Thanks for the comment. I am always happy to catch fish but I feel amazing that I had a keeper from the back of the boat and my boater caught shorts all day. Wished we would had a bigger or more fish to weigh in. Off to Maysville!
The creek was different this year compared to last year. Every fishery will be different from year to year. I wanted to catch more fish but that is why they say it's fishing and not catching. Thanks for commenting. I appreciate it.
The first creek you pulled in by the bridge is one of my favorite places outside of tanners itself. Short run but pretty productive. The dock on the right as you pull in is a guaranteed bite. Folks come down that hill and throw food in the water. Draws catfish and bluegill and the bluegill draw bass. I also fish the marina area but I know that’s off limits for the bfl tourneys
That always sucks whenever they place marinas off limits. We all know the shad spawn and bluegill are all in the marinas. We should be allowed to fish any water. Everywhere else is open so why not. Hopefully we can catch them out of Maysville this month. Thanks!
Question…as a BFL coangler how much money is appropriate for helping the boater with gas and such. I plan on doing the BFL in august on tanners so I’m looking for an amount to give my boater.
Thanks for commenting! I have created a video earlier in the Co-Angler series discussing this topic. The minimum amount I have paid as a co-angler was $40. The most so far I have paid was $80. A good starting point was $40. If you drive all over the place and catch fish, then you use your best judgement and go up from there. I catch my first fish and several others so I paid my boater $80. I usually pay the boater at the end of the day. Most boaters will refuse the money but I always pay something to them as they are out there usually before the tournament to locate fish. It is a small jester.
@@Jason_Emry_Fishing thank you…I knew this was an unspoken rule but was sort of expected. Given the changes in gas prices and such I wanted make sure I didn’t offer something that wasn’t appropriate.
You can give what you can afford. I believe all the boaters are grateful for anything that helps. The rule I use is start at $40 and build from there. That is better than nothing! Remember if you place in the money as a co-angler, you DON'T need to split your winnings with the boater.
Most boaters pay a payment for boat each month and to fill up with 93 gas is about two hundred dollars even. Not mention gas they burn in practice and hotel bills. You can give at least half since your asking them to help you catch fish and their entry is higher then yours as well
It definitely didn’t stop you man. You seemed to do great at fishing. I didn’t see it hindering you. I thought maybe you were asmatic or copd but now I know. Keep going man enjoy the time we all have left because we all can be out fishing today and we will never know that it could be our last fishing trip so….. Enjoy your time man.
I debated posting this cause I don't want you to take it the wrong way. Your pitching seems to lack confidence in accuracy. Don't be afraid to put that jig back deeper in the trees and into the tight spots. Also, jig seems kinda big for that area. Kietech makes a sweet tungsten jig that will allow you to still throw a 1/2 Oz but a more finesse profile. Also when pitching keep the bait close to the water as possible and give a slight lift right before it lands to minimize the splash. Also as a co I would utilize a wacky worm alot. Like I said man don't take that the wrong way but just being in a creek like that with no ripple and high pressure just something to think about next time.
I don't take things to heart. We have to all learn so any pointers would be great. I made this channel to teach and help others to get better at fishing. Although I'm 44 years old, I am far from an expert when it comes to fishing. I have only pitched a jig for a grand total of 5 days in my lifetime. I kept it in my hands almost the whole day during this tournament. I am getting better and greatly appreciate the advice. Normally I would have other things tied on (spinnerbait, Ned Rig, and other small baits). Again, hopefully others have learned from this and I am always open for suggestions. Thanks for commenting.
That sucks Brother! I was this way last year but I began to dummy down my tackle colors and presentations. I was able to catch one fish last year which started my thought process in downsizing the baits. Black & Blue is True on the River - per Sean Weida (owner for Weida's Marine). He fished the river all the time and I watched videos from others. This began my journey to smaller/finesse baits behind the boater. Please come out to Maysville and I will give you a couple of 3/8 ozs jigs I will make. This jig will be paired with a craw style trailer which they always eat there in the river. Contact me via Instagram Jason_Emry_Fishing and we will chat. Thank you!
Congrats on another trip across the stage! Thanks for the video!

Great content man. Keep it going!
Thanks Brother! I greatly appreciate you. Thank you for your service!
Nice job. That creek was good to me last August.

Quality video but the poor guy just can’t breathe.
I have been fighting that for years after my triple bypass. Just learning to get better. Thank you!
