Hi Mate, I have ford C-Max Titanium 64 Reg 2014 Automatic Gearbox 2.0L Diesel. Drive great but Gear shifts jump or punch in changing speads anyway how much is it cost to change gear box oil and filter please? And where are you based please? Thanks
I’ve just done mine the other day , it was last done at 63k , now has 149k on so well overdue , the oil was spotless & really clear that came out ! Hopefully i get a few more years out of it ! Never had any issues in 7 years 🤷🏼♂️
Just bought a 2012 focus auto and the previous owner had the car since 2016 and i dont think serviced the gearbox since buying it, my oil was blacker than what came out of this one if thats possible. I thought the box was toast as it had shifting issues etc but the service cured it luckily
It may affect it so best to put two stand under rear side as well to level the car. However, if you ever jack the front of the car up for any other reason I suspect the rear chamber of the gearbox will get some oil poured out from the front chamber anyway.
So funny as I got asked by my son if I had any torx bit’s. I replied NO, and he went out ant spent a small fortune on these fancy bits. When he came to my house to do a quick job on his amazing Skoda Superb load with every extra on board, I noticed the new shiny bits, OH THOSE ALLEN KEY BIT’S ?? I did forget as I have an AUDI & plenty of tools. That’s it I remember now when I bought some two year’s ago. WHY DIDNT HE JUST SAY ALLEN KEYS WITH THE STAR SHAPE. It’s great getting old, as we have grand kids & that’s means we have all the fun & joy and can hand them back when we want. And as a threat to all the parents of the grand kids, mess us around and we will load the child up with Blue Smarties and a can of REDBULL, just as we drop them off. Shake them up and watch them go.
Thanks for the great video and your explanations! I was trying to find new drain plugs for the manual transmission but unfortunately, I couldn't. Do you happen to happen to know an after market manufacturer (& code) who makes them? Your help is highly appreciated :)
I m not an expert , but i heard/seen , yes u need to keep engine on when you open the control screw. becouse u will gonna lose 1/ 1.5 L for no reason. Pump must be on when u check that screw
Hi jimmy which automatic gearbox is easier and cheaper to fix powershift of dsg box from a seat 2011 dsg or mondeo powershift 2011 and do people travel to you ???
That only applies to traditional torque converter gearboxes. The power shift is just a manual gearbox with an electronic clutch so this does not apply. As for the rumour, it only applies if little to no maintenance was done on the gearbox. The torque converter and other internal parts of the gearbox would be worn down and the only thing keeping the gearbox functioning would be the dirty oil. This is due to the metal particulates within the oil adding grip/something for the internal components to keep working normally. A thicker grippier oil basically and when new oil is added it removes all of this and since the new oil would be more viscous and clean the worn components will no longer work properly. Simply put the gearbox will stop working as intended as due to lack of servicing and new oil it is now destroyed. However, with scheduled maintenance this rumour does not apply. Although faster service intervals would be recommend later in the gearboxes life particularly if it’s high mileage. Hope that answers your question. The powershift however must be serviced every 35,000 miles otherwise it will destroy itself if the oil and filter is changed any later.
Beware - this mechanic has not followed the refilling procedure correctly and could result in under filling. It should be collected from overflow and then poured back into filler until it flows again and repeated - and it HAS to be done on level ground not just jacked at the front
cover your arse every time as there are some seriously nasty people out there ive had the pleasure with one but got his arse handed to him by the judge
Avoid this gearbox. It’s guaranteed to fail. All powershift vehicles of this era that are in scrappers yards are for failing boxes and if not their gearbox will be taken by another owner whose box has packed in.
@@ianbirch5811A lot of people think these are the same as the dry clutch Powershift transmissions. These are more durable for sure. However, every part of every car will fail eventually. These transmissions need regular oil changes. Probably more often than the 60,000 km intervals recommend is better. Dirty oil interferes with the valve functions and can make them drive really badly. Well maintained, they can last pretty well. I've seen a Mondeo with 655,000km, still going. Most don't get that far though.
Customer has confirmed the car now drives without any gearbox faults 👍🏻

well done for covering yourself with a text , sensible and they can start saving up for a flywheel and recon gearbox nice and early in this case !
Thank you for the video, when filling the gearbox shouldn't the can be leveled otherwise there will be wrong in oil quantity.
As long as you put about 6 liters in, you're fine.
Always best to protect your self these days, customer will nail you straight away

Fella’s got those racing slicks on the front

Hi! With the front part lifted only, does it allow to have correct level of oil?

Hi what it's the price for flushing and change the insid filter and oil in galaxy 2017
Would a Mondeo transmission fit a Ford smax deisel 2014?

"one careful lady owner from new" 😂😂😂
Why is there so much white powder and oxidation over the components?
Wenn ich die kontroll schraube öffne Muss der Motor laufen und auf (p) sein wenn ich das Getriebe einschalte Oder muss der Motor ausgeschaltet sein?

I don't do a lot of gearbox repairs to say but the ford Powershift certainly has a worse reputation
Hello. I am searching for a Ford smax 2014 diesel transmission please. Thank you

Someone want me to do this too, looking at ALLDATA it saying 7.25L of fluid. maybe 7.25 is dry fill and 6ish service fill?
Haynes Autofix says the same, I was wondering if I should buy another 1L bottle but if the box in the vid is a 6DCT450 I guess 6L will do.
Ford s max 2.2 have durashift gearbox, is it the same?
2.2 Has Japanese gearbox Aisin , normal hydrokinetic gearbox
Brilliant video👍👍
Hi mate i have the same car as the video, it keeps juddering and comes up with transmission malfunction what could it be
did u find what it was as mine doing the same any help would be grat6 thanks
@@rickyclarke5711 yes mate was the gearbox filter and oil it sorted it anyways
After changing the oil and filter it stopped for couple weeks, but been on a long drive and it’s come back up and started juddering again
Does the car judder when pulling away and in reverse when on an incline?
@@rowan888 nope
Wish I found this before I sent mine in 😢
👍

As long as he put the correct amount in, it's fine.
