Are there any advantages of doing this instead of D'arce? Honest question. Just wondering if it's more matter of preferences or is there actual reason to this one.

No reason whatsoever. Clearly preference as you stated.
In December I make my second stripe as a black belt. Within six years of training and teaching as a black belt. The past three years has changed my viewpoint drastically to say that you’re supposed to do this move from this position or you’re supposed to do this move this way , it’s completely in my opinion the wrong way to think. Everything is open to interpretation. There are so many moves and variables involved in our sport compared to others that you are destroying once confidence and ability to learn by limiting their imagination by telling them they can’t do this or they can’t do that, most of my classes are based upon built upon flows and chain sequences of defenses and attacks. It doesn’t really matter what type of game you like to play. If you don’t have options you’re going to be stuck when something doesn’t work I personally prefer the doors choke over any other choke. Doors are pretty much any head and arm variation. It’s just something that naturally clicks in my head when I teach it sounds like a broken record but I want to make sure that everybody understands that it is simply tools for you to use to put inside your toolbox so when the job presents itself, you have the right tool for the job.you need to go and watch my live stream videos where basically I talk about concepts and things like this. And matter-of-fact I’m sure I’ve done one already but the minute I’m done responding to you. I’m gonna start another one right now.
