I much prefer this style of talk over the normal interpreted talk. That is to say, you can tell that the Japanese speaker and English speaker have practiced/given this talk together before, and they know the right timing to keep transitions smooth and the talk interesting. Some people might snub this style because the interpreter isn't interpreting absolutely everything raw on the spot, but if more prep leads to a better talk, why complain?

At ~28:00: They talk about how they focus on making the foreground characters pop against the background. Unfortunately in SF5 the stage is chosen before the characters and now it's common practice for pros to pick costumes that blend into the background to confuse their opponent during battle. Unfortunately it's also an eye sore for the spectator. Color matching costumes for this purpose has become one of my biggest pet peeves when watching SF5. I really hope Capcom pays attention to this and puts stage random selection AFTER character/costume selection.

    • @LazurBeemz

    *What the translator said*
"And here's a classic one, uh, Ryu's super uppercut looks like he's breaking his opponents jaw".
The joke was that Zangief looks like a stereotypical Japanese cartoon of an old man and yet the translator couldn't deal with it so he just summed up what he saw in the picture without even going near the actual joke. What is the point of a translator if he doesn't even translate. I guess people that don't speak Japanese would never even know what they are missing out on.
