2:30 "membership in a protected class"? WTF does that mean? Please list the various "protected classes" so we all know. Is a "protected class" everyone who isn't a straight white man? Are punishments more severe if one kills someone within a "protected class" of people?
Too late. The monster got away with it
I was a kid when this happened but never forgot about it. I'm glad they finally solved the case. RIP to both women.
This case has been on my mind for so many years!!
Such a captivating upload.
Protected class?
I believe the young women were LGBTQ. It may have been a hate crime, but no way to know.
I’m glad this case has finally been solved, but look at how much damage he was ALLOWED to inflict on women, probably even years before he brutalized these two women!! That’s the hate crime folks, he didn’t have to know they were in a relationship-he knew they were Women, he had hatred for women no matter the orientation.
I know technology has advanced but laws can be put in place to keep serial rapists/killers behind bars for at least 30 years!!!
No justice. He got away with it.
The judicial system has blood on their hands. The incompetent judges, and the inepted prosecutors, should be held accountable for allowing these dangerous beasts to shed innocent blood.
Who are in a protected class?
My question also. I thought that we were all "equal" under the law. No special privilege's to anyone. In theory that is.
@@aftonair Women are definitely in in a protected class; they said they couldn't prove that he committed the crime because of their status as protected -- learn to listen. They only people who aren't protected are Whites, men, conservatives, heterosexuals and Christians
@@maxwellcrazycat9204 Oh...when THAT "equal" law was 1st presented in OUR land....that didn't apply to anyone who didn't look like this usual suspect.
A protected class consists of groups of people who are frequently targeted with violence motivated by hatred for that group of people.
If the motive for the crime was hatred for gay people, for example, then that crime is a hate crime.
A hate crime is not a stand-alone charge. It's an enhancement that is tacked on to the crime committed.
For example rape, murder, assault, vandalism, or terroristic threats.
If the motivation for those crimes was hatred of gay people,
then it's a hate crime.

Maybe their families can have some peace of mind but still justices wasn’t served.
This monster should have never been let out of prison!
If we are all equal under the law why even have a protective class?
Seems kinda strange that they solved it after the scumbag that did it is dead and in he. Ll now
Too little, too late. Blah, blah, blah, but he is NOT alive.
