I saw it from another angle in a different video. He actually didn't get a hand on it. The defender was trying to grab it but couldn't and ended up deflecting it towards the Bulls.
"MJ has done it again..." Ever wonder how many times an announcer uttered those words? Michael Jordan was, simply put, the most significant athlete in any sport other than Muhammad Ali. In a picture perfect world, it would be nice to see Robinson, Duncan, Leonard, Ginobili and Parker all in their prime playing together. I'd say that team would take down MJ and the Bulls in their prime at least one year in the Finals. Parker>Harper, GinobiliRodman, Robinson>Longley The obvious matchups would be MJ vs Kawhi, Rodman vs Duncan/Robinson, Pippen defending Manu (people are obviously going to forget how clutch Manu was in his prime, Pippen would have to lock him down when he gets hot). It be a fun series to watch.
lots of teams could take down prime Bulls: 86 Celtics, 87 Lakers, 72 Lakers, 67 Philadelphia, 83 Philadelphia, 71 Bucks ... basically any team with a DOMINANT center and a supporting cast. 1999 Spurs, ... too bad MJ "retired" as we'd have seen Bulls vs Spurs in 1999 instead of NY. Then again, would the Bulls have gotten past NY with Sprewell, Camby, Johnson, Ewing? Ewing spent that lockout year NOT working out, but in negotiations. *sigh*
I'm not sure which was more stunning: how openly the referees cheated for Jordan, or the fact that David Robinson was obviously a chiseled stone sculpture that was somehow brought to life through a series of magic spells.
I remember during a FINALS Game vs Portland Michael Jordan advanced up the court while holding firmly Clyde Drexler's wrist!!!! And the refs refused to make the call!!!!! That was so wrong!!!!!
It was how it was back then, fewer calls, did you guys see how the Pistons treated Michael? My God every single one of them would have had multiple suspensions these days. League has gone soft.
+ BingCherry11 Yeah, Jordan openly admits that he used to be able to get away with dragging Drexler by the wrist and even says that it was his favorite technique against Clyde. Life is nice when you're allowed to play by your own set of rules while your opponents aren't.
TheRiggedBA when a man go the the weight room to work on his arms, your goal in mind with REALIZING it is to have your arms like David Robinson.. those are man arms for sure
Wow! Imagine for a moment, if The Admiral had the ferocity of Malone, Barkley or Laimbeer (just a little). I think he would have been the most feared center of all time. I am glad he wasn't though. He and The Dream showed that you didn't need to play bully ball to be great.
90s BB was out of this world. Just look the contact. MJ faces some of the greatest ball players of all time. But no one was able to beat the Mighty Bulls.
At 1:29 that was a submissive move by Jordan in the moment. Looks away while The Admiral stares him down. Even though David was kind of playful, that was a powerful dominant stance and MJ felt it.
Look at that foul at 0:44. MJ clearly grabs David Robinson's arm. This isn't even a hard call to make. Even middle school refs would be able to make that call but not in the NBA. No sir. The NBA has to protect their golden boy MJ.
Well let's see, late game situation, the Spurs at this point are known as soft competitors who take themselves out of games when it gets tough. The Bulls on the other hand are 5 time champions at this point and the toughest team in the league. The refs are going to assume the Spurs are complaining instead of playing through with integrity for the game while the Bulls have earned the benefit of the doubt and are trusted competitors.
You are a Moron, refs miss calls. Jordan got the shit fouled out of him back in the day and didn't get the calls. It's not a Jordan thing it's an Ref thing. Detroit beat Jordan into the ground and Jordan didn't get a third of those calls, now all of a sudden the Ref doesn't make the call and it's Jordan's fault, Oh Jordan and the Refs are in cohoots together. Shut up with that shit! You probably didn't watch enough basketball to be able to make a decision. And what sport doesn't protect the player that has made the sport the biggest sport on tv. Bird, Magic, Isiah Thomas, Jordan, Shaq, and Kobe have all been the victims of fouls and the benefit of non calls. I've seen bench players get away with fouls. Jordan was protected? You don't know shit about the Jordan era and you know even less about your girlfriend!

Jordan knows he's a born again christian so he's not intimidated
Plus Jordan Has Admiration For The Admiral
it's funny... they look at each other for a split second like if they're mad dogging each other but you know there is still admiration and respect coming from both of them. It's like they can't keep a straight face lol
em9886 wrong
Mj and admiral had alot of respect for each other they won gold together on the dream team!
73-73
Back when defense reigned. 73-73 in today's NBA would occur with 10:54 left in the third quarter.
Well Said
Team defense rules sucked but you had more leverage on individual defense. Let Kawhi hand check he'll shut everyone in the 90s down
Derek Grizzly Yeah ok
The scoring was high as hell in the 80's though.
Derek Grizzly yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa ok 😂😂😂
The admiral was a beast and a hell of a player I notice mj didn't get in his face like he did with a lot of players
How could he? MJ was one of Snowwhite's dwarfs next to the Admiral.
MJ is respecting DR
mj didnt get in players face without reason and without provocation.david robinson was a gentleman and jordan respected him.
Well they are not mad at each other. It's obvious they are having fun here. Some people are fuckin retarded.
Because The Admiral didn't get in Jordan's face in an aggressive manner, he tried to pull a listen I'm fed up with you move but when Jordan didn't bite he moved on
No cabe la menor duda que jordan marco el rumbo de la NBA e iso que al que no le gustará ese deporte le encantará ya que tenía magia en las manos fue un exelente jugador y un exelente persona
robinson one of my favorites player very humble and very strong if he had stronger temper he could be even better player but he was very mellow he played like using 75% of his power
When he came to play the University of Kentucky at Rupp arena I was there. He scored like 50 or so points and got one of the longest standing ovations I’ve ever been a part of at a sporting event.
1:29.....OMFG!!! Only the GREAT ADMIRAL could stear at GOD MJ like that. What a BEAST DR was!!
David Robinson, what a beast !
David Robinson's triceps r the beeeeeest ever...
My 2 favorite players ever. Gosh I miss the 80's & 90's.
MJ23GOAT doing MJ23GOAT type things. The Admiral tried to intimidate MJ23GOAT by walking up to him and staring down on him. MJ23GOAT was having none of that.
Some of the 96 Olympians use to say that when David Robinson would train he would grab a pair of 90lb dumbbells and rep out hammer curls like they were 25lb db's, he was as strong as he looked...but what do I know, people today say athletes are bigger faster and stronger...Shaq is from early 90's and no one today is even close to his, Robinson's or Malone's strength
You can tell Jordan has alot of respect for David he didn't get in his face like other players and he knew david was right
In an early 90's interview, MJ said himself, Barkley, and Robinson were the ambassadors of the league.
he couldn't..he's to short for the admiral
I think the size difference was what stopped him lmao.
Robinson makes MJ look like a little boy compared to him lol
I've seen david live in 1993 and 1994 when i was in highschool. This guy made everybody look like fucking 🐜 ants on court.
Litle so MJ is more Bigest!!
That "little boy" whooped Robinsons ass year in and year out. Lmfao!
That’s exactly why MJ is the better player: with all that advantage people like Robinson still couldn’t play as well as MJ.. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🙂
Robinson made every player look little. An all time great too!
No basketball player in history had better genetics then the admiral. Him and Jordan on the same team would have been an unstoppable duo.
It's called the Dream Team
Robinson attitud always be like a giant vegetarian dinosaur
They're called 'herbivores' you putz.
🤣🤣🤣
lol you dug deep to find this description 😂
Perfect quote
a very possitive observation.. hahahah!!
Robinson was a beast and the 90s was the a golden age of centers in the nba
6'6 is considered as a giant but a 7'1 with that physique...oh geez.
凄い熱気❕❗❕
会場にいたら、どんなに興奮するか⤴⤴
いつか行ってみたいな~🎶

MJ は、永遠ですね✨
look at the crowd, golden era of basketball
I'd like to take a moment and recognize the brilliant tap on the offensive rebound by Kerr which led to that 3-point buzzer beater by Jordan.
Jordan was transformational on so many levels. He changed the way the game is viewed and played. LeBron James is a great player but isn't good enough to ever be mentioned in the same breath. No one is.
Tiger woods disliked this comment
@@darenmccormick2115 He can dislike it all he wants. If he'd stayed discipline he'd have eclipsed Jordan in his transformational effect. Same goes for Mike Tyson. But neither one of them did. The one athlete, of course, who remains the greatest athlete ever--Bo Jackson--is in a super human class by himself. Alas, his tenure wasn't anywhere long enough. But he still deserves to be in both halls of fame.
@@AGTsakumis .....eyeroll 🙄
@@darenmccormick2115 Why the eyeroll? Don't like the truth, I suppose. Let me guess: Millenial, listening to Mac Miller, living in your parents basement and playing with the poo in your diaper. Sounds about right. Take care, idiot.
@@AGTsakumis eclipsed Jordan ??. Golf vs. Basketball, no contest. There's nothing Tiger could do to be on Jordan's level. Especially back then aint no way in hell golf would reign over basketball.
The crowd is so Blessed 🙏 to see and witnessed his airness and the same time to witness coach with the good hair 😁
Hahahaha, David is Rambo ripped. Even today's 7 footers can't pull off that look.
Basketball back then was a man's game,, u can feel the intensity even its a low scoring ball game,,and most of all they have no other business in the court just to played basketball and win the game,,,
Great game. Great players. Great coaches.
Mr. Robinson was a very respectful player with great composure. If he complains there is a problem.
There is no close up replay and the pixels are bad, but you can clearly see MJ got all arm and no ball that was a crucial play in OT.
Absolutely
MJ versus The Admiral two of the greatest basketball players call time David Robinson and Michael Jordan
1:22 Michael lowkey stopped clapping and looked toward his left when he saw David approaching.😂😂
He didn't want any of that smoke.
David Robinson was always cool and calm for the most part in his career. Giannis reminds me of David Robinson.
@@RodNubianKing Na, don't do Mr. Robinson like that.
Giannis acts like a fool a lot of the times after his dunks, whether it's the full frontal flex with the face grimacing or him flying like an airplane (like little kids do).
Robinson was "always cool and calm", Giannis acts like a clown, they're nothing alike.
that ain’t true lil bro not sure if u saw but jordan was staring him right down and robinson was the one who looked away first
This should have been the 1999 Finals
Michael Jordan,is so much so much fun to watch!! I really really miss... the world never be THESAME again in sports 🏀 nba...omg! Yesterday’s GOOOOOONE!! Thanks to youtube
No one ever said Michael was huge like Shaq or LeBron, just the best!
Well No One Said LeBron Was Huge Like Shaq, But He Has 50/50 Chance Of Goat Status😂
My two all time favorite players
Same!
Wow look at how young POP looks here : 1:02
he actually looks pretty hot
I think Tom cruise could play him in a movie
Cristian Cavazos 😂😂😂😂
No bible beard either!
That was before the drugs hit lol
Look at San Antonio when MJ hit that buzzer beater. Priceless
Que animal era david robinson, un crack de los de toda la vida.
David Robinson was swole asf at 7'1.
In a picture perfect world, it would be nice to see Robinson, Duncan, Leonard, Ginobili and Parker all in their prime playing together. I'd say that team would take down MJ and the Bulls in their prime at least one year in the Finals. Parker>Harper, GinobiliRodman, Robinson>Longley
The obvious matchups would be MJ vs Kawhi, Rodman vs Duncan/Robinson, Pippen defending Manu (people are obviously going to forget how clutch Manu was in his prime, Pippen would have to lock him down when he gets hot).
It be a fun series to watch.
Well since we are imagining, then I'd say there would be a Steve Kerr clone so both would have Kerr. Lol
Remove Harper and put MVP D.Rose in there.
Migol 1984, do you think a prime Manu Ginobili can match a prime Michael Jordan? You must be hallucinating? Huh!!!
The '99 Spurs would've washed the Bulls had they stayed together...they would've have had any answer for that Duncan/Robinson front court.
lots of teams could take down prime Bulls: 86 Celtics, 87 Lakers, 72 Lakers, 67 Philadelphia, 83 Philadelphia, 71 Bucks ... basically any team with a DOMINANT center and a supporting cast. *sigh*
There has been over 300 nba head coaching changes since this video was taken, meanwhile, Gregg Popp still the head coach of the SA Spurs.
1:27 "I WILL BREAK YOU" (ivan drago voice)
I must break you
David Robinson have somewhat of a reputation of being soft, but when he stood right in Jordan's face was priceless.
MJ is the best player I've ever seen, but Robinson would crush him...
+ BingCherry11
Yeah, Jordan openly admits that he used to be able to get away with dragging Drexler by the wrist and even says that it was his favorite technique against Clyde. Life is nice when you're allowed to play by your own set of rules while your opponents aren't.
TheRiggedBA when a man go the the weight room to work on his arms, your goal in mind with REALIZING it is to have your arms like David Robinson.. those are man arms for sure
Hanthosaurus every era after 1991*
Got damn Robinson was the original Bra do you even lift haha😅
Wow!
Imagine for a moment, if The Admiral had the ferocity of Malone, Barkley or Laimbeer (just a little). I think he would have been the most feared center of all time.
I am glad he wasn't though. He and The Dream showed that you didn't need to play bully ball to be great.
david robinson had the potential to be the best center of all time but he was too ''nice''.
Ufff Robinson era una bestia!!!
😯 I wondered why I couldn't remember Popovic. This is how I saw him first. Not the way he looks now.
That is a ginormous man
Wth how come I never seen this buzzer beater from Jordan ever?
Leroy Nguyen
Because he's done it so many times in other games that were more significant. Like against Elo.
haha so underrated! lol thanks dude!
90s BB was out of this world. Just look the contact. MJ faces some of the greatest ball players of all time. But no one was able to beat the Mighty Bulls.
Yeah Cus The Teams Weren’t As Good. Aside From The 2016-2027 Warriors Or Maybe The Lackers Franchise
The good old days when people played defense and it was 73-73 after 4 quarters
The 2016-2017 Championships Were Fire
David Robinson's genes should be preserved for the future. We'll never see another specimen like him ever again.
At 1:29 that was a submissive move by Jordan in the moment. Looks away while The Admiral stares him down. Even though David was kind of playful, that was a powerful dominant stance and MJ felt it.
Yep I seen that
He stopped clapping and everything
Look like Jordan stopped clapping when Robinson pointed it out to the Ref. Clearly Jordan is smirking when Robinson gets in his face
@@depannist you got that one right.
@@depannist And MJ’s looking directly at him. Not sure what the OP was talkin about.
You changed, my life, with the flying man epic one time I saw and never again . I have your shoes at home black and yellow
Lmaoooo yooo Avery Johnson hit the B button twice 😂😂why he fell like that 😂😂😂0:12
Never forget the times of the great champions. To hell today's league, return me back to those times.
98 it was the best time of whole world not only for me MJ just unbelievable
1:30 the Admiral built like a fucking tank LOL
Red Kerr just makes every MJ highlight so much better
