kind of reminds me of November 9 by CoHo 😅
You need to read the Maze Runner trilogy! It is YA Sci-fi, Dystopian and is soo good
If you would like to try another sci-fi I highly recommend Ready Player One. I recently listened to the audio book through the library and was hooked!! I’m still new to the genre too after loving the Renegades trilogy, but I ate it up!!
Let us know how you find you try it out ❤
Have you read anything from Belinda Mary? She is an Australian author who write closed door romance and they are all sooooooo cute. My favorite so far is Always, Amy. I think you’d enjoy her vibe. ❤
I’ve read a few of John Mark Comer’s books and Garden City is one of my favourites!! Can’t wait to hear your thoughts 💛
You keep on persuading me to add books to my tbr! 😂❤
I HIGHLY recommend the illuminae files! It's a ya Sci fi trilogy. It's so good!
Hello lovely 👋🏼 what reading order do you recommend for ACOTAR? I know you did the tandem reading… but what order would you recommend?
About to embark on this series for the first time ever! 🎉
There's a little short story sequel to 28 Summers called The Sixth Wedding - I haven't read it so I don't know if it adds to or subtracts from the reading experience, but it's out there if you're interested (only audio or ebook)
I’m reading off to the races by Elsie silver and really enjoying it on book 2 now
For the anatomy and SJTR recommandations, did you read Belladonna ? I think you’d like it !
Yyeeesssss!!! I LOVED Tempest of Tea!
Any advice for catholic/Christian readers who come across books that has spice ? I’m currently reading heartless from the chesnut springs series however I’m aware that it will eventually have spice scenes, any advice would be greatly appreciated 🫶🏼🫶🏼 !
I love that you included Christian non fiction, please continue to add them to these reading wrap ups
My favorite from may is The burning god! Butttt, also Just for the summer. Not the same vibe at all 😂
Funny how you was worried saving 6 would be repetitive when magnolia parks and daisy haites have same scenes in their books 🤣🤣
Rachel Jay Jays has such cute fairy graffic T-shirts at the moment. It would be awesome if you did a shopping video there and other stores influencers aren’t showing much anymore like dotti, sportsgirl, valley girl.
I loved Practicing the Way!!! You will love Garden City & Ruthless Elimination of Hurry!! You should read Hinds Feet on High Places by Hannah Hurnard - a super short Christian fiction allegory that is one of my absolute favorite books of all time! Thank you for taking about Jesus and Christian books on your channel :)
I love reading so much so I might read these
for more Scifi I really think you’d like anything by Becky Chambers. a lot of found family, self discovery, lovable characters, great diversity and wholesome vibes ❤🚀
Highly, highly recommend reading the ruthless elimination of hurry by John mark comer! Such an amazing book, really though provoking!
Great Sifi rec: Dark Matter by Blake crouch!
If you like Project Hail Mary then you will probably enjoy The Martian also by Andy Weir
Sci-Fi recommendation: Enders Game by Orson Scott Card
Great video Rachel!
just opened youtube and it said "45 seconds ago" that was insane
congrats
So early dayum
Bestie Rachel (:
wait anatomy remind me of jack the ripper series
love and support from Algeria 🥰
i felt the same about rachel price! i feel like the reveal of what happened wasn’t that shocking so the events that happened just after (with her dad and uncle iykyk) were sooo dramatic to make up for it
watching all your old videos and refreshed it and you posted ! yay
🥹🌷💗
Highly, highly recommend reading the ruthless elimination of hurry by John mark comer! Such an amazing book, really though provoking!
How you describe 28 summers is exactly how you will feel with her other books. Elin Hilderbrand's books are so realistic- they are definitely NOT the ideal romance but you feel like you're in their world, because the story and characters feel so real. I highly suggest hotel Nantucket which is a favorite of many ❤️
28 Summers really got me😭 exactly what you said, you feel like you’re walked through their whole life with them. I was so emotional
Since you liked Stalking Jack the Ripper and The Anatomy Duology you should read the Veronica Speedwell Mystery books by Deanna Raybourn. There are currently 9 out. The first one starts in 1887 and they sound like something you would like!
oh my gosh yes this is super high on my list!! I've been wanting to start this series forever!!
I second this!! Such a great series!
You are one of my favorites to watch even though we don’t read entirely the same. Just a pure joy on screen💗💗💗
wow thank you so much, you're so sweet 🥹💕
@@RachelCatherine of course! And as a fellow Christian it’s so encouraging to see the verses at the beginning of all your videos💗
Hi, I have a book rec for you 🤍 the first book in this trilogy is called The Dark days club, and it’s sooo good. Pure pleasure for me, so much fun. It’s set in the Victorian era in England, with secret socities, and the romance 💕💕(it is fantasy/romantasy in a historical setting qi would say) also I’m sorry if my english is a bit strange, I’m french :)
Your English is good!❤
this sounds amazing!! I'll definitely look into it!
@@laynagilbert4450 thank you 💕
Anatomy and Immortality sound exactly like the new show with Thomas Brodie Sangster, which was sooo good! I think it’s called The Artful Dodger! Would highly recommend.
Ah yes I loved House of Salt and Sorrows! I can't wait for you to read the second one! It's so good 😊
When you were describing 28 summers, it reminded me so much of the concept of November 9!!
So proud of you for completing your tbr (when you don’t too ofc but you know what I mean)🎉🎉
I can’t wait to pick up the crimson moth so excited for it, as always one of my fav wrap ups to watch bestie 💗
I’m reading Practicing the Way right now! Also The Ruthless Elimination of Hurry was phenomenal. It’s my most annotated book of all time!
Can you read the book KING OF GREED BY ANA HUANG ❤
Omg John Mark Comers books🤌🏼🤌🏼
Love your vlogs so so so much Rachel you are the best 💖💖💖
ily!!
Yesss Rachel!!! I have been waiting for you to read house of salt and sorrows! Erin Craig is my favorite author! You have to pick up small favors!! It’s soooo good
oooh okay I definitely will!!
Love that you have started recommending Christian books! I’ve been looking for more ❤
The Tempest Of Tea is up next on my TBR. I gave the same rating to The Reappearance Of Rachel Price. So glad you loved 28 Summers. I love her writing.❤
Congrats on that tbr!!! 🎉🎉🎉
ty bestie!!
I love John Mark Comer! Myself and a group of friends are going through the Practicing the Way study that goes along with that book and I've loved it so far ☺💕
Can u also put the spice rating of the books with the rating on the screen
Thank u so muchhh
Proud of u gurl for finishing ur tbr this month 🎉🎉
I love how you shared the Christian book recommendation!
I read Project Hail Mary too this month! I gave it 4 stars too.
If you liked Anatomy, you should read The Madman’s Daughter by Megan Shepherd!!! So good
highly, highly recommend Starflight and Starfall by Melissa Landers. it’s sci-fi but not like intense. Hear me out- space pirates! I LOVED these!!! I listened to the audiobooks and it was a fun romp. Enemies to lovers, the aforementioned pirates, a sugar glider baby, and lots of fun!
Just wanted to say that I love your videos. Thank you for creating these videos.❤️
as soon as you mentioned Bridgerton vibes I knew I'd be reading that book!!! speaking of Bridgerton - have you seen part 1 of season 3?? and did you like it??👀
Pleaaaaase read The Ruthless Elimination of Hurry by John Mark Comer, SO good! I just know you'll love it!
There's a sequel to 28 summers, its called The Sixth Wedding. its a novella 😊
Anatomy reminds me a lot about the tv show the artful Dodger!! If u liked the book, maybe check the show out🌸
you need to read "the ruthless elimination of hurry" by John mark comer. it is the best book I've read from him so far and one of my all time favourite books because of how life altering of a read it is.
Such a good reading month!!!
