great video, details details details, yes! The instructions that came with my stove were vague and minimal at least. This video answered many ???'s ...........
The video at 5:46 is wrong. The red color is off. By default it comes with the gas pressure regular on, green color. The broiler will not have blue flames if its red color. The burners on the top still work with it off.
I just purchased this. The support across the rear bottom is in the way of my gas pipe coming up through the floor, can the support be removed? It wont go back to the wall other wise.
I'm surprised that you guys are installing this range with no space between it and the cabinets/ counters. I just bought a house that comes with this range. After reading the reviews about how much it overheats, I'm scared to even turn it on. I don't want to risk ruining the new counters and cupboards. I'm seriously thinking of selling it and tying to buy a different one. Do you guys have any advice on what to do about it's insulation issues?
Good luck with this stove. My mother had this exact model, and thankfully, Menard's took it back. We had a certified technician test the surface temperature and it got to 140 degrees.* see note. He was on the phone with Whirlpool the entire time. Whirlpool said, sorry, it is within the surface limits set by ANSI. I went around and around with Whirlpool, but they would not authorize a return. *Note: I found out that the test was done incorrectly. Whirlpool instructed the technician to set the oven temp at 400 degrees, for 30 minutes before testing the temp. The correct test is oven at 475 degrees for one hour. We did our own test and it got to nearly 160 degrees. RIDICULES!!! TOO HOT! Shame on Whirlpool!!! This stove should be removed from inventory or fixed.
@@pattyh2410 Wow. That's crazy and so irresponsible on their part. I'm planning on using my place as a rental property in a few years. I'l probably replace the oven then. I don't want the liability and I would hate for someone's child or pet to burn themselves on it.
@@MissV015 The whole ordeal was a nightmare. My poor mother was so upset about the surface temperature. She loves to bake and was afraid to use the oven. She had new cabinets and laminate countertops put in, and the laminate company warned that high heat could cause the laminate to pull away from the countertop. Since Whirlpool refused to do anything, we pleaded with Menards to take the oven back. We showed them pictures of the temp reading and that the service technician test was not done correctly. The manager sent the request to corporate, and they agreed to take it back. So thankful!
@@pattyh2410 I'm glad it worked out for you guys. Unfortunately I have no idea where the sellers bought mine. I'm going to look into doing a consumer affairs complaint. It's something a lot of people are complaining about, so they can't write it off as a one time issue.

no, you shouldnt have to replace the adapter. the gas line, yes because it's flexible. If it's easy for you to replace the adapter, go ahead and do it.
I've Installed stoves myself , no problems , but when I rented out my house the tenants were scared to connect the new stove I'd bought, and as I was in another province working they called Irvin propane .$ 243 , that's right 243 dollars to turn off the gas connect a new gooseneck , soapy water to check leaks ? Maybe, but 243 dollars. 60 bucks was for the $15 goose neck. I phoned them up , they took off 90 dollars as even they had admit 243 was too much
gas ranges use very little electrical power, mostly just for the internal light in the oven. the circuity takes up minimal watts. a convection fan type will use the most but even then talking about 3 amps max. any extension cord can handle that easily. electric powered ranges are of course a totally different animal.
This is boarding on an almost fraudulent lack of detail. They do no show the workman pulling the stove out to allow access between the range and counter, necessary to connect flex line. It requires a long (?) flex line to make this possible and I wonder if a long (say, 48”) flex line will fit in the shallow space provided. I will know soon. My gas line now protrudes from the wall about 30” high preventing the range from fitting snug to wall. I need to reposition the line (no easy task) to no more than 3 “ from floor Hight. My elect outlet is also too high and I must lower that. Curses to those who developed these standards, only to make “forced air” available to no-spill burners. And my sympathies to those without basic skills as it will be costly to have these things done...if, you can find someone skilled and willing.
I was nervous😬watching this cuz I’m like if they make a mistake then BOOM💥I like electric so much better! There’s a gas range at my new place that no one bothered to hook up so it’s taken 3 months to find a qualified tech to come out cuz they were busy fixing AC units cuz of the hot temps🙄so I’m like on a waitlist for oven installation and don’t ask me why I didn’t confront the sellers upfront about this cuz they never bothered to say oh eh the range ain’t hooked up🙄idk where they even got this oven from and it needs a longer gas supply line or some shit like that and for time and labor it’s gonna run 500-600 dollars for install😠probably why the sellers never installed it in the first place cuz I honestly don’t think it came from HD or Lowes🤦🏻♀️feel like a fat clown right now just a big fat clown🤡a foolish fool

Did your stove come with 1 rack or 2? Mine only came with one and I don’t know if I need to go yell at Amana or not lol
What size are the adapters that I need for install (5:00)? Whats the name of the hose that I need to purchase, a gooseneck?

I'm not sure I can make it all the way through this video. I think it's narrated by a bot.
I could only make it for a couple sentences. Wow. that voice goes up and down so weird. I had to go to another video.
LOL!
Doesn't take much huh?
Good video. My GE oven was delivered without written instructions....
At 5:11, my gas shut off valve already has the adapter installed, do I need to replace the adapter when installing new gas ranges?

So you bought a new stove and expected your tenants to connect it up using gas? You got off easy, lucky they didn't burn your house down.
Well my roommates decided to use a extension cord for there stove. I told them them they shouldn't use it but its there house.
Definitely have them plug it into a wall outlet as soon as possible. Using an extension cord is a safety hazard to everyone in your building.
